Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: First, Some Weeds Will Have to Do

"Hah… hah… Did we… did we get away?"

In the narrow alley, Firefly bent forward, gasping for breath in heavy, ragged pulls.

"An air crash… such a low-probability disaster… We really are unlucky, sir—but also lucky. Only the two of us survived the ship… yet we crashed on an uncharted planet. It's almost like a prank from the Aeon of Elation, isn't it?"

As she spoke, Firefly wiped the blood from her face with her sleeve.

Liu Bai stared at the girl without answering right away.

Extraterrestrial visitor. Air crash. Gravely injured survivor.

Everything matched.

This was the exact starting scenario for Extraterrestrial Visitor.

You've got to be kidding… actual transmigration?

[Liu Bai]

[Current Health: Blood Loss (Mild)]

[Expected Recovery: 10 hours]

[Firefly]

[Current Health: Blood Loss (Severe), Entropic Decay (Mild), Bone Fractures (Wrist, Ribs…), Internal Organ Rupture…]

[Expected Time of Death: 4 hours]

Bad news: he had crossed over.

Good news: the mods were still active.

For instance, the current Health Check mod allowed real-time status confirmation for any unit—enabling precise treatment or targeted strikes for massive bonuses.

Firefly had four hours left?

No way this was happening—!

Weren't there rumors you might be Sam? Where's the armor? Where's the mech? Do something!

Fine, mods couldn't predict the truly unknown—even if transmigration itself was already beyond unknown.

But speaking of mods… Liu Bai remembered installing several healing-related ones.

Breath Regen?

No, that only worked on the user.

Elixir of Love?

What kind of medical mod even was that?!

Dietary Therapy?

Yes! That one!

The Dietary Therapy mod did exactly what its name implied: food crafted by the player gained healing potency scaled to recipe difficulty, granting access to powerful medicine even in the early game.

"…Sir? Are you listening?"

After steadying her breathing, Firefly looked at him with evident concern. "D-Don't tell me your hearing…?"

"Nothing like that. I was just thinking." Liu Bai drew in a deep breath.

In truth, he needed to calm down far more than she did.

Even so, he had to face reality—the most urgent issue was her severe blood loss.

"Do you have any quick food on you?"

"Quick… food? Are you hungry? I'm sorry—my luggage was completely destroyed in the crash. I was finally heading to… Ah, right, sir, I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Firefly, just… um, an ordinary passenger. And you?"

For an instant, Firefly's tone dipped with disappointment, but she quickly brightened again, flashing a sunny smile—though smeared across a blood-streaked face, it came off just a little terrifying.

Liu Bai let out a sigh. Not surprised.

Extreme-difficulty start; this level of hardship was par for the course—though experiencing it in reality was another matter entirely.

"I'm Liu Bai. Just an ordinary person." He spoke, then glanced back at the path they'd come from. Firefly's blood trail dotted the ground in intermittent drops. "Firefly, we might need to run a bit furth—wait."

The scenario start provided nothing, sure—but certain mods dumped items straight into the inventory right after game launch, completely independent of starting resources.

For example… the Serenitea Pot!

Liu Bai patted down his clothes and immediately located the small earthenware teapot tucked at the small of his back.

[Serenitea Pot: Storage Backpack / Stronghold (Note: The pot remains outside when entered and can be moved but not destroyed. Can contain non-resisting companions. Containment method: Direct pot spout toward companion, call their name, and await response.)]

"Pot?" Firefly tilted her head obediently yet puzzled as she watched Liu Bai produce the yellowish-brown teapot from behind him.

It didn't sound like there was water inside.

Liu Bai pointed the spout directly at the girl before him. "Firefly."

"Huh?"

The moment she responded, her entire body dissolved into light and was drawn inside the pot.

Seriously… this purple-gold-red gourd gimmick is way too ridiculous.

Liu Bai then lifted the lid himself and was promptly sucked in as well.

The world spun violently. When his vision steadied, he stood atop a floating island.

Beside him sat Firefly on the ground, utterly dumbfounded.

"L-L-Liu Bai sir! Where… where are we?"

"Think of it as my private space for now. Explaining the details would take too long."

Liu Bai scanned the surroundings. This was one of the starter homes: the Xianzhou Luofu Grotto.

The space brimmed with lush greenery, the sky above wreathed in drifting clouds, yet its vast emptiness lent it a lonely air. Only a single modest thatched hut stood nearby as the initial base.

At the hut's entrance floated a plump bird perched inside another pot, squatting in midair…

"Firefly, follow me. Can you stand?"

"O-Of course!"

As Firefly braced herself against the ground to rise, her brows twitched in the faintest wince.

"…Let me help." Liu Bai extended his arm, letting her drape it over his shoulder.

The pot spirit hovering before the hut noticed Liu Bai's approach. Its floating body swayed eagerly. "Master, welcome ba—"

"Skip."

"…"

Liu Bai ignored the now-speechless spirit and guided Firefly straight through the door.

The hut's interior was starkly bare: a simple set of bedding on the floor, a large wooden chest at the bed's head, and a gacha machine by the window.

"Lie down first. I'll be right back." Liu Bai eased Firefly onto the bedding, then moved directly to the chest.

"Um…" Firefly propped herself up as if to speak again.

The next instant, a wave of dizziness slammed into her skull.

She could feel—clearly—how dire her condition truly was.

Liu Bai threw open the chest and rummaged through its contents.

All mod items.

Trial Version Elixir of Love… Gacha Coins… There—Portable Cooking Pot.

Official name: Gourmet of the Xianzhou.

Low durability, but as long as no one smashed it, it wouldn't break.

To save a life… Liu Bai silently lit the stove beneath the pot, then tossed in a handful of random weeds.

Given the circumstances, Firefly would just have to make do.

For now… how about some roasted weeds?

"Target vanished?" A short-haired woman in maid attire, bangs veiling one eye, appeared in the alley. "Blood trail ends here… Did someone beat me to it? No—it doesn't appear so."

The maid lifted her gaze thoughtfully toward the rooftops.

"Since Serpent is here as well, it means those two sky-fallen guests merely hid themselves… correct?"

"Annoying."

A pitch-black figure stood atop the wall, coldly looking down at the maid—Rita Rossweisse.

"If the extraterrestrial can't be caught, bringing back an S-rank Valkyrie instead seems acceptable."
