Jayjay's POV
The bonfire was warm, and everyone was laughing as we played Truth or Dare. I thought I could just sit quietly, but then the bottle stopped at David.
"Truth," he said.
Someone asked, "Who do you like?"
David looked straight at me. His eyes were serious, his face open.
"I like Jayjay."
My heart jumped. He wasn't joking-I could see it in his eyes. But then he laughed.
"Relax, it's just a joke."
Everyone laughed with him. I laughed too, pretending it didn't matter. But inside, I couldn't stop thinking: Was it really a joke?
David's POV
I didn't plan to say it. But when they asked, the words came out.
"I like Jayjay."
She looked shocked, and for a moment, I thought she understood. But then I panicked. Yuri and Keifer were already fighting over her. I didn't want to make things worse. So I laughed and said it was a joke.
But it wasn't. Not for me.
