Chapter 140 - Expansion

"Sister Mei, don't go up."

Kenmyo saw Mei Mei preparing to go up, immediately held her shoulder, and stopped her from stepping forward into the train car.

He didn't say he was actually going up; why was Mei Mei in such a hurry?

It seemed that boarding this train was the only possible way to leave this place, but it was a very dangerous and irrational act.

Just now, those strange ghost-like things were so rare that the strong wind blurred his vision.

Making a misjudgment was normal.

Things often have two sides; boarding this train might trigger a deadly curse, just waiting for Kenmyo and Mei Mei to step on it.

Previously, when his left foot crossed in before his right, he was inexplicably subjected to a refreshing electric shock from a curse, losing nearly thirty percent of his health. Who could guarantee that the next damage ratio wouldn't be one hundred percent?

The Jujutsu Sorcerer Association had already lost two Second-Grade Jujutsu Sorcerers and one Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer.

It was a bit strange. Logically, a Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer should have a guaranteed win against a Grade 1 Cursed Spirit. Yet, a Cursed Spirit with the power to devour a Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer was still hiding in the shadows. It shouldn't have revealed its true form long ago to directly kill Mei Mei and him.

Instead, it was subtly luring them, herding them like ducks to this place with wide-open doors, hoping they would board this ominous steam train.

It couldn't be that Kenmyo's [Rin winter] had given this Cursed Spirit a small shock, scaring it into not daring to come out.

For a special express train to come just to send this plague god away—that was just Kenmyo's fantasy and not very realistic.

In that case, if Kenmyo and Mei Mei had tried to leave earlier, they wouldn't have been stopped by a 'ghost-wall'. So, Mei Mei wanting to board that ghost train was very dangerous.

At least for now, Kenmyo hadn't felt any fatal threat.

Black mist?

He didn't believe it could affect him, wearing the Inquisitor Karamazov's power armor. The Emperor's blessing, which Kenmyo had copied onto the armor, was enough to render all demonic tricks useless.

The Soul Eater Blade was not suitable to be brought out in this place; it was the signature weapon of Fushiguro Toji, a wanted criminal of the Jujutsu Sorcerer Association.

The Sorcerer Killer's blade appearing in Kenmyo's hand would cause too much controversy.

Fushiguro Toji possessed exquisite physical techniques, a superhuman physique at the peak of human ability, and the Special Grade Cursed Tool [Heavenly Restriction] that nullified all Jujutsu effects.

To some extent, Fushiguro Toji was harder to kill for Jujutsu Sorcerer than most Special Grade Cursed Spirits; the chance of surviving an encounter with him was even lower than facing a Special Grade Cursed Spirit.

It was like believing Kenmyo had defeated the Sorcerer Killer and taken the Special Grade Cursed Tool from Fushiguro Toji, or believing a novice Sorcerer who had just started out was Qin Shi Huang.

Concerning the integrity of the Jujutsu Sorcerer Association's higher-ups and his own future, Kenmyo should at least not get too close to Fushiguro Toji on the surface.

Fushiguro Toji and the Jujutsu High higher-ups, the Zenin Family, were mortal enemies; he had slaughtered half of the Zenin Family.

Mei Mei and Kenmyo had only known each other for a short time, meeting only three times in total. It was inappropriate to expose so many of his trump cards in front of her.

But Kenmyo was never a passive person; rather than being passively drawn into a situation, it was better to actively break out of it.

He was, after all, someone who had seen the world, having been in the divine realms of Slaanesh, the Lord of Pleasure, and Nurgle, the Plague Lord, and having gone in and out seven times by rough estimation. Would he be afraid of this inexplicable thing?

Control was always most important when held in one's own hands; one should not be led by the nose.

"Sister Mei, what do you think this place is now?"

"I speculate it should be a place similar to a Cursed Spirit's [Domain]."

Mei Mei replied.

"Hmm."

Mei Mei's answer was the same as what Kenmyo had thought. In the current situation, Kenmyo judged that he was likely in the Domain of the Cursed Spirit behind the scenes, a power called "Domain."

A Domain refers to constructing a Jujutsu field in the surroundings by expending a massive amount of Cursed Energy, independent of reality. Within the Domain, one can gain BUFFs similar to those in video games, and the Jujutsu technique cast within the Domain is guaranteed to hit.

The caster within the Domain is no different from a god. Kenmyo had already experienced the power of a Domain, even tearing one apart once. That level of intensity was comparable to Uncle Lan's.

Even in the Domain of the Nine-Tailed Incarnation, using Uncle Lan's power, Kenmyo had torn it apart as if tearing apart Balenciaga.

It was indescribable. So, after Kenmyo fought the Nine-Tailed Incarnation last time, he was very curious about this power called Domain and specifically consulted Teacher Yaga Masamichi of Jujutsu High.

The power of a Domain is extremely formidable; anyone who can unleash a Domain must be a Special Grade, but not all Special Grades can necessarily unleash a Domain.

Fortunately, there aren't any Cursed Spirits of such immense power being nurtured yet. Otherwise, given the large number of Cursed Spirits, there would be many more Special Grade Cursed Spirits than human Special Grades.

Currently, the only Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer in the Jujutsu Sorcerer Association, Yuki Tsukumo, in addition to her Jujutsu technique, also possesses terrifying Domain power, which is why she is rated as Special Grade.

Kenmyo estimated that this Cursed Spirit's level should be Special Grade, but its achievements in Domain had gone in the wrong direction.

The Domain's large-scale Cursed Energy was all used in constructing the scenery; everything Kenmyo saw could be described as indistinguishable from reality.

To turn the passive into active in this situation, he needed to give this Cursed Spirit an even more terrifying shock.

Uncle Lan was out of the question; he was too overpowered.

Last time, the guy next to Kenmyo had a mental breakdown and lay for so long just by looking through a familiar. This time, if Kenmyo brought Uncle Lan out and Mei Mei saw him up close, Kenmyo couldn't even guarantee Mei Mei wouldn't explode.

Although Ryu was only a Grade 1 Cursed Spirit, in terms of actual combat performance and her massive reserves of Cursed Energy, everyone who saw her, except Kenmyo, would initially perceive her as a terrifying Special Grade Cursed Spirit.

Ryu hadn't mastered the power of Domain, but Kenmyo's control over Psyker could extend to controlling Cursed Energy, meaning that when the opponent had already played their card, Kenmyo's response would also be a Domain.

There are three ways to counter a Domain: Jujutsu technique confrontation, escaping the Domain (not recommended), and suppressing it with one's own Domain.

The third option is the most effective.

Simply put, it's like arm wrestling: if my strength is greater than yours, I win.

Domains have distinctions of superiority and inferiority. The reason for their strength differences lies in the maximum coverage range of each Jujutsu technique within the Domain expansion, the maximum capture capacity, and which side is stronger in the clash of Jujutsu technique effects, that side wins.

Domains cannot be used by those not born with the talent, as they are the maximum manifestation of Jujutsu Sorcerer' innate Jujutsu techniques.

But Kenmyo didn't believe in such evil.

Kenmyo, who once had such low Cursed Energy that he couldn't use Jujutsu, can now easily use Jujutsu to turn a Grade 2 Cursed Spirit into a Cursed Energy ball, which is a miraculous breakthrough.

He wanted to use Ryu's Jujutsu technique [Rin winter] to fulfill one of the conditions for Domain expansion: the requirement of an innate Jujutsu technique.

As for life and death?

Ryu had already died once.

Before Kenmyo signed the master-servant contract with her, she had already died once, as the first victim of that murderer.

"Sister Mei, I want to try it."

Kenmyo had always wanted to experiment once with what was known as the pinnacle of Jujutsu, to see what kind of expressive power and Jujutsu technique expansion effect it truly had.

"To counter a Domain with a Domain."

"What?! A Domain?"

Mei Mei paused for a second when she heard this.

Domain is the limit of Jujutsu, the most powerful Jujutsu technique. Mei Mei's first reaction was naturally disbelief. Among so many Jujutsu Sorcerer in the Jujutsu Sorcerer Association, and so many Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerers, how many could open a Domain? Up until now, there had only been Yuki Tsukumo.

But when she suddenly thought of what had happened in the tunnel earlier, Mei Mei swallowed, thinking that Kenmyo might actually be able to use a Domain.

She might soon witness the birth of a miracle in the history of the Jujutsu World.

The youngest Special Grade in human history.

Mei Mei asked,

"How can I help you?"

"Sister Mei, just watch."

Kenmyo replied, looking at the train.

"But Sister Mei, please keep this performance a secret."

"Because it's my debut, I might not perform very well, and I'd prefer others not to know."

What if he encountered someone knowledgeable, and the Domain Kenmyo constructed in his imagination was different from a normal Domain? Wouldn't that be a huge embarrassment?

"You call this a Domain?" Kenmyo couldn't even imagine how awkward he would be then.

It could be used to refine his Jujutsu technique; he still had a long time.

Wouldn't it be better if Kenmyo gave the world a small shock with a complete Domain then?

[Full Recharge]

Kenmyo waved his hand and clicked confirm.

[Cursed Energy recharging...]

This meant that all of Kenmyo's mana points, including the Cursed Energy accumulated by [Praise of Life], were completely emptied and converted into Cursed Energy at once.

[Current Cursed Energy: 5622.] (1574X3+3 X300)

Although Kenmyo felt like he was spending lavishly, don't misunderstand; this amount of Cursed Energy was not enough to drive the ultimate Jujutsu technique—Domain.

It couldn't even make a ripple.

Perhaps, the Cursed Energy consumed by some Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerers when using special Jujutsu techniques might even be more than what Kenmyo had converted from his mana points.

So why did Kenmyo empty his mana points? Because he wanted to become the 'lever' in the 'lever principle,' using it to stimulate Ryu's massive Cursed Energy.

Kenmyo's favorite analogy was that he had opened a hundred-fold, a thousand-fold leverage, leveraging the entire capital market.

Using Kenmyo's Cursed Energy as a fuse to ignite Ryu's massive Cursed Energy. It was certain that even if Kenmyo's hypothetical Domain expansion only lasted for one second, it would be enough to give the Cursed Spirit here a hard time.

The dense Cursed Energy flowed through Kenmyo's body, replacing Psyker. How to describe it?

Psyker was provided by the system, so it was very pure. When he used it, there wouldn't be any impurities like the Psyker used by Psykers in the Warhammer World.

But Cursed Energy was different; it was truly a garbage power that made Kenmyo feel disgusted.

Because Cursed Energy is the manifestation of human negative emotions, even when purified, it is still the manifestation of human malice.

It cannot be whitewashed.

So Kenmyo felt as if he was surrounded by a malice originating from his own body, and he felt deeply disgusted from the bottom of his heart.

Kenmyo's Cursed Energy mixed with Ryu's Cursed Energy, clear and dazzling against the pure white, possessing a beauty tainted by black.

"Boom!"

Kenmyo's hair stood on end in the violent Cursed Energy, like a "Saiyan" battle mode from a certain manga in his previous life.

A terrifying aura, a mix of black and white, also emanated from his body, seemingly indicating that Kenmyo was finally beginning to get serious.

Violent Cursed Energy currents continuously surged from Kenmyo's body, blowing so hard that Mei Mei couldn't open her eyes.

"Monster."

Even from Mei Mei's perspective as a Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer, that aura could be called monstrous, brutally and unreasonably piercing Mei Mei's spirit, causing all the hairs on her body to stand on end.

In front of Mei Mei, Kenmyo slowly pressed his hands together as if in prayer. The violent aura, a mixture of black and white, along with the light emanating from his body with his breathing, gave off a bone-chilling coldness.

[Domain Expansion!]

Mei Mei saw a large number of water lilies in this area, entirely made of ice, four to five meters long, with stout circular lotus leaves over six meters wide, all looking lifelike.

It covered all the space of the entire platform and station; every visible place was composed of ice water lilies, like a giant lotus pond, with silver lotuses blooming and ice crystals splashing.

And as the only one unaffected by the terrifying Jujutsu technique, Mei Mei was already speechless with shock.

If [Rin winter] was an unreasonable erosion and brute-force freezing, then this water lily pond was filled with eerie benevolence and inclusiveness. Mei Mei also found it absurd; why did she have such an inexplicable feeling?

The hand seals Kenmyo made were to control the flow, direction, intensity, and other aspects of the Cursed Energy within his body. All of this was accomplished through hand movements, thereby mobilizing all of his Cursed Energy to manipulate Ryu's Cursed Energy.

When his hands pressed together, a silent Buddhist chant seemed to resonate, and a magnificent and incomparably sacred light shone from Kenmyo's back, illuminating the entire space. A giant, Sanskrit-filled halo covered the sky.

And in the light, an ice giant Buddha, as majestic as a mountain, over a hundred meters tall, with every detail carved lifelike, gradually revealed its revered form amidst the bone-chilling cold.

Time and space were almost frozen the moment this Buddha appeared.

With what seemed like a thousand hands behind him, it placed one hand in front of its body while the other cradled Kenmyo, its face filled with compassion.

[Hundred Styles - Water Lily Bodhisattva]

At this moment, the Cursed Spirit's Domain space could no longer bear it, and hundreds of meters long, conspicuous cracks began to appear, from which flowed foul, unclean blood, as the wounds split open.

Black-and-red blood rained down from the sky, and upon contact, the world began to crumble. The superiority of the Domains was already quite evident.

The Cursed Spirit's mournful wails echoed in his ears, but Kenmyo would not let it go. With both hands, he formed the Arabic numeral '9' with his fingers, placed upside down.

Kenmyo's eyes widened in fury, like a god-king, and he roared,

[Ninety-Nine Styles - Demon Subjugation]
