Chapter 144 - Wings

Bang.

Kenmyo couldn't even hold the beaker in his hand, dropping it to the ground. Fortunately, its quality was superb, so it didn't shatter, merely rolling under the table.

They say bitter wine hurts the heart as it goes down, let alone an old vintage sealed away for who knows how many years. Even after dilution, the crimson liquid burned hotter than magma as it entered his mouth.

A thick, intensely bloody hot current flowed from his throat to his stomach, like swallowing a mouthful of razor blades, slicing directly from his esophagus into his belly. But the nightmare was far from over; this pain would sweep through his entire body.

With a pained expression, he clutched his neck with both hands. Finally, his vision went black, and he couldn't even stand, collapsing to the ground like the beaker.

Unimaginable agony filled his brain, and all his muscles felt like they were tearing. Kenmyo instinctively wanted to vomit, but his rationality told him he couldn't.

There were only three diluted portions of the blood of saint giles, and each was incredibly precious.

Kenmyo could only desperately cover his mouth with his hands, forcing the nausea back down. He couldn't speak, only coughing intermittently.

Suddenly, a wave of sleepiness washed over him. Gradually, Kenmyo lost consciousness, and the beating of his heart in his chest grew slower and slower.

Kenmyo fell into boundless darkness. In a daze, he suddenly heard a cacophony of clashing sounds, angry roars, and artillery fire, all mixed with various sharp, piercing noises.

Gradually, Kenmyo slowly opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was a fragment of the Emperor's statue, symbolizing supreme authority, inexplicably severed in the middle. The ground was littered with broken debris and the corpses of various Space Marines.

The horrific scene made Kenmyo's pupils tremble violently. Anyone witnessing such a blasphemous, bloody, and realistic battlefield would find it hard to accept. The air was filled with the acrid smell of burning gunpowder, instantly pressing an unimaginable sense of pressure and exhaustion onto Kenmyo's nerves.

Moreover, Kenmyo felt a long-lost urge deep within him, an uncontrollable desire to unleash violence that almost overwhelmed his mind. His face involuntarily contorted into a snarl, and he gasped for breath.

The raging fire in his heart could not be extinguished; overwhelming emotions threatened to completely engulf his reason.

Was this anger?

Kenmyo never thought he would have a day like this, to once again feel the anger that had been stripped away by the warhammer simulator and now returned.

The sensation of his heart beating violently was so strong, and his vision was a bloody red, whether from the towering flames or the pervasive blood.

Due to the host's sense of anger being stripped away.

Negative emotion 'Anger' effect has been exempted.

With the help of the warhammer simulator, Kenmyo's mind instantly cleared. He felt as if he had been thrown into cold water, regaining his composure.

For Kenmyo, who had lost the ability to perceive anger, to empathize so strongly and clearly feel such overwhelming rage was clearly beyond the norm.

But if it was The Great Angel's rage, then everything made sense.

Rage from the bloodline.

A sacred and majestic hymn suddenly appeared in Kenmyo's ears. This voice possessed the power to make people willingly submit, but it also contained a reassuring, warm, and gentle strength.

As the voice grew closer, it slowly coalesced before Kenmyo into a shimmering golden figure. Complex and ornate golden Power Armor was illuminated by a holy light. The magnificent armor was adorned with several giant rubies, representing Terra, Baal, and Baal's moon. Behind him, a pair of imposing white wings spread wide, and he held a crimson spear in his hand.

Kenmyo's purpose for this journey was him!

This was Sanguinius, known as The Great Angel, Lord of Hosts, and the Primarch of the Space Marine Ninth Legion, the Blood Angels.

Even the book 'Fate' sang praises of this Primarch, stating:

"Has there ever been a guardian more beloved by the people than him?"

Sanguinius's appearance here was an indispensable part of the ritual.

This long-haired man, with flowing golden hair and an incredible charisma in his every move, slowly walked up to him and, without stopping, merged directly with Kenmyo.

Immediately, an unimaginable and terrifying power flowed in from this point, and Kenmyo's heart gave a violent twitch.

If he could see his own heart, he would be astonished to find a blood-drop shaped rune now appearing on it, with a pair of tiny white wings spreading on either side, infiltrating his heart.

That symbolized the noble virtues of the Blood Angels and represented the unparalleled power of Sanguinius.

The Great Angel's strength was also far ahead among the Primarchs, basically at T0 level, on par with Warmaster Horus before his rebellion.

When facing Angron, the Primarch of the Twelfth Legion, who had ascended to Daemon Prince of Khorne, the Warmaster. Angron hurled a spear at Sanguinius, powerful enough to destroy a battleship. Sanguinius caught the spear in mid-air with one hand and threw it back even faster, pinning the Daemon Primarch to the ground like a specimen, unable to move.

However, Warmaster Horus, after his rebellion, had received the blessings of Chaos Gods of the Warp, becoming their shared chosen one, the most powerful Primarch of all time.

Otherwise, how could Sanguinius, who possessed power so immense it could render the daemon ascension of other Primarchs meaningless, have died at Horus's hands?

At the same time, in the real world, an abnormal event occurred with the infusion of the Primarch's blood of saint giles.

Kenmyo, lying on the ground, trembled uncontrollably, clearly suffering extreme pain. His teeth gradually sharpened, especially the two canine teeth on his upper jaw, which grew directly longer.

Was it a delusion? Under the transformation, Kenmyo's face gained many handsome lines, making him much more attractive. He looked comparable to the vampires in Western stories who could live off their looks.

Simultaneously, two high bumps appeared on Kenmyo's back. Something seemed to be brewing within them.

However, during the transformation, Kenmyo's connection to the outside world was severed, and he couldn't even feel his own body, somewhat akin to his soul being banished. But this was all to align with the blood of saint giles, allowing Kenmyo to adapt to the transformation.

Finally, as the blood flowed throughout his body, Kenmyo's right pupil gradually turned crimson, then black. This was a precursor to the onset of the Black Rage.

"Blood eternal."

Having been corrupted by Sanguinius's blood to this extent, the previous exemption no longer held meaning. Kenmyo's mouth unconsciously opened.

"I am Sanguinius. Kill Horus."

Kenmyo kept repeating this phrase, and soon, with its repetition, the scene before his eyes changed.

Suddenly, an endless barrage of artillery fire erupted continuously across the land, and the thunderous explosions could not drown out the painful wails of the soldiers. Limbs and torsos of large armored figures were everywhere; this was the bloodiest meat grinder.

This was because Warmaster Horus feared Sanguinius's immense power and command abilities. Thus, he dispatched the entire Blood Angels Chapter to a remote Imperial planet.

Two armies of Warp Chaos Gods were already waiting there: the Khorne Greater Daemon of the Warmaster, and the Great Daemon of Slaanesh, the Lord of Pleasure.

In the sky, three figures, with wings soaring, intertwined and clashed. Crimson, gold, and pinkish-purple, each confrontation between the terrifying enemies and The Great Angel caused blood to spray across the heavens.

Sanguinius's legs were torn off, but even so, the flaming holy sword in his hand still inflicted indelible damage upon his enemies.

When he learned from the Greater Daemon that his good brother Horus had betrayed him, betrayed the Imperium, and defected to the Chaos Gods.

The enraged Sanguinius, disregarding his injuries, charged directly towards Terra, the capital of the Imperium of Man, with the remnants of the Blood Angels Legion.

The scene shifted, and Kenmyo's vision changed again, bringing him to a completely unfamiliar place, and another unfamiliar voice echoed in his ears.

"Sanguinius, join us."

This magnificent voice, compared to Sanguinius's, was even more intimidating, containing an indescribable domineering quality. Though it was an admonition, it sounded more like a final warning.

"Those Warp entities will help you resolve the Black Rage and Red Thirst afflicting your sons."

"Do not cling to the decaying ship of the Imperium. Overthrow that bastard's rule and reshape this nation with me."

"I need your strength."

Kenmyo wanted to stand up, but his grievous injuries rendered him immobile.

The heavily wounded Sanguinius lay on the ground, unable to move, his entire body essentially fractured, riddled with Run through wounds and various fatal injuries.

But even so, Sanguinius had not died. With his powerful vitality, these terrifying injuries would heal given enough time.

Only Horus, who had become the chosen of Chaos Gods and acknowledged by the Warp, thus gaining immense power, could have pushed the mighty Sanguinius to such a desperate state!

"Don't even think about it, you damned traitor."

Sanguinius glared furiously at his once best brother.

In the real world, Kenmyo's body synchronized, also trembling continuously at this moment.

"Look what you've done, Horus?"

Sanguinius grabbed his almost broken spear, flapped his Great Angel wings, and flew up again. All his psychic energy surged as he charged at Horus with his spear.

"I merely fanned the flames, leading the Imperium to its demise."

Wearing Power Armor with a giant, glowing red eye on its chest, Horus, a stern-faced middle-aged man, showed no change in expression as Sanguinius thrust at him, his face even filled with mockery.

His bald head was quite prominent compared to his massive body and Power Armor.

"To see the entire galaxy burn is what I truly desire."

"Sanguinius, I admire your talent."

"It's a pity you refuse to belong to me."

"Then I can only kill you!"

Horus raised his left arm's massive Power Claw. Three claw blades, four meters long and wreathed in terrifying Chaos energy, thrust towards Sanguinius.

After battling two terrifying Greater Daemons and trekking thousands of miles back to Terra, the exhausted Sanguinius was already at the end of his tether.

To endure so long against the greatly empowered Warmaster Horus without falling was the highest testament to Sanguinius's peerless reputation as the Imperium's greatest warrior.

"Pfft."

The sound of flesh tearing echoed.

Without any suspense, Horus's chilling Power Claw effortlessly pierced through Sanguinius's body. As it went deeper, a dull sound of a sharp weapon entering flesh followed, and crimson blood, imbued with the power of the Chaos Gods, continuously flowed down the claw blades.

Sanguinius's body was instantly impaled, with three blood-stained Power Claws exposed in the air.

Horus lifted Sanguinius high, slowly raising him with one hand, as if showcasing his triumph in killing The Great Angel.

However, Sanguinius, whose heart had already been crushed by Horus, at this moment, in his dying breath, forcibly held his shattered spear and plunged its blade directly into Horus's shoulder.

Unexpectedly, the Power Armor, blessed by Chaos Gods, was pierced by this strike from Sanguinius, creating a huge hole. His blade even wounded Horus's body.

The enraged Horus directly vibrated his Power Claw and bisected Sanguinius, who had a smile on his face, cutting him into three pieces.

Still not satisfied, Horus felt disgusted by Sanguinius's face. He raised his fist and repeatedly smashed it into Sanguinius's remaining upper body, the immense force rendering Sanguinius's face a bloody mess.

Horus killed Sanguinius with extremely cruel methods, but The Great Angel's sacrifice was valuable; he had punched a hole in the Power Armor that Chaos Gods' blessing could not destroy.

This allowed the enraged Emperor to seize that weakness and finally kill Horus.

"So painful."

By the time Kenmyo woke up again, it was already the afternoon of the next day, a full 16 hours having passed.

Kenmyo looked around and the first thing he saw was Ryu, dressed in a maid outfit, curiously crouching beside him. Uncle Lan also stood silently nearby, his sapphire blue ceramite looking very reassuring.

"Oh, right, I took the blood of saint giles."

Kenmyo clutched his head, his voice a little strained.

He had experienced a strange dream. Seeing his two bodyguards beside him immediately made him feel much safer.

"Were you protecting me while I was asleep? Thank you for your hard work."

The ground was covered in various bloodstains, which were the impure blood expelled from his body. The blood of saint giles had directly made his body much stronger.

"Horus, what have you done?"

Kenmyo remembered the scene of Sanguinius being pierced by Horus's blade, and a wild, furious consciousness inexplicably surged within him.

Because seeing the noble Great Angel's heart pierced, with The Great Angel's blood, as dazzling as rubies, flowing freely, was a nightmare for every warrior who had consumed the blood of saint giles.

It was equivalent to one's faith being trampled upon and defiled by others.

Black Rage skill has been activated.

Negative emotions have been exempted.

Red Thirst has been exempted.

Since Kenmyo had regained consciousness, the warhammer simulator simply helped him remove the abnormal status effects.

The Black Rage not only turns people into monsters who know only slaughter but also enhances their abilities.

For example, at this moment, a pair of black wings had sprouted from Kenmyo's back.

Kenmyo clicked to check his attributes.

"Resurrection?"

He couldn't help but widen his eyes.

"And Second Stage Resurrection?"
