Chapter 1 - chapter 1:wendy marcus

"Ugh… my head," Wendy groaned as he held his head and rubbed his temples with a pained expression.

After a moment, he felt the fogginess fading and his head becoming clearer.

His eyes widened as he felt a chill crawl up his back. Glancing around, he noticed two worn-out buildings standing to his left and right.

He realized that he was lying on a cold floor.

Quickly scanning his surroundings, his eyebrows rose and his jaw dropped.

"Wait, wasn't I supposed to die in a plane crash? How am I lying in the middle of a street?" Wendy had a confused and dazed look in his eyes.

He vividly remembered his private jet malfunctioning and exploding after crashing, and he was certain of his death.

His jet had been flying over a desert—endless sand, no cities.

There was no possible reason for him to be lying unconscious on a street like this.

Suddenly, an intense, excruciating pain tore through his skull.

Wendy screamed as he collapsed forward, clutching his head. It felt as though thousands of needles were being driven straight into his brain, one after another.

"Ahhhhhhh!!"

Wendy was in severe pain, clutching his head and screaming as he pressed his face against the ground, gasping for air. It felt like a thousand surgical needles piercing his brain.

He eventually calmed down, letting out muffled sounds as he lay on the cold ground, trying to subdue the pain.

He wondered what had caused it.

As if responding to his question—

As the pain subsided, something else followed.

Memories—memories that were not his—forced their way into his mind. Faces, places, emotions he had never lived through, yet somehow understood.

As he browsed through those memories, his expression changed.

His eyes widened, and a bitter smile formed on his lips.

He slowly pushed himself upright and looked down.

His vision was blocked by two unfamiliar curves rising from his chest. His breath hitched.

He hadn't noticed it before, but his crotch felt empty.

He felt as though he had been petrified for eternity.

"What… what the hell…"

The words came out hoarse, barely louder than a whisper.

Wendy hoped that what was happening would turn out to be a nightmare.

"The hell it will be."

Wendy quickly realized that he was experiencing something that should never happen to a guy.

"Reincarnation… no, transmigration to be accurate," Wendy muttered as he came to that conclusion.

He covered his eyes and leaned against the wall, one of his curvy legs bent upward.

Wendy had read manga and watched anime after visiting Japan on Earth, and he enjoyed them.

So he was familiar with the concept of reincarnation and all its variations.

"But why did it have to be a gender-bender transmigration?" Wendy wanted to cry, but he didn't want to lose what he believed was a man's dignity.

He didn't know whether he should be happy for surviving a disaster or cry over experiencing a gender-bent transmigration.

Minutes passed in silence before Wendy finally managed to steady his breathing.

Sitting cross-legged, Wendy began organizing the foreign information in his mind.

"I should at least understand the situation and make use of this second chance."

As expected, Wendy forced himself to stay positive and move forward.

As he continued organizing everything piece by piece, clarity slowly emerged.

--------<.>----------

Starting with the memories—

Wendy was an orphan.

Someone had left him in front of an orphanage with a short letter bearing only his name: Wendy.

Since he had no surname, the dean of the orphanage gave him the name Wendy Marcus Mayura, which was later shortened to Wendy Marcus.

During his childhood at the orphanage, Wendy was exceptionally smart for his age.

He started talking at one year old and began recognizing written characters by the age of two.

While others played with toys, he spent most of his time reading science books, which captivated him.

Due to his high intelligence, he was often bullied by other children at the orphanage.

The dean and staff constantly compared other kids to Wendy, which only made everyone unhappy. No one wanted to play with him.

It wasn't that Wendy cared about playing with them, but it made his childhood a lonely one.

For others, it might have been sad—but for Wendy, it was a boon.

It gave him a sense of freedom, unbothered by others.

Despite the bullying, Wendy started school at the age of three and was always at the top of his class. He excelled in all his exams, won several competitions, and became a kind of "student idol."

He also became the excuse other parents used to nag their children.

Naturally, this attracted even more unwanted attention.

The bullying only intensified.

Because of this relentless harassment, Wendy developed countermeasures and defensive techniques. With his high IQ and intelligence, learning these methods came easily to him.

As a result, he learned how to fight back and outsmart his bullies.

Once, he even managed to trick his bullies into getting into a fight with a rich girl. They were never seen again after that—only God knew what happened to them.

He was always the first choice for adoption at the orphanage. But Wendy knew that those people wanted to use him for their own selfish gains and desires.

The only ones who saw him as a person rather than a money-making tool were the orphanage dean and the nanny who raised him.

He refused every adoption offer and eventually moved out of the orphanage when he left to attend university in a different city.

He rented a small apartment, worked part-time at night, and attended college during the day.

With his high IQ and knowledge, he graduated early with an engineering degree.

He later studied business administration and became the youngest person to earn a PhD at the age of twenty-eight.

After that, he built his own firm and created an empire consisting of thousands of industries, millions of connections, and numerous technological inventions of his own.

He was a true brainiac—single and unmarried.

He could adapt to and learn almost anything.

Over time, he mastered more than twenty languages fluently, thanks to his exceptional memory and comprehension.

• A genius engineer

• A golden-nosed businessman

• A ruthless enemy

• A caring boss

He earned many titles.

He faced countless troubles—betrayals, enemies, hackers—

yet he could not escape fate.

He died in a plane crash and reincarnated as a woman, harboring both his soul and the memories of this body.

Now, he was organizing and analyzing the memories of the body he currently inhabited.

"Hm… it seems I'm an orphan again," Wendy muttered as he finished sorting through the woman's memories.
