Chapter 9 - Awakening—The Sharingan

At this moment, Uchiha Itachi was beyond excited.

Since the founding of the Uchiha Clan, no one had ever awakened the Sharingan at the age of four—right after beginning ninjutsu cultivation.

Even Itachi himself, hailed as the most gifted genius the Uchiha Clan had ever produced, had only barely awakened his Sharingan at the age of five or six!

"Feng, normally when the Sharingan awakens, shouldn't it be triggered by intense emotional fluctuations or something like that…?"

"How did you…?"

Very quickly, a trace of doubt arose in Itachi's heart.

After all, the conditions for awakening the Sharingan were notoriously harsh. Under normal circumstances, it was extremely difficult to awaken at all.

"I don't really know either. I was just soaking in the secret medicine, and my eyes started itching… then they opened."

Of course, Ning Feng wouldn't mention anything about gift packs or systems. If he did and got dragged off for dissection and research, that would be disastrous.

After all, there was a certain snake uncle in this world who was a full-blown scientific maniac.

"Well… no matter what, the fact that you've awakened the Sharingan is a tremendous boost to our clan."

"It's getting late now. I still have ANBU missions tomorrow morning, so I can only accompany you in the afternoon. Rest well—tomorrow evening, I'll teach you the Uchiha Clan's taijutsu."

It was obvious that Itachi was extremely excited. The way he looked at Ning Feng was filled with admiration and appreciation.

"Uchiha taijutsu, huh…"

Ning Feng nodded slightly.

The Uchiha Clan was an extremely well-rounded clan. Even in taijutsu, their attainments were exceptionally high.

In the original story, Uchiha Madara had once crushed entire ninja armies purely with taijutsu alone—one could imagine just how terrifying Uchiha taijutsu became when trained to its peak.

After giving a few more instructions, Itachi's figure flashed—and he vanished from the Uchiha compound.

Once Itachi had left, Ning Feng didn't rest. Instead, he immediately began practicing hand seals.

One had to say, after everything was gamified, even difficult techniques like the Great Fireball Technique, which were notoriously hard for beginners to master, became incredibly easy once you clicked Use.

Ning Feng merely recalled the Great Fireball memory engraved in his mind, and his hands began forming seals rapidly and smoothly—without a single mistake.

A moment later, with a whoosh, an enormous Great Fireball burst forth from Ning Feng's mouth.

Wherever the fireball passed, it instantly evaporated more than half of a nearby pond.

Whether in scale or destructive power, it was far stronger than the version Itachi used in the original story.

"As expected of the Uchiha Clan's signature technique—Great Fireball. This range and damage are absolutely insane!"

Ning Feng was thrilled.

With just the Sharingan and the Great Fireball Technique, he could already surge far ahead of all other players.

He also quickly noticed that although he currently had only a single-tomoe Sharingan, it still significantly boosted his ninjutsu power. Otherwise, his Great Fireball would never have surpassed Itachi's.

This was clearly one of the advantages of his Sharingan.

After some brief testing, Ning Feng left the Uchiha compound.

Although he already possessed basic combat power and Genin-level chakra, his level was still only Level 1. He needed to level up as soon as possible.

Moreover, since he had spawned directly into the Uchiha Clan, he still knew nothing about the situation of other players.

The moment he stepped out of the compound, Ning Feng immediately sensed—through his Sharingan—that ANBU operatives were already watching him from the shadows.

It seemed that the higher-ups of Konoha had already grown wary of the Uchiha Clan and had begun taking precautions, guarding against any possible rebellion…

However, perhaps because of his young age, the surveillance only lingered briefly before disappearing without a trace.

Feeling a growing sense of urgency, Ning Feng knew very clearly—

The time left to him was not much.

Just as he was thinking, panicked and terrified voices suddenly rang out in the distance.

"Mist Village spies are here! Everyone, get out of the way!"

"Ahhh! Mist spies have mixed into the crowd—close the doors, now!"

"Mist spies!? That's no joke! Everyone, shut your doors!"

The once-bustling streets fell silent in an instant. Shopkeepers who had been warmly welcoming customers moments ago immediately slammed their doors shut.

Even those who didn't manage to close their shops wore expressions of pure fear.

From the terrified looks in their eyes, one could see that at the far end of the street, amidst a sea of dark figures, several Konoha ninjas were searching frantically—clearly hunting for someone.

With his keen hearing and Sharingan, Ning Feng instantly noticed several extremely unusual figures hidden within the crowd.

Most importantly—

The text floating above those figures was red, marking them as hostile.

Everyone else was green.

"Looks like Mist Village spies have infiltrated Konoha."

Ning Feng's eyes flickered as he immediately grasped the situation.

This Naruto World was far from the idealized version shown in the original story—it was filled with conflict and bloodshed everywhere.

Especially spies like these from Kirigakure, who could appear at any moment and take countless lives.

As his gaze swept over them, the spies' attributes quickly appeared:

[Hoshigaki Guizhong]: Level 13 Genin, Bronze-tier BOSS, Kirigakure Spy

[Momochi Guizhan]: Level 11 Genin, Bronze-tier BOSS, Kirigakure Spy

[Hozuki Yamanaka]: Level 12 Genin, Bronze-tier BOSS, Kirigakure Spy

...

Seeing their stats, the corners of Ning Feng's mouth lifted slightly.

He had been worrying about not having monsters to grind—

And now these Kirigakure spies had delivered themselves right to his door.

Just as Ning Feng was considering his move, several players suddenly noticed him. The leader, a player named [Hyuga Shankai], sneered coldly.

"Kid, judging by your looks, you must've gotten lucky and become a main-branch young master of the Uchiha Clan, huh?"

"Then you must've gotten a lot of good stuff. How about sharing some with us brothers?"

As he spoke, he waved his hand. Several players quickly rushed forward, surrounding Ning Feng so tightly that there was no way out.

Ning Feng glanced at them casually.

Most of these players were only Level 2, and the leader, Hyuga Shankai, was merely Level 3.

In online games, situations like this happened all the time.
