Chapter 27 - Lightning Release Ninjutsu — Chidori

As he spoke, Principal Wang looked around at the corpses of the fallen giant lynxes, his heart pounding.

These were C-rank demonic beasts—extremely dangerous creatures, far beyond what ordinary people could handle.

Yet here they were… all slain by a single teenager.

Was this really a student from Qinglong High School!?

Just as Principal Wang was still reeling from the shock, a puff sounded.

The boy in front of him suddenly transformed into a log of wood.

At the same instant, a chilling sensation brushed against Principal Wang's neck.

His heart skipped a beat.

A sharp kunai had appeared beneath his throat—just one more inch forward, and his life would have been over.

"S–Student! I'm Wang, the principal of Qinglong High School! D–Don't attack by mistake!"

Principal Wang hurriedly explained.

Only then did Ning Feng realize the man before him was a middle-aged adult. He quietly let out a breath and slowly withdrew the kunai.

This wasn't intentional hostility.

In battle, anything can happen—one must always think three steps ahead. That was the discipline of a mature ninja.

Once the danger passed, Principal Wang turned around and finally recognized the familiar face.

But more shocking than that was this—

Even now, the boy maintained a ninja's instinctive vigilance, alert in all directions.

That kind of awareness wasn't something one could gain simply by logging into Naruto World.

And just moments ago, Ning Feng had chained Substitution Jutsu and Clone techniques seamlessly—something most students couldn't hope to achieve.

"Y–You're Ning Feng!?"

Principal Wang finally recognized him, his eyes wide with disbelief.

"If it weren't for you stepping in during the giant lynx attack, many more of us would've died today!"

"On behalf of the entire school, I thank you, Ning Feng!"

Ning Feng shrugged calmly.

"I just did what I should've done."

In truth, he only cared about protecting the people who cared about him.

The rest meant nothing to him.

Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh!

Several teachers rushed over, landing nearby. When they saw the lynx corpses littering the ground, their faces filled with shock.

Even though they had witnessed everything earlier, seeing a teenager casually slaughter C-rank demonic beasts still felt unreal.

At that moment, Liu Yue hurried over with the rest of the class. Trailing behind them was Wang Qiang, pale and trembling.

Seeing Ning Feng completely unharmed, Liu Yue finally let out a relieved breath.

Only now did the other students fully realize—

Everything Ning Feng had said earlier was true.

He hadn't exaggerated. He hadn't lied.

Otherwise, there was no way someone at only level ten could have cleared so many giant lynxes.

Compared to the so-called "class number one" Wang Qiang—who had even suggested sacrificing classmates—Ning Feng now seemed impossibly tall and dependable.

"So Ning Feng was the real top student all along…"

"Yeah. That so-called number one even wanted the weakest student to be bait…"

"Thinking I ever admired Wang Qiang makes me sick."

The students finally understood—

Ning Feng's low profile wasn't weakness.

True strength didn't need to show off.

At the very back of the group, Wang Qiang forced a cold snort.

"Hmph. I already knew Ning Feng was strong."

"What I said earlier about using the weakest student as bait was just a joke. What—can't you take a joke?"

He shot Ning Feng a hostile glance.

"Don't get cocky. I just didn't feel like acting earlier. If I had, killing those lynxes would've been faster than you."

By now, no one bothered responding.

Everyone had seen Wang Qiang's true colors.

Liu Yue suddenly pretended to look shocked.

"Ah! Look—there are still a few giant lynxes running over here!"

Wang Qiang instantly screamed, grabbing a nearby student and yanking him in front as a human shield.

That single action earned him nothing but contempt.

In contrast, Ning Feng's image only grew taller in everyone's eyes.

Too lazy to deal with such a clown, Ning Feng turned to Teacher Wang.

"Teacher, we're dismissed now, right?"

The teachers were still shaken from the attack. Hearing this, Teacher Wang snapped back to reality and nodded stiffly.

"Y–Yes… class is dismissed…"

Just then, rapid footsteps echoed through the campus.

The city shelter's security forces arrived at last.

The captain froze when he saw the ground covered in lynx corpses. He exchanged stunned looks with his team—every one of them shaken.

With reinforcements present, Ning Feng shrugged and prepared to leave, already thinking about logging in again the next day.

But Principal Wang suddenly grabbed his arm.

"Ning Feng, your overall combat strength… should already be at high-stage Genin, right?"

"Reaching this level on your very first day in the game… that's terrifying."

"Elite high schools like Qinglong have the authority to allocate special resources."

"To thank you for today, I'll apply for additional resource support for you—so your growth in the game will be even faster."

Then he took out a ninjutsu scroll and handed it to Ning Feng.

"Take this. Only someone like you could possibly master it."

Ning Feng paused.

He suddenly remembered—ninjutsu scrolls obtained in the game could be sold for astronomical prices in reality.

Unrolling the scroll, his eyes narrowed.

Written on it was one of Kakashi's signature techniques:

Chidori.

Yes—

An A-rank Lightning Release jutsu: Chidori.

Ning Feng was just worrying about lacking a decisive, high-burst finishing move like Raikiri.

And now—

It had arrived.
