[Ding! Task completed. Silver Glow Flow has been issued.]
"Good work, Levi." Lynn gently patted the Phoenix's wings.
Levi affectionately rubbed against his fingers, her voice drifting over. "Hehe~ It wasn't hard. I'm just glad I could help Master — and her."
Looking at the Unicorn before him, whose breathing had stabilized and was no longer in mortal danger, Lynn nodded in satisfaction.
Still, he felt it wasn't safe enough. Following the principle of seeing things through to the end, he pulled several bottles and jars from his pocket.
"Come, come. You've just recovered from a serious injury — you need proper nourishment."
Muttering to himself, Lynn skillfully uncorked a bottle of shimmering, iridescent Nutritional Potion, poured out some tonic that smelled faintly of sunshine, and even added half a bottle of Cheering Potion.
After such a terrifying ordeal, the Unicorn probably needed psychological comfort as well.
He carefully propped up her head and poured the potions in.
Gulp, gulp—
The liquid slid smoothly down her throat.
Before long, the effects began to show. The Unicorn's previously weak aura grew noticeably stronger. Her eyelashes fluttered, and she slowly opened her eyes.
"Where… is this?" An ethereal, slightly trembling female voice sounded.
Seeing this, Lynn's mischievous side surfaced again. He leaned in and said in a deadpan tone, "You're awake? Congratulations. The surgery was a success. You are now a cute boy."
Startled by the sudden voice and looming figure, the Unicorn struggled to her feet. Though her limbs were still weak, she forced herself into a guarded stance.
Her eyes swept the unfamiliar surroundings, filled with confusion and unease.
"This isn't the Forbidden Forest… Where is the terrifying wizard who was chasing me? Who… who are you?"
"Relax, relax." Lynn raised both hands to show he meant no harm. "This is my trunk. It's very safe. That dark figure chasing you has already fled. As for who I am—"
He straightened his back, adopting an exceptionally righteous tone.
"I am your savior! If I hadn't arrived in time and exhausted myself dragging you back from the brink of death, you would have joined your ancestors by now."
He gestured dramatically at the empty bottles scattered on the ground.
"Look at these! All very precious potions. And I used every single one on you!"
"Savior…" the Unicorn murmured softly.
She looked at the empty bottles, felt the strength gradually returning to her body, and sensed the wound on her neck — though faintly sore — had been thoroughly purified and healed.
The wariness in her eyes slowly turned into gratitude… and a trace of embarrassment.
"Um… thank you. I will repay your kindness."
"Oh, please." Lynn waved a hand magnanimously. "No need to talk about repayment. That's too formal."
He paused.
"Of course… if you really feel bad and insist on showing your appreciation — Galleons or Silver Sickles are both fine. I'm not picky."
The Unicorn: "…"
She fell silent, seemingly making a decision.
Then she lowered her head.
The spiraled horn on her forehead — a symbol of purity and magic — began to glow faintly. A moment later, like a ripened fruit detaching naturally from its stem, it separated cleanly from the base and fell lightly to the ground before Lynn.
Lynn's eyes widened. His jaw nearly dropped.
"Wait— what?! Unicorns can do that?! It just falls off automatically?! This completely contradicts Magizoology!"
He distinctly remembered the books never mentioning such a thing.
"I don't have the currency you mentioned…" the Unicorn said softly. "But this should be enough to express my gratitude, right?"
"Not picky! Not picky at all! Hehehe…"
Lynn scooped up the horn carefully. It was smooth as jade and warm to the touch. He cradled it in both hands, his face glowing with delight.
This was premium material — always in demand.
[Ding! Task completed. Final Corruption has been issued.]
The system notification rang out again.
Lynn froze briefly — then realization struck, and his eyes lit up.
Good grief! So the two tasks weren't mutually exclusive!
It depended on the process?
Saving her granted a healing reward… and obtaining the horn granted a curse-type reward?
System… you really are the best.
He happily stored the horn away before turning back to the Unicorn.
"Rest here for tonight. It's completely safe. Tomorrow, I'll take you back to the Forbidden Forest."
"Alright. Thank you again for saving me, respected… er…"
The Unicorn realized she still didn't know his name.
"Lynn."
"Anya."
When Lynn emerged from the trunk, it was already quite late.
He glanced around the empty dormitory.
Of the three who had gone to detention, not one had returned.
Just then—
"Beep beep beep~ You have one unread message."
Right. Signals didn't reach inside the trunk.
Lynn pulled out his phone. It was a message from William.
"We're all in the School Infirmary. Madam Pomfrey said we're suffering from shock and required us to stay overnight for observation. It's fine. Don't worry."
Lynn stared at the message and rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
So I'm the one who actually fought… yet the bystanders ended up in the infirmary? That seems slightly unreasonable.
The next morning, in the Hogwarts Great Hall.
Lynn leisurely enjoyed his pumpkin juice, bacon, and eggs while rumors about the Forbidden Forest incident spread like wildfire — each version more exaggerated than the last.
"Have you heard? Last night, Harry Potter single-handedly drove off a powerful Dark Wizard in the Forbidden Forest and saved a Unicorn!" a Gryffindor first-year said excitedly.
"That's not right. I heard from Slytherin that it was William Smith from Hufflepuff who scared the Dark Wizard away," another student argued.
"You're all wrong." A Ravenclaw adjusted their glasses with an air of authority. "My cousin is on the Student Council. He said Headmaster Dumbledore personally took action, captured the Dark Wizard, and sent him to Azkaban."
Lynn's lips twitched as he listened to the increasingly outrageous stories, but he couldn't care less.
The truth didn't matter.
He had already obtained what he wanted.
After finishing his breakfast, he wiped his mouth and stood, heading toward the School Infirmary to check on his "traumatized" roommates.
Knock, knock, knock—
"Come in," William's voice called from inside.
Lynn pushed the door open.
Several pairs of eyes turned to stare directly at him.
"Oh. Good morning, everyone."
