Chapter 19 - Chapter 18: Rescue Training

Momo Yaoyorozu seemed to trust Orion completely. After a few brief words, she went downstairs alone without even drafting a proper battle plan.

Orion leaned somewhat helplessly against the large metal container, monitoring her movements through the wireless earpiece.

BOOM!!!

Suddenly, a loud blast erupted through Orion's earpiece, accompanied by a heavy amount of static from electrical interference.

"Did she fail?" Orion straightened up and pressed a button on his headset. "Momo, can you hear me?"

"I'm fine, but one of them is heading up. Be careful," Momo Yaoyorozu's voice sounded a bit strained. "Sorry, it looks like the 'plan' failed."

"...You never actually told me there was a plan." Orion felt speechless. He stretched his limbs. "Whatever works."

Zzzzt... Zzzzt...

Just as Orion finished speaking, the sound of crackling electricity echoed from ahead. Following that came the confident voice of Denki Kaminari.

"I'll be taking the nuclear weapon!"

BOOM!!!

In the next second, the heavy door ahead was blasted open. Stone fragments flew and dust filled the air, obscuring Orion's vision.

"You want this metal thing? You'll have to get past me first." Orion's eyes suddenly turned crimson. His figure vanished from the spot instantly, and he landed a punch directly into Denki Kaminari's stomach.

Thud!

"Ugh..." Denki Kaminari clutched his stomach, a look of agony on his face, but he soon realized that it didn't hurt as much as he had imagined.

As the dust settled, Orion stood beside Denki Kaminari with his arms crossed, watching him steadily.

"I know your Quirk is Hypnosis. I'm guessing the condition for activating it is looking directly into someone's eyes," Denki Kaminari kept his head down and suddenly exerted force through his legs. "I just won't look at your eyes!"

Despite Denki Kaminari's words, Orion remained stationary and unmoved, watching as the boy lunged to wrap his arms around the nuclear weapon.

"I win!" Denki Kaminari looked up and shouted in excitement, but the buzzer signaling the end of the exercise never rang.

"Eh?" Denki Kaminari blinked and pressed the button on his earpiece. "Jiro-chan?"

"There are still three minutes until this exercise ends." Orion walked unhurriedly over to Denki Kaminari and sat down. "Want to chat?"

"Could it be?!!" Denki Kaminari seemed to realize something as his pupils contracted. "Orion, I clearly didn't look at your eyes, how did you..."

"Who said I specifically needed eye contact?" The corners of Orion's mouth curled upward. "From the moment you entered this room and looked at me, you lost."

Outside in the monitor room, All Might and the other students watched in confusion as Denki Kaminari stood frozen in place, his expression blank.

"...Is he hypnotized?" Katsuki Bakugo stared at the large screen, finding it hard to believe. "What did Orion actually do? Does his hypnosis not require a medium?"

"If there is a medium, it should be the eyes, but young Kaminari didn't look into young Orion's eyes," All Might rubbed his chin, muttering to himself. "This is quite strange."

Time passed second by second. Trapped within the Illusion, Denki Kaminari tried every method he could think of, yet he still couldn't find his way out.

Finally, the buzzer for the end of the exercise sounded, marking the Villain team as the victors.

"It's over." Within the Illusion, Orion smiled slightly and snapped his fingers. Everything around them shattered instantly.

In reality, Denki Kaminari finally snapped out of it. He rubbed his eyes and found that nothing around him had changed, except for the fact that he had been standing by the door the entire time without moving an inch.

"...My god, what kind of Quirk is that?" Denki Kaminari let out a long sigh, his mouth twitching slightly. "Orion, based on what happened in that Illusion, isn't your Quirk basically invincible?"

"Maybe." Orion turned and waved at Denki Kaminari. "I'm heading back first."

During the remaining time, the battles for the other groups proceeded in an orderly fashion. By around 3:30 PM, all the matches had concluded perfectly.

As for the results, besides Izuku Midoriya being severely injured, the others either had minor injuries or were completely unharmed.

Following that, All Might ended the Hero Basic Training early for an incredibly bizarre reason, which resulted in the twenty students of Class 1-A staying in the classroom for self-study until 5:00 PM before going home.

Over the next few days, U.A. High School and the rest of Japan remained peaceful, with no major incidents occurring.

The only thing that could be considered "news" was that reporters had somehow discovered All Might was teaching at U.A., leading them to surround the school so tightly that they even triggered the security alarms.

Left with no choice, the teachers had to take a firm stance in turning them away, making up various strange excuses about All Might not being at work that day until the situation was finally controlled.

Today's Hero Basic Training was special. It was to be supervised by three teachers: Shota Aizawa, All Might, and another instructor.

Shota Aizawa stood at the podium, his eyes bloodshot. "What we will be conducting today is rescue training for natural disasters, floods, and other accidents."

Hearing this news, the class began to buzz with excitement again. Some felt it would be tough, while others grew increasingly thrilled.

"Hey, I'm not finished yet. This time, you can choose your costumes at your own discretion, since some of your original suits might be restrictive for specific activities." Shota Aizawa tapped the lectern lightly, and the room quieted down a bit.

"The training site is a bit far from here, so we'll be taking a bus. That's all. Everyone, get ready."

"OH!"
