The flight to Greece was thirteen hours of pure luxury—first class seats that converted to beds, champagne Emma barely touched because she was too excited, Alexander's hand never leaving hers except when absolutely necessary.
"I've never been to Europe," Emma admitted as they soared over the Atlantic. "Never been anywhere, really. Couldn't afford it."
"Then we'll go everywhere." Alexander pulled up a map on the screen in front of them. "Greece this time. Maybe Italy next. Japan. Australia. Anywhere you want."
"I just want two weeks without checking our phones every five minutes. Without worrying about board meetings or foundation events or—" Emma stopped herself. She hadn't told Alexander about the man outside their building. Had convinced herself it was nothing, paranoia, stress from the wedding.
"Or?" Alexander prompted.
"Or anything. I just want us. Alone. Finally." Emma kissed him. "Is that selfish?"
