Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Mutated Martial Soul

Within the six-pointed star formation, Zhu Ziyang extended his right hand, and a faint Light Attribute aura manifested.

He held his palm facing upwards, a white light shimmered, and the next second, a white scythe appeared in his hand, radiating a sacred glow—a symbol of light.

Zhu Ziyang stared at the scythe in his palm, momentarily stunned.

The moment the scythe appeared, Zhu Changhe let out a huge sigh of relief, a brilliant smile spreading across his face; the seventh generation of the Old Zhu family was secured. Although Liang Ying was somewhat disappointed, she was also very happy. Even if her son hadn't awakened the same Spirit as her, it was enough that he could become a Spirit Master. While the Old Zhu family's Spirit was common, every generation consistently had three to four levels of innate spirit power, which was very stable.

"Wow, is this a Spirit?"

"Brother Yang's Spirit is a scythe, it looks so cool!"

"I wonder what my Spirit will be?"

"I'm so nervous!"

"..."

Seeing Zhu Ziyang successfully awaken his Spirit, the children were all excited and started chattering.

However, none of this concerned Zhu Ziyang, who was intently focused on his own Spirit—a pure white scythe. It wasn't an agricultural scythe, but a combat-oriented one.

The slender scythe handle looked like it was forged from silver, entirely pure white, inscribed with intermittent, indecipherable patterns. The back of the scythe blade was initially wide, narrowing towards the tip, which was a barbed spike with a blood groove, suitable for stabbing. The entire blade was brightly polished, and at its rear was a ring-shaped sub-blade, used for balancing weight on both sides and also for attacking. The scythe handle passed through the center of both, making them appear as one. The tip of the scythe handle was sharpened like a spearhead, carved with a light-colored skull, which was quite eerie.

Overall, it was a very standard war scythe, but the rich Light Attribute aura it emitted indicated that it was, in fact, far from ordinary.

This was his Spirit, Radiant Scythe!

Information about the Spirit surfaced in Zhu Ziyang's mind.

Radiant Scythe, a mutated form of the Obscure Scythe Spirit, a single character difference, yet it marked the distinction between a high-grade Spirit and an ordinary one.

Clearly, the Radiant Scythe Spirit possessed the Light Attribute, making it a high-grade Spirit.

Although the Zhu family's Obscure Scythe Spirit possessed light elements, they were very faint, only considered an incomplete Light Attribute. However, Zhu Ziyang's Radiant Scythe Spirit possessed a complete Light Attribute. According to elemental affinity theory, the Obscure Scythe's light element affinity was less than ten, while the Radiant Scythe's light element affinity would inevitably exceed thirty, satisfying the definition of an attribute Spirit.

Zhu Ziyang was incredibly excited, and... he glanced at his left hand, a flicker of excitement in his heart.

"Haha, an Obscure Scythe Spirit just like Brother Changhe? Not bad, not bad." Hong Zhen hadn't noticed the difference in Zhu Ziyang's Spirit, but it didn't stop him from being happy with the result. Indeed, having Zhu Ziyang awaken first was the right choice, a good start! He grinned and said, "Come on, Xiao Yang, let's see what your innate spirit power is."

Hong Zhen had already assumed Zhu Ziyang possessed spirit power.

Zhu Ziyang was also eager to know his innate spirit power. He instinctively retracted his Spirit and quickly walked over to another device Hong Zhen had brought out.

It was a blue crystal ball, the most basic spirit power testing device, known as a spirit power testing crystal.

"Just place your hand on it," Hong Zhen said.

Zhu Ziyang did as he was told, placing his right palm on the crystal ball. Soon, the crystal ball began to glow. Seeing this, Zhu Changhe and Liang Ying's hearts finally settled. The crystal ball's light slowly intensified, quickly filling the entire sphere, and then, a brilliant radiance burst forth!

Seeing this, Hong Zhen's eyes widened instantly. He involuntarily took a few steps forward, his gaze fixed on the brightly glowing crystal ball, muttering, "Oh my goodness, it's... it's innate full spirit power!"

"Big Brother Hong, is it really innate full spirit power?!" Zhu Changhe and Liang Ying had already gathered around, asking Hong Zhen, their eyes filled with pleasant surprise and excitement.

"Yes, it's indeed innate full spirit power!" Hong Zhen looked at Zhu Changhe and Liang Ying with envy, affirming, "I've lived for almost forty years, and this is the first time I've seen innate full spirit power! This is the first innate full spirit power in Anyang City! Brother Changhe, you and your wife are truly blessed!"

"That's wonderful, that's wonderful, Changhe, Changhe, look, our Yang Yang has innate full spirit power!" Liang Ying exclaimed, grabbing Zhu Changhe's arm excitedly.

"Hiss~ I see it! Don't pinch me! Ow~" Although Zhu Changhe was also very excited, he was calmer than his wife and didn't lose his composure too much.

Zhu Ziyang also widened his eyes, staring intently at the spirit power testing crystal, a look of surprise and pride on his face. A mutated high-grade Spirit plus innate full spirit power—this was the definite standard for a Titled Douluo-level powerhouse. In the historical biographies he had read, most of the top powerhouses who left their mark on history had innate full spirit power.

Now, such talent had fallen upon him, making Zhu Ziyang, who was already unwilling to be ordinary, extremely excited.

Zhu Ziyang looked at his excited parents, the shocked Hong Zhen, his childhood friend with eyes full of adoration, and the other children with envious expressions. He suddenly enjoyed this feeling of being the center of attention.

He was led aside by his parents. As he passed Jiang Nannan, he gave her a 'go for it' gesture, and Jiang Nannan responded with a sweet smile before walking into the six-pointed star formation under Hong Zhen's guidance.

"Good son, you truly are Mommy's treasure!" Liang Ying pulled Zhu Ziyang into her embrace, her beautiful face filled with excitement.

"I never thought my son would actually have innate full spirit power!" Zhu Changhe also exclaimed, his face, like Liang Ying's, filled with excitement and joy.

"Good son, this afternoon I'll have your dad take you to hunt for your first spirit ring! That way, my son will be a six-year-old one-ring Spirit Master, hehehe~" Liang Ying started giggling, her earlier frustration about Zhu Ziyang not having the Snow Dragon Lizard Spirit completely vanished.

"No!"

"Don't!"

Liang Ying was full of anticipation, but she didn't expect Zhu Changhe and Zhu Ziyang, father and son, to reject her suggestion simultaneously.

"Huh? Why?" Liang Ying's expression immediately fell. She looked at Zhu Changhe with dissatisfaction and confusion, asking.

"Oh, wife, you're too impatient," Zhu Changhe said somewhat helplessly. "Hunting for the first spirit ring is no small matter; it'll take at least three days. We can't just leave right away, can we? Don't we need to go back and prepare dry food and luggage?"

"That's right, Mom. And I haven't even decided which Spirit Beast to choose for my first spirit ring yet. You have to let me go back and plan first!" Zhu Ziyang also said.

"This... fine! I can't win against you two, so I'll listen to you." Liang Ying, though a little unhappy after hearing what the father and son said, understood that she had been too hasty, so she agreed.

Upon hearing this, the father and son breathed a sigh of relief, exchanged glances, and shared a knowing smile.
