Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 – The Girl Who Crossed the Line

It was raining in Neo-Seongnam. The rain fell quietly over Neo-Seongnam. Neo-Seongnam was really getting a lot of rain.

Kang Ji-Hoon stood on the hospital rooftop. Looked at the water drops sliding down the glass railing. The city lights were blurry below them. His body was still sore. This pain was something he knew well by now. It was a feeling he had gotten used to. It was almost nice to have it around. Kang Ji-Hoon felt this pain all the time. It was something that reminded him of what he had been, through.

This meant that he was actually alive.

The knight was standing behind him. He looked like a shadow that was made out of steel. The knight just stood there still and quiet like a shadow.

Ji-Hoon spoke softly "People are watching Ji-Hoon and the others now."

The knight did not say that was not true. The knight just kept quiet, about the thing. The knight did not deny it.

The System stopped working for a second. Then it came back on. The System was not working right.

Ji-Hoon looked really unhappy he frowned.

"Multiple…?"

The rooftop door opened before he had a chance to think any more, about what was going on.

The man did not turn.

You should not be standing up yet. You really need to be careful and not stand up at this time. Standing is not an idea, for you right now.

Choi Hae-In's voice.

Ji-Hoon let out a breath. "You should not be ignoring the rules of the hospital " he said to the hospital staff talking about the hospital rules. The hospital rules are important. You have to follow the hospital rules.

She walked closer to him. Then she stopped beside him.

For a moment the woman and the man did not say a word.

The sound of the rain filled the silence, between the woman and the man.

The woman told me that I turned down every offer, from the guilds. I did not accept any of them not the guilds that are really good and well known.

I told you that I would do it. I remember saying that I would.

Being that stubborn can get people killed. This type of stubbornness is bad news. It is the kind of thing that can get the person who is being stubborn killed. Stubbornness like that is very dangerous. It can have terrible consequences, for the person who is being stubborn.

Ji-Hoon finally looked at her. He said "You came all the way here just to tell me that Ji-Hoon thought to himself. Then he asked her "You followed Ji-Hoon here to say that?"

Hae-In hesitated.

"…No."

She put her hand into her coat pocket. Pulled out a little crystal disk. This crystal disk was see through. It was making a quiet humming noise.

The woman said "I have a scanner". This personal scanner does not connect to the Bureau. The personal scanner has no tracking and the personal scanner has no reports.

Ji-Hoons eyes got really small. He said "Why are you giving Ji-Hoon this thing?"

She said this softly "Because next time you fall down I might not be around to help you."

The sound of the rain was really loud. It felt like the rain was pounding against everything. The rain was so loud that it was almost deafening. The rain just kept coming down. It felt like it was getting louder and louder.

Ji-Hoon took the disk but the moment the disk touched his hand the System reacted badly. The System just went crazy when Ji-Hoon had the disk in his hand.

[Foreign Support Detected]

The person is alone and they are, in a spot their situation is threatened.

The crystal really cracked. It was the crystal that got cracked.

Hae-In stopped moving all of a. She said "I did not do that."

Ji-Hoon let it go away. The pieces that were broken came crashing down to the floor. Ji-Hoon had just released it. Now the floor was covered in these broken pieces.

Now you know he said in a voice. The reason I stay by myself is because I like being alone. I stay alone.

Hae-In looked at him. You could tell something was going on inside her head. She was scared and curious at the time. It also seemed like she was starting to feel something, for him, which made her a little uncomfortable.

The woman said to me in a voice that I am cursed.

"No " Ji-Hoon said. "I am not allowed to do that because I am restricted. The thing is, I have restrictions. My situation is that I am restricted."

The eyes of the man met the eyes of the woman.

The System just stopped working for a short time like one second and it was really quiet. The System was not making any noise all.

Then—

A sharp pain stabbed through Ji-Hoon's head.

The world really tilted. It was like everything was turned down. The world. Nothing seemed right anymore. The world. I felt like I was losing my balance.

The man saw a lot of images. These images filled up his vision. He could not look away, from the images. The images were all he could see.

A throne of black iron.

Knights kneeling—thousands of them.

A crown is stained with blood. This is a sad thing to see. The crown is supposed to be a symbol of power and beauty. Now it is stained with blood. The blood, on the crown is a reminder of something that happened. The crown that was once shiny and nice is now stained with blood.

This is a memory thing, from Legion that got turned on by force. It is called a Legion Memory Fragment. It was activated when it was not supposed to be.

Ji-Hoon stumbled and almost fell over his legs felt really weak. Ji-Hoon was not okay he was really struggling to stay on his feet. Ji-Hoon staggered around trying to get his balance but it was not working out very well for Ji-Hoon.

Hae-In grabbed his arm without thinking. He just did it you know it was like his body reacted on its own. Hae-In caught his arm instinctively it was a move.

The knight moved fast and stepped between them. He was standing between the knight and the other person now the knight was right, in the middle. The knight was trying to stop something from happening by moving quickly and standing between them.

Not attacking.

Warning.

Hae-In let him go slowly and her heart was beating so fast. She said it reacted to her.

"Yes" Ji-Hoon said, he was breathing hard. "That is why you should keep your distance from me I mean from the people like me the people, like Ji-Hoon."

She did not look like she believed it. The woman was not convinced.

That night way down, below the city a room that was locked up tight had its lights turn on.

There is a table. The table has seven seats and four of them are empty. The other three seats are taken by people who are sitting at the round table.

The woman with the hair was smiling at the screen and it was showing Ji-Hoon. She had a smile on her face. The screen was showing Ji-Hoon and the woman, with the hair seemed happy to see Ji-Hoon.

The Host is awake now. This is a deal. The Host has. That is all people are talking about. People are really surprised that the Host has awakened.

This man had eyes that were not real they were mechanical. He tapped the table. "The people, in charge are not working together well " he said. "We can get rid of him now it will be easy."

The third figure chuckled softly. He said "No".

The man leaned forward.

Let the person grow and develop on his own. We should give the person space to learn and make his decisions so the person can become the person he is meant to be. Let the person grow.

"Why?"

The man said "because" and his eyes were shining with excitement. He thought that if the Legion really comes back...

The world really needs to remember what fear is. Fear is something that people should not forget. The world needs to remember fear so that people can be careful and think about what they do. Remembering fear is important, for the world. The world needs to remember fear.

Ji-Hoon was back, on the rooftop. He leaned against the railing. The rain was soaking his clothes. Ji-Hoon just stood there getting wet on the rooftop.

Hae-In was about to walk but then she stopped.

"Ji-Hoon."

The man looked at the woman. He really looked at the woman. The woman was standing in front of him and the man looked at her.

"I will not interfere " she said. ". I will not look away, from the situation either. The woman is going to do what she thinks is right. She will keep watching what is happening with the situation."

The woman walked off.

Ji-Hoon watched as she walked away from him. Ji-Hoon kept looking at the space where she had been standing. Ji-Hoon thought about Ji-Hoons conversation, with her.

This was the time the System did not give him a warning. The System just did nothing it did not warn him all.

Then a new line showed up.

[Variable Detected: Emotional Anchor (Unconfirmed)]

Ji-Hoon laughed softly.

"So even feelings are dangerous now."

The knight was standing next to the man. The knight was very close, to him. The knight stood beside him.

Silent.

Loyal.

And somewhere in the darkness, something ancient had started paying attention.
