Chapter 1 - Chapter One: The Silent Disconnect

Zara sat on her bed, phone in hand, scrolling through her feed. The room was quiet, and the soft glow of the screen was comforting. Her friends' posts, memes, and selfies filled the screen, each one a little snapshot of their lives. But tonight, something felt different. She noticed that her notifications were quieter than usual. Fewer likes, fewer comments. It was subtle, but it made her pause. She refreshed the page, hoping for something new, something exciting.Zara sighed and put her phone down for a moment. She glanced around her room, filled with posters and little trinkets that reflected her personality. The quietness felt strange, almost unsettling, like she was missing out on something important. She picked up her phone again and noticed a few messages from her friends—quick replies, but nothing that sparked the usual excitement. It made her wonder if she was the one who was out of sync, or if everyone else was feeling it too. As the evening went on, Zara found herself staring at the screen more and more, but with each refresh, the emptiness grew. It was like being connected, yet completely disconnected at the same time. And just as she was about to put her phone down, a notification popped up an unfamiliar name, a message that wasn't meant for anyone else. It was a simple line: "Do you ever feel invisible?" Zara's heart skipped a beat. Who sent that? And why now? She stared at the message, a tiny chill running down her spine, wondering what would come next.
