Chapter 1 - Eric

Eric is a lonely man. He has no friends and prefers to spend his time alone. He rarely goes out, except sometimes for groceries or a morning walk in the quiet streets. Technology doesn't appeal to him, and he finds social media pointless.

He spends his hours reading books or fishing by the river, where he hears only the water and the birds. But every time he looks at people around him, he feels sad; everyone seems absorbed in their phones and tablets, following AI news, and even in cafés or the subway, their attention is glued to screens.

Eric despises this empty, meaningless life. He wants a companion, someone to talk to and share moments with, but people around him no longer understand what it means to truly be with someone. Humans have become shadows of themselves, dependent on technology and distant from real, simple joys.

In his solitude, Eric often reflects on himself and the world, asking: "Have we all really become like this? Is life only about screen addiction?" He is alone, but still hopes that one day, he will find a real companion and rediscover meaning.Eric didn't know that his indifference toward technology would soon confront him with something he could no longer ignore.
