Chapter 1 - Hammers and Daggers

In a far away planet, a planet so close to the sun it can be mistaken for a second sun itself. A figure trudges in the hot sun, his feet leaving deep marks on the scorched earth as he takes each step, White bandages wrapped his body, a tattered black coat billowing to his knees, the hood concealing any hint of a face.

He walks in a slow pace heading in a straight direction alone and in silence, but he stops abruptly and tilts his head up just as a streak of light plummets from the sky right toward him with magnificent speed like no other, he leaps away as the light drops ahead of him with a heavy sound, the explosion spreading dust and heat from the place all around.

The dust settles revealing a gaping crater created where the man was standing moments ago as another hulking figure emerges from the crater. A metal man, his steel skin gleaming stands tall with a collosal hammer with strange engravings on it as he looks at the bandaged figure who was once standing where he is now, glaring daggers at him as he yells

"Did you think you could escape after killing my brothers?"

He continues to glare at the hooded man while strongly clutching his hammer in one hand.

The hooded figure simply stands motionless and unyielding seeming to gaze at the huge metal man before him even though his face is covered and shows no sign of him being able to see, talk or even breathe through it.

Anger and disdain is written on the metal man's face as he surges forward, one leg leaving a deep mark on the earth as he charges forward toward the hooded figure in frightening speed with his hammer. Just before the hammer makes impact with the chest of the hooded man, he twists left, narrowly dodging the hammer as its impact devastates the land, immediately after dodging the metal man's strike a small silver dagger flies out of his hand streaking accurately to the neck of the metal man in a split second, as the dagger lands, it bounces off the neck of the man with a dull "click" sound where the man appears unharmed and unbothered by the attempt. The metal man grabs the dagger and with a loud "crunch" the dagger is mere pieces as it is crushed by the metal man's fist, he drops the remains of the metal to the ground, as he does he calls out to the hooded man saying "Fool you think this will hurt me?, I am the sovereign of hammers".

Just as he finishes saying it two more daggers clatter harmlessly away from his neck. He grunts and lunges at the hooded man with his large hammer as he throws more daggers bouncing harmlessly from his neck, he strikes with his large hammer which only devastates the earth as the hooded figure barely swerves out of reach everytime he swings his hammer but the sovereign of hammers doesn't falter one bit as he rages on still swinging the large hammer at the hooded man and right before he could completely avoid one of the many swings the once large hammer shrinks to a medium size and the man once again swings at him but the hooded man barely ducks in time to avoid the hammer coming to the right side of his face, as he raises his head he sees two short handed hammers aiming for his head and once again twists to his side while letting more daggers flying to the neck of the sovereign perhaps as a distraction or to offer chance for an escape but the sovereign continues his onslaught unbothered by any of the hooded man's daggers, the sovereign continues his barrage as the hooded man expertly avoids every one of his attacks while still throwing seemingly endless daggers, as the fight goes on the distance between them grows, noticing this the huge man throws his two short handed hammers at the hooded man with frightening speed as another two appear in both his hands at once which he sends flying to the hooded man again as the metal man leapt, summoning twin massive hammers, their engravings flaring as they descended in sync with the four smaller ones, boxing the figure in.

"I have you now, you rat!"he growled, a grin splitting his face.

The hammers crash down, but the hooded figure is nowhere, leaving only smoke in his wake. The metal man landed heavily, stunned, his massive frame frozen mid-step. The smoke surges closer, reforming into the hooded figure, who drives his fist into the Sovereign's chin with a resounding thunk. Cracks spiderweb across the metal man's face, the imprint of the punch gleaming.

With a swift kick, the figure targets the giant's knee, bending it inward with a sickening crunch. The Sovereign staggers, his weight shaking the scorched battlefield, but his cracks soon start to seal one after another with a metallic screech, his leg snapping back into place.

"You'll join my brothers in the dust!" he roars, but just as he's about to charge the hooded man leaps, driving both feet into the metal man's face and pushes back with full force sending the sovereign staggering back as he creates space between him and the metal man once again.

Immediately the hooded man's feet land on the ground he sends four daggers streaking straight to the metal man with two hitting his neck and two hitting his eyes with precision and bouncing off with a dull clink.

Undeterred, the figure draws a long dagger, its blade pulsing with a sinister dark aura. His bandaged hands move with eerie calm, hurling it with lethal force.

The sovereign stands finally spotting the dagger's high-speed approach. The sinister dagger streaks toward the Sovereign, its black aura pulsing with menace.

He grits his teeth sensing the danger the dagger poses unlike the others the hooded man has thrown so far, he shifts his massive weight barely dodging as it grazes the right side of his neck and sails past him with a faint hiss as the dagger embedded on the scorched earth far away.

He smirks masking a flicker of unease as he thinks to himself "that was nothing much after all" .

He thought to himself just as his grazed neck ruptures with a "splurt" sound and a thick metal colored liquid gushes staining his body and ground below.

The sovereign clenches his jaw in pain and goes to cover the wound but before his hand reaches the shrouded figure materializes from a swirl of smoke, delivering an uppercut that dents the Sovereign's chin.

The giant shouts, stumbling back, his wound worsening. man is already upon him as if appearing out of thin air, he sends an uppercut right to his jaw making the giant shout in pain, worsening his wound making him stumble back.

The hooded figure lunges to strike once more, but the sovereign reacts, summoning multiple hammers from thin air.

They streak toward the figure at top speed, but the hooded man dodges swiftly trying to close the distance to the wounded sovereign who looks panicked as he clutches his wound.

The sovereign sends out more hammers straight at the hooded figure who dodges the onslaught. The sovereign in panick in his eyes, raises his hands to the sky as he shouts "chaotic freefall" as gigantic mauls plummet from above down to the scorched earth.

The sovereign shouts once more "chaotic hammer ascent" and more gigantic hammers errupt from the sand below.

A giant hammer surges beneath the hooded man launching him up in high speed where another giant hammer is coming down aiming to crush him in between, even with the intense pressure he sprints across it's surface leaving deep cracks on the surface as he sees another hammer plummeting nearby.

The shrouded figure leaps to a plummeting maul, using it as a springboard. Just as the two mauls behind collide with a deafening crash, he vaults to another hammer, propelling himself up with eerie calm setting his sights on the sovereign. Across the scorched and chaotic battlefield, the Sovereign clutches his gushing neck, metallic liquid staining his hand, muttering, "Come on, heal, dammit!"as multiple small and medium hammers swirl around him puksing in bright blue runes moving in sync as shields to block any attack.

The hooded man far away vaults from hammer to hammer weaving expertly through several mauls seeking an opening in the Sovereign's shield of hammers.

The shrouded figure springs up above another hammer in the sky, his sights on the sovereign.

He curls his index and ring fingers in a gesture perhaps to summon a dagger but nothing comes as he falls he uses another giant hammer as a foothold to launching himself in to the sky once again this time he shifts the full weight of his body launching another long menacing dagger suddenly appearing from his hand oozing with dark aura.

The dagger whizzes across the field in fluid motion threading through a gap avoiding each and every one of the medium, big and giant sized hammers as it heads straight to where the metal man stands clutching his wound muttering to himself "why won't it heal" as metallic liquid continue to gush from his neck.

The Sovereign, clutching his gushing neck, spots the dagger slipping through. He summons more mauls, their runes flaring, and crosses his hands over his neck as the dagger pierces and penetrates the hammers on it's path heading right to the metal man's neck.

The dagger pierces his crossed arms before it stops, the Sovereign's huge arms now pinned by the dagger.

The Sovereign sighs letting his hands fall away from his neck where the tip of the long dagger stopped almost grazing throat.

Hands still pinned together he grits his teeth as he stands and glares at the hooded man who silently stares down at him from the top of a plummeting hammer. Gnashing his teeth in pain he opens his mouth to shout but nothing comes out but an "urk" as the sovereign chokes metallic liquid spilling from his mouth, he looks down only to find a long dagger, the same dagger that grazed his neck and was embedded into the earth now pulsing with dark aura lodged into his neck perhaps having heard the call of the hooded man with his earlier gesture.

The tip of the long and menacing dagger jutting through the Sovereign's throat, his face twisting in agony, pain and shock as he falls to his knees, the mauls runes dimming.

The shrouded figure lands silently as all around him hammers big, small, and giant alike fall from the sky littering the scorched earth.

The Sovereign still on his knees in agony footsteps approach, he looks up seeing the hooded man, he tries to talk but nothing comes out as he chokes silver blood spilling.

The hooded man approaches raising his empty right hand, a red-hilted sword flickers into his grasp, pulsing with the same dark menacing aura as the daggers, He slashes in one fluid motion severing the metal man's head clean off, silver blood gushing and spraying.

The blade in his hands vanishing as swiftly as it appeared as the man.

The hooded figure stands staring silently as the Sovereign's body cracks and crumbles rusting and turning to dust as the long menacing daggers clatter to the ground. With a curl of his fingers, he summons them back, and as they whizz back they vanish just as they reach him like the sword before.

Without a word the hooded man continues his journey, leaving behind the scorched area with hammers of all shapes and sizes strewn across the once empty field his gaze fixed on the Smoldering Ridge, its distant slopes cloaked in haze, mistaken for a mountain yet pulsing with faint, fiery light.
