Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Deepening Bond

The sun shone through the window of my bedroom.

The light grazed my skin, and I woke up feeling mostly refreshed.

Most of the scenes from yesterday were fading, but I still remembered them clearly.

I washed up and headed down for breakfast before sprinting to school once more.

I was starting to realize something—my connection with the animals was deepening.

Especially with Bart.

It seemed the more affectionate they felt for me, the deeper the bond became.

The stronger the bond, the stronger the power feedback I received.

I knew that if I hit a full 100 percent connection, I could tap into their powers anywhere on Earth.

It was just one more reason to become a zoologist.

School was the same normal, boring routine until a teacher dropped an impromptu test on us.

I didn't panic. I just used the ants.

Like a "good kid," I watched as they scurried over to Peter's test paper.

I copied his answers. Then I double-checked them against Gwen Stacy's paper just to be safe.

When we submitted the tests, I walked out with a wide grin spread across my face.

Peter noticed immediately. "Dude, why are you grinning like an idiot?"

I was stunned. Since when did Peter start talking like that?

I looked at him like he was a bizarre phenomenon.

"Please," Peter joked, noticing my look. "We all get loose sometimes."

I waved it off, and soon it was time for Biology.

I was just as engaging as Peter during that hour. We were both shining.

After school, it was finally time to test my upgrades.

I used my most loyal follower: an ant I named Penny.

I started with a brutal routine of push-ups, sit-ups, and other exercises.

I did the full Saitama-style workout.

I felt the burn.

My routine continued for a few days before I started seeing massive changes.

My strength had jumped from 50x to a solid 80x my body weight.

My control had vastly improved.

Then came the news: a school trip to Oscorp.

The birthplace of Spider-Man.

I was excited, but I knew the villains that came with it wouldn't be easy.

From the Green Goblin to the animal hunters like Kraven.

But they weren't my main concern.

My true goal was to stop that purple potato, Thanos, from snapping his fingers.

The rest? I could handle.

In the meantime, I was getting used to the killing.

I had done it several more times. It was becoming like an addiction.

I knew I needed to stop before I turned into a mindless slaughter beast.

I was also trying to shapeshift into a cat, but it wasn't working yet.

Only my eyes would change—the rest remained stagnant.

I decided to spend the whole week training before the trip.

I even sent $12,000 to my uncle from a private account, lying that it was from an old client.

Now, it was time to prepare for the birth of a hero... and maybe buy a firearm just in case
