Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 The Gratitude-Giving Tanuki (Part 2)

Doraemon watched Nobita take food and run to the Rear Mountain to find the cave where the Raccoon Dog lived, place the food in front of the cave, and then hide to the side.

Nobita looked expectantly at the figure in the cave, "Don't be afraid! Come out and eat."

Doraemon, following behind, slowly approached Nobita and suddenly patted his shoulder.

"Ah..." Nobita was startled. He stiffly turned around and saw Doraemon behind him, letting out a sigh of relief.

"Do... Doraemon, why did you have to scare me like that?" Nobita looked at Doraemon.

Doraemon ignored Nobita and instead looked at the food, "Just as I thought! I knew you were up to something when you were acting so nervous."

With that, Doraemon stepped forward and picked up the food from the ground, "Nobita! You can't just feed wild animals, you know!"

Nobita curled his lip, not taking Doraemon's words to heart. At that moment, Nobita saw the Raccoon Dog slowly walk out from the cave behind Doraemon.

"Doraemon, look, it's coming out!" Nobita pointed excitedly behind Doraemon.

Doraemon turned to look, and a brown Raccoon Dog walked out of the cave, "Oh, it's a Raccoon Dog."

Nobita slowly approached and crouched in front of the Raccoon Dog, "This Raccoon Dog is so cute, isn't it, Doraemon?"

Doraemon looked at the Raccoon Dog and nodded, "Yeah, it really is cute."

At this moment, the Raccoon Dog looked at Doraemon's large body and his round head and torso, thinking that Doraemon was also a Raccoon Dog.

It affectionately walked up to Doraemon, sniffed him, and then rubbed against Doraemon's belly.

"Hahaha... that tickles! Stop rubbing!" Doraemon gently pushed the Raccoon Dog away, but it persistently approached again.

Nobita looked at Doraemon, then at the Raccoon Dog rubbing against him, and realized what was happening.

"Strange! It has no reaction to me at all. It seems it has mistaken Doraemon for one of its own," Nobita said mischievously.

Doraemon's face turned red with anger as he shouted, "I am NOT a Raccoon Dog!!!"

Nobita covered his mouth and giggled at the angry Doraemon.

Just then, Nobita and Doraemon heard Gian and Suneo's voices.

"Hey! Gian! Wait for me!"

Gian, holding a net, turned to look at Suneo behind him.

"Suneo, can you hurry up? How are you going to help me catch that Raccoon Dog if you're so slow?"

Suneo looked at Gian, puzzled, "By the way... why do you have to catch that Raccoon Dog anyway?"

Gian snorted coldly, "Of course, if I don't catch that Raccoon Dog, I won't be able to swallow this grudge. So after I catch it, I'm going to teach it a good lesson."

Nobita, hiding in the bushes and hearing this, said indignantly to Doraemon, "Gian and Suneo are really too much! They actually came back to bully this Raccoon Dog."

"Doraemon! Why don't we protect this Raccoon Dog together? Just think of it as helping out your own kind."

Doraemon looked at Nobita crossly, "I already told you, I'm not a Raccoon Dog."

"Nobita!!!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Gian and Suneo's voices came from a distance. "Come out! You wretched Raccoon Dog, just let This Great Master teach you a good lesson."

Nobita looked at Doraemon urgently, "Doraemon! Quick, take out your gadget."

Looking at the anxious Nobita, Doraemon curled his lip, "You only know how to boss me around!" Although Doraemon said this, he still readily took out a gadget.

Nobita looked at the emerald green leaf in Doraemon's round hand. Nobita's face was full of black lines as he looked at Doraemon, "What time is it? Doraemon! You're still playing tricks on me with a leaf."

Holding the leaf, Doraemon said proudly, "This is no ordinary leaf; it's called a transformation leaf."

"What's the use of this transformation leaf?" Nobita asked Doraemon.

"You'll see!" Doraemon said calmly, placing the transformation leaf on top of the Raccoon Dog's head.

Doraemon took some branches and leaves from the bushes to hide the Raccoon Dog's cave, then pulled Nobita to hide in the grass.

The two of them hid in the grass and watched Gian and Suneo slowly approach. Sensing danger, the Raccoon Dog turned into a rock.

After circling the area a few times, Gian and Suneo still saw no sign of the Raccoon Dog. "Suneo! Did you see that stinking Raccoon Dog over there?"

Suneo shook his head at Gian, "No! I haven't seen so much as a single hair."

"Where did that stinking Raccoon Dog go? If we can't find it here, Suneo, let's look more carefully elsewhere." With that, the two walked off into the distance.

After the two had walked away, Nobita and Doraemon came out from the grass and looked at the rock the Raccoon Dog had turned into.

"Is this the effect of the transformation leaf? It's really amazing," Nobita looked at Doraemon.

"With the transformation leaf, whenever it senses danger nearby, the transformation leaf will emit Mind Waves and make the wearer transform to protect themselves." Doraemon said as the rock in front of them turned back into a Raccoon Dog.

"This way, the Raccoon Dog can live in peace," Nobita said.

At this moment, the little Raccoon Dog looked at Doraemon gratefully, then ran over and affectionately licked Doraemon's cheek.

Nobita watched the little Raccoon Dog affectionately rubbing against Doraemon, "You're quite popular, Doraemon! I'm really a bit jealous of you."

"To be honest, it's quite a headache! I've already said I'm not a Raccoon Dog, but it still acts like this," Doraemon sighed helplessly.

Meanwhile, Lu Ming was in the Manufacturing Space, creating the conceptual-level gadget, the all-purpose printer.

Lu Ming looked at the extremely complex all-purpose printer being built piece by piece before his eyes and felt excited.

Looking at the manufacturing progress of the conceptual-level printer, Lu Ming muttered to himself, "It seems the all-purpose printer won't be finished until tomorrow."

Back at Nobita's house, Nobitas Mother was about to go out to buy groceries with a small cloth bag. As soon as she opened the door, she saw several dead fish on the doorstep.

Seeing this, Nobitas Mother cried out in surprise, "Ah... who left all these dead fish at our house?"

Nobita and Doraemon also heard their mother's cry and rushed down from the second floor.

Nobita saw the small fish on the doorstep, "Huh, where did all these fish come from?"

Doraemon also saw the small fish neatly arranged at the door, "Why would anyone leave fish at our front door?"

Her anger slightly subsided, Nobitas Mother complained, "Who on earth is playing such a prank?" Her gaze fell upon Nobita and Doraemon.

The two felt their scalps tingle and said in unison, "It... it definitely wasn't us! We didn't even go near the river today; we were just playing on the Rear Mountain."

Nobitas Mother looked at the two for a moment, and seeing no sign of lying, she let Nobita and Doraemon off.

Nobitas Mother told Nobita and Doraemon to clean up the dead fish and then left with her small cloth bag.

At that moment, in a corner of Nobita's yard, there was a rock with a leaf on its head, silently observing Nobita and Doraemon.
