Chapter 2 - ch 2 Fear in the name

Karan sat quietly in the college canteen, his coffee long forgotten. His hands trembled slightly as he scrolled through the photos again — each one of Aarav. The tattoos, the eyes, the way he stood like a man who's seen more war than peace. It didn't match the image Riya painted of a caring, quiet brother.

> "Bro, are you okay?" asked Rahul, Karan's close friend, sliding into the chair beside him.

Karan looked up slowly. "You know Riya's brother?"

> "Not really. Heard of him. Some mechanic guy, right?"

Karan leaned in and whispered, "Aarav Bhai… the ex-gang leader. The one who used to run the Night Riders in Mumbai. That Aarav is her brother."

Rahul's smile vanished.

> "Wait… That Aarav? Are you serious?"

Karan nodded.

Rahul looked around nervously and lowered his voice. "Bro, that man is not normal. He left the gang life, yes… but people still respect him like a king. He's dangerous. I've heard stories — real ones. He's beaten five guys alone, once took a bullet for his gang member and still walked out like nothing happened."

Karan exhaled. "I know. But it doesn't change how I feel about Riya."

> "You're in love with her?" Rahul raised a brow.

Karan smiled softly. "Completely."

> "Then get ready," Rahul said seriously. "Because if her brother finds out... you better hope he likes you.

Meanwhile… Back in Aarav's World

Aarav sat in his garage, staring at Riya's last message from three days ago:

"Hey bhai, I'm busy, project work. Talk later <3"

He smiled sadly. That heart emoji didn't feel the same anymore.

His best friend and assistant, Raghu, approached.

> "Still no reply?"

Aarav didn't answer.

Raghu leaned against the workbench. "You raised her like a lion, Aarav. But now she's in a jungle you don't control. And something tells me… there's a boy involved."

Aarav's knuckles tightened around the spanner.

> "If he's good for her… I'll know. But if he's not…"

He didn't finish the sentence. He didn't have to.

Love and Secrets

That night, Riya and Karan sat on a rooftop, the city lights glowing beneath them. She leaned her head on his shoulder.

> "You've been quiet all day," she said gently.

Karan hesitated. "Riya… do you ever wonder what your brother was like… before?"

She smiled. "I know he had a past. I was young, but I've heard whispers. He was feared once… but I only remember the man who tied my hair before school and made me Maggie at midnight."

Karan looked at her. "Would he ever accept someone like me?"

Riya kissed his cheek softly. "If you love me truly… he will."

But in the back of Karan's mind, Rahul's words echoed like a warning:

> "That man can destroy someone's life in silence… so be sure before you break his sister's heart."
