Gary: If they got the altered formula correctly, then yes, they would have black blood. No, they would not receive the crystal that gets lost in the Mixing of the formula in the first place. The Beast crystal is what's used in the liquid that gets injected into the person who receives this formula in the first place. Allowing the human to transform into a Beast, but their blood gets contaminated with the black blood and transforms, but it's not completely black blood.
Tsukuru: "Even if it just muddles their blood slightly, it'd still be enough for us to be able to tell who's an...you said they're called 'Altered'? Either way, the real problem isn't just figuring out who's a Pure spy; it's just how MANY we potentially have. Worst-case scenario, it might take us a considerable amount of time to 'clean house'. And that might prove difficult if, at the same time, as Shizuka just mentioned, we're too busy trying to justify our continued authority and existence to the other factions. Even with me only being allied with the Earthbound Faction and not actually a part of it, I can see that this is going to be a huge pain in the ass."
Paul: "Wait, what do you mean you're only 'allied' with the Earthbound Faction?"
Tsukuru: "I'm only here because Shizuka's here. I'm on her side, not yours. Trust me, there's a lot of you guys I can't stand. You may have dealt with Duke, but don't make the mistake of thinking that people like him aren't widespread through your faction."
Oscar: "Given the fact that Shizuka is one of the most loyal members in our whole Faction, that's essentially the same thing as you being a part of it."
Oscar went up to his watch and did a broadcast. Why throughout the entire Earthborn faction?
I hereby order a mandatory blood test to be done on all personnel. This is an order. All personnel must receive a blood test.
All of a sudden, explosions rock the entire base.
A soldier runs into the room.
Sir, we have trouble outside. The hybrids are attacking again. There seems to be even more of them. As soon as that call went out, they all started transforming, and it looks like a lot of them are retreating and leaving the base. Almost half of the military are the hybrids.
Oscar visibly pales after hearing this.
Oscar: You have to be kidding me. This is going to destroy the Earthborn; we won't have a faction after this. I have no other choice. I'm gonna have to ask the President to intervene.
Oscar opens up his watch and activates a communication to the President.
Oscar: Mr. President, I need every bit of help now. It looks like the terrorists have infested the Earthborn far more than I was expecting. I don't think we can handle this time.
The President: Well, if this is true, then there's not much left for the Earthborn to do. Consolidate your forces at this point; let us take over. I will be issuing all the other leaders to mobilize all 14 factions; we'll be Moving Out. Also, Gary, since I know you're there and hearing in on this, would you please send them out? I'm sure that they'll be very happy to feast on creatures again.
Gary: Oh yes, they would be more than happy to do it again. It'll be like the old days.
Tsukuru (sighs): "Yep, I was afraid of this, but didn't want to say anything so as not to jinx us. Although, to be perfectly honest, I never thought it would be this high a number. 20%, maybe 30% at the worst. But HALF of the military being Pure agents? That means, even on the drastically unrealistic probability that we won't lose any of our numbers dealing with the Pure agents in our ranks, we've already effectively lost half our numbers. I'd call this a travesty, but I think even that is not strong enough of a word."
Shizuka (tightens her grip around her rapier): "Unfortunately, you don't have the luxury of being able to sulk right now."
Tsukuru: "Yeah, yeah, I know. If we somehow make it out of this mess, the first thing I'm doing is downing a whole bottle of the strongest alcohol I can create. Probably vodka."
Shizuka: "Don't you hate the taste of alcohol?"
Tsukuru: "Yep. But I get the feeling that I'm gonna need it after we make it out of this clusterFrack.."
Paul: "I think we're all going to need a hard drink after this, assuming we survive that long."
Shizuka (to Tsukuru): "You sure you're ready for this, Tsu-Tsu?"
Tsukuru: "I don't really have any choice. The 'blood test' was MY idea. So while Oscar may have been the one who pulled the metaphorical trigger, I was the one who handed him the gun. In a way, this whole mess is my fault."
As a bright flash lit up the room for a second, and there standing there was Vincent.
Vincent: Good thing I made it. I'm glad that the ship was still nearby. I sent my people out, but I'm here to escort you guys out of here. The leadership of the Earth Warren needs to be in a secure location. Supreme Commander Oscar, Paul Shizuka, and student Tsukuru. Please come with me on my ship.
Another bright flash, and everyone was gone except for Gary, who stood there.
Gary: It's time to move out and deal with these pests.
On Vincent's ship.
The supreme commander could see the video footage of everything that was going on and stood there, shocked that several of the peer agents were injecting themselves and then running towards the military lines. And a bright explosion occurred at their location.
Paul: I can't believe these suicide shots. They can make themselves explode on top of our troops. This is horrifying.
But in the video footage, they could see werewolves, then vampires, Moving Out, destroying their hybrids left and right, and the military troops were finally able to retreat into a protected line. But the onslaught of deaths of the soldiers was staggering. Before any help could reach them in time, 30% of the military was gone.
Oscar, seeing these numbers, shook his head. There's not much left of the Earthborn anymore. 20% is all I have to work with. This is horrifying.
Tsukuru (to Oscar): "Not only that, but the Military still has the negative stigma from connecting to Truedream. Personally, I wouldn't hold my breath for a whole tide of people lining up to enlist. I feel like I'm in a country going through the 'wartime reconstruction' period after a great war."
Paul: "Considering just how many soldiers we lost, that might not be an inaccurate comparison."
Tsukuru: "By the way, is there any way that WE could replicate that 'Altered' formula?"
Shizuka: "You want to make MORE of those...things?"
Tsukuru: "Hey, isn't there an old Earth saying about 'never letting a good tragedy go to waste'? Besides, for all we know, these 'Altereds' may be the one 'transformation' that doesn't wipe out one's Ability like becoming a Vampire or a Werewolf does."
Vincent, hearing all of this, visibly shook his head.
Vincent: The answer to your question is yes, you can still use your abilities. Even if you got the formula you're going to, but for the love of all things, please know it's bad enough that those things are running around as is, and they're also dangerous side effects that even Richard could not fully get rid of. Even if they improve the formula, there's still a chance that the Beast side will slowly corrupt the human and eventually make them permanently Beast, and they will lose their self and their entire personality to the Beast.
The rest of Vincent's class were standing around looking at this scene.
Minx: Hey, Vincent, by any chance, can I get one of the shuttlecrafts? So I can go to my planet; my entire team and I need to start working on the shelter cause this is not gonna look pretty. Oh, with all these problems occurring, I'd rather be prepared than helpless.
Logan: Before you head out, I would like to actually modify that shuttle before you leave, and I might have a few things to help you out. That planet of yours is not exactly super safe, and it'd be pretty nice to have some tools to help you conquer it.
Vincent: I'm fine with all this; go ahead and start getting your planet sorted. But I will need some of the students here to begin preparations to head to the vampire settlement. We do start preparing for larger problems in this.
Quinn: Wait, but I'm not ready to go to the settlement yet. I still need to do more preparations, and I still need to find More family members.
Vincent: Don't worry about that part. I already helped you out with that. There are a bunch of people here who are willing to follow you and become part of your family.
Quinn: Speaking of family, can I please have her back? I can tell that you turned her into a coat.
Sil: Really? This obsession with fluffy things is going too far, honey. Okay, maybe you and me need to spend some time on the planet, and we'll work on the shelter together. Is there gonna be any issues with that, Quinn?
Quinn: That sounds like a Great plan. You 2 need to stay with each other for a long while. But I need to go deal with stuff. Apparently, in the vampire settlement, I need all my family members to come with me.
Minx: This is a shame. Do I really have to let her go? She was a great coat.
Sil: layers at her until she relents.

Back on the battlefield at the military base, one
The ninth family leader, fighting on the battlefield, saw many humans injured left and right. There, in the distance, she could see one of the humans who were fighting and severely injured. She went over and rescued her; it was Fay.
Fay: Thank you for asking me, but I don't think I have much life left in me, and many of the soldiers have been saved.
Muka: You did a great job. A lot of your soldiers have made it. The ones who couldn't be saved fought to their last. You've done your job, and yes, you're right. There isn't much time left for you, but if you want a second chance to fight. I'll be more than willing to give it to you.
Fay: If that's possible, I'm all for it; I'll take whatever I can to keep fighting. I'm making sure that everyone gets out safely.
Muka: Begins explaining the process of being turned and everything that it entails.
Faye: I accept all the risks and am more than happy to be turned no matter what I become. I will show my loyalty even if I'm not part of the military. I hope I can serve to protect humanity.
