Chapter 7 - The Skyfire burned

Amity and his warlords charged forward like a living storm.

Steel rang against steel as Elysium collided with its enemies, fury tearing through the battlefield. The warlords struck with ruthless precision, carving paths through the opposing ranks. Screams filled the air. Blood soaked the earth.

Then—

A sound unlike anything before shattered the chaos.

A deep, roaring howl from the heavens.

The wind twisted violently, pressure crashing down upon the battlefield. Soldiers staggered, weapons slipping from trembling hands.

"Look up!" someone screamed.

They did.

The sky itself seemed to be falling.

A massive meteor, burning with unnatural light, tore through the clouds, its surface cracking with glowing veins. Panic erupted. Men ran. Others froze. There was nowhere to escape.

The meteor struck.

A blinding explosion swallowed the battlefield—but instead of death, power erupted.

Flames spiraled into the air. Lightning cracked across the ground. Water surged where blood had pooled. Ice formed beneath soldiers' feet. Wind howled like a living beast.

No one had died.

Instead, they had changed.

Soldiers stared at their hands in terror and awe as abilities awakened—fire, water, air, thunder, ice, and countless others. Power surged through veins that had once known only exhaustion.

But two presences eclipsed them all.

Amity stood unmoving, bathed in a radiant glow. Light gathered around him, pure and blinding, bending to his will.

Beside him, Midnight rose slowly from the smoke, shadows coiling around his body like living chains. Darkness answered his every breath.

Light and Darkness.

The battlefield descended into hell.

With newfound power, Elysium surged forward once more—this time unstoppable. The stronger the warrior, the stronger their ability, and Elysium's warlords were monsters reborn.

Then—

A body moved among the dead.

A hand slammed into the ground.

A figure rose.

"No… it can't be—" a soldier whispered.

It was Noa.

Once again, he had survived.

His wounds sealed instantly, flesh knitting together as if time itself bent for him. His left eye burned fiercely—now marked by two vertical lines, glowing brighter than ever before.

Regeneration.

Not borrowed. Not temporary.

Absolute.

Noa exhaled—and vanished.

He tore through enemy lines like an immortal blade, every injury erased the moment it appeared. The battlefield grew bloodier than it had ever been.

Amity stepped forward.

At the far end of the ruined field stood two figures.

Jaketsu of Ryujin, his black flames devouring the air itself.

Xeno of Kuro, wind roaring violently around him, sharp enough to shred steel.

Midnight moved to join Amity.

"Don't," Amity said calmly.

"I'll handle them."

Midnight turned away, shadows flaring as he faced the remaining leaders—Legio, Hisano, and Dokuzi. The battle that followed was brutally short. Darkness swallowed their attacks whole, crushing them beneath Midnight's overwhelming power.

Amity's fight shook the battlefield.

Black fire clashed with radiant light. Wind screamed against unyielding brilliance. Jaketsu and Xeno fought together, forcing Amity back step by step—but it wasn't enough.

Amity raised his hand.

"Light of Heaven."

The sky split open.

A pillar of pure radiance descended, erasing everything in its path. The explosion ripped through the battlefield, leaving half of it reduced to scorched ruin.

When the light faded, Jaketsu and Xeno were gone.

The enemy broke.

Some fled. Many fell.

Elysium stood victorious.

The flag of Elysium was raised high above the battlefield, fluttering amid smoke and ash. Soldiers cheered. Some laughed. Others cried. They danced among the ruins, drunk on survival and power.

On the march back to Elysium's capital, the celebration continued.

Vivette walked among the soldiers, observing carefully. His conclusions were unsettling.

"The meteor didn't grant equal power," he explained. "It amplified what already existed. The stronger the person, the stronger the ability. Warlords… are on an entirely different level. And some possess rare anomalies."

But the most terrifying revelation came next.

"The meteor didn't fall only here."

Silence followed.

"It fell across every nation."

That meant Sovereign had changed as well.

Elysium returned not only with victory—but with prisoners.

Hisano of Kuro.

Rose of Silvarin.

Resemo of Ryujin.

Some soldiers and leaders were given a choice: serve Elysium… or face judgment.

Yet deep within the capital, as the celebrations echoed through the streets, Noa stood alone—his eye burning silently.

He could feel it.

Something else had awakened with the meteor.

Something far worse.

And somewhere beyond Elysium's borders…

a power was watching him.
