Chapter 1 - chance

Jin felt pain.

"You idiot, open your eyes!"

He opened his eyes and saw himself in the school's storage room, tied up and stripped down to his underwear.

'Am I dreaming or is this hell?'

Another slap landed on his face.''Ow!''

The person who slapped him spoke. ''Confess! You were looking at Jenny thighs during class.''

'Looking at what?'

'Did he say class?'

'What is this idiot saying?'

His eyes opened.

He remembered.

This happened in his first year of high school. This idiot accused him of looking at the group leader's things, and he was beaten on her orders.

Or was it on that bastard's orders?

Jin didn't remember, but he was surprised. Was he remembering memories of his life before he died?

No. He was sure he was dead.

His body was torn to pieces. There was no way

At that moment, a familiar blue screen appeared with the following message:

The 'Second Chance' feature has been activated.

"Ah."

Jin spoke suddenly.

"Disgusting."

A girl suddenly spoke; it wasn't her friend Carla who was being referred to.

Another slap landed on Jane's face.

'Slap'

Gene didn't react.

He was still in shock from what he'd seen.

Camila was annoyed.

"You bastard, playing tough? Didn't that hurt?"

"I'm going to destroy you today, you pervert!"

The group started kicking, punching, and spitting on him.

There were seven of them:

Four girls and three boys.

Despite all the beating, Jin didn't care; he was still in shock at what he'd seen.

And he could bear the pain; he'd experienced worse pain than before.

"Stop it!"

The group turned to look at Van.

He was sitting on a chair with his feet up on the table, his sister Jenny beside him.

When Gene heard the familiar voice, he looked up to see who it was.

Van was rather tall for his sixteen-year-old peers.

He was fair-skinned and had white hair.

His most striking feature was his cold, yellow eyes.

Even his school uniform was made from the most expensive fabric available.

As for Jenny, she was a very beautiful girl with flawless skin.

She was the same height as any girl her age, but she was slender. Her long blue hair flowed freely, and her blue eyes glared angrily at Jin.

Jin didn't pay her any attention; he was still looking at Van.

Van stood up and slowly walked toward Jin.

The group made way for him; they were scared. They knew Van was angry.

When Van reached Jin, he noticed him looking at him.

He knelt down and placed his fingers on Jin's chin, grinned, and said,

"Your expression has changed."

Jin felt a chill run down his spine at the sound of this jerk's voice.

When he opened his mouth to speak,

"You..."

Van slapped him.

"Bam!"

"Who said you could talk back to me?"

As Van made a fist, a bell rang, signaling the start of the next class.

Even so, Van didn't stop and was about to punch Jin.

'Ow, that's going to hurt.'

Van was a skilled fighter; he had learned martial arts from experienced instructors.

But this didn't bother Jin; he could handle the pain.

Van raised his fist and brought it down quickly.

His punch was so fast that when it reached Jin's face, Jenny said:

"Stop it."

"We have to go to class, don't forget our promise to our parents."

"Tch."

Van lowered his fist and left with Jenny, the group following behind.

They left, leaving Jin alone in the warehouse.

Moments after they left, someone entered and approached Jenny.

"Andy."

He was Jin only friend from high school.

"They've gone too far today. Let me untie you."

Andy untied Jin, but Jenny didn't move.

"What? You can't move?"

"Do you need help?"

But Jin was thinking about something else. After Van's intervention, his thoughts were scattered, and he turned back to looking out the window.

'A second chance?'

'There must be an explanation.'

Jin remembered that most attributes had an explanation of their origin or how they came about. He read the explanation in the window: 'You consumed the Rose of Jericho, a rare flower that revives its user after death and grants them a second chance. No one else can consume it because it only grows once during the Trials.'

'A flower? A return from the dead? A chance to live a second life…'

Jin froze. He was back in life. It wasn't a dream or a vision of his life after death. He had been given a second chance.

'Wait, this means…'

jin get up and started running.

"You idiot! Where are you going without your clothes on?"

Gin was running, and all the students were watching him.

Some girls saw him and started screaming, "Ouch!"

Some of the students were filming him.

"Jenny, look! It seems the weakling is running home!"

Camila said, looking out of a window.

Jenny didn't say anything.
