Chapter 2 - System

Akira then quickly exited his house, where an open-top pickup truck was waiting for him.

Because his estate encompassed thousands of hectares, it was impossible for Akira to reach the location quickly on foot alone.

Furthermore, he was wealthy, so he certainly had no shortage of convenient ways to get around his estate.

"What's wrong, John?" Akira asked as she got into the passenger seat and questioned the driver.

John was a middle-aged man in his early 50s, muscular with a white beard. He was one of the veteran employees of his estate, and he was originally from America.

"Boss, I don't know either. Billy and I were on patrol checking the plantation area. When we arrived at the lake near the apple orchard, we found a figure lying motionless near the lake.

As we approached the figure, we realized it was something we'd never seen before.

Then Billy felt the need to tell you boss, so I came to pick you up," John replied.

"Strange figure, what kind of strange figure?" Akira asked again.

"The figure we found had a humanoid upper body, but its legs looked like a bird, and it had large claws on its feet.

It looked like a mythological creature. When we found the figure, we also found that it appeared to have died from blood loss caused by a wound in its chest. Boss, you really thought it was just a prank by someone insignificant wearing a strange costume, but seeing the blood and the fatal wound that couldn't be faked, we confirmed it was true," John replied again.

"Having a human upper body and a bird-like lower body, interesting... I really want to see it," Akira replied curiously. A faint hope now welled up in his heart.

A few minutes later, the car stopped near a lake in an apple orchard.

And there, Billy was waiting with a long-barreled rifle in his hand.

"Boss, please take a look," Billy, a middle-aged man about John's age, with a muscular appearance and a bald head, greeted Akira upon his arrival.

"Okay," Akira replied lightly and immediately approached the figure John and Billy had been referring to.

Approaching the figure, Akira observed that what his two subordinates had said was true.

The figure appeared to be human, with a normal upper body, except for a slightly different face due to a slightly less aesthetically pleasing appearance.

The figure's lower body appeared to resemble a bird's, with slender legs, feathers, and sharp claws.

A fishy odor emanated from the figure, and upon closer inspection, Akira determined it was dead from a stab wound to the chest.

[Special creature detected, does host wish to store in space?] While Akira was busy observing, a system voice sounded.

("Oh... is this what you meant by special creature?") Akira had almost confirmed his guess about the special creature the system was referring to.

From its appearance, this creature appeared to be a hybrid of the demon races found in this world. As for how it got here and ended up like this, Akira didn't care.

However, to maintain his confidentiality, Akira couldn't store the body directly.

"Does anyone else know besides the three of us?" Akira asked John and Billy.

"No, boss. As soon as we found it, we reported it to you immediately. No one knows anything about this figure," Billy replied.

"Good then, Jhon please get heavy equipment to bury this body. And don't tell anyone about this discovery. I'll give you a bonus at the end of the month," Akira informed the two of them, regarding instructions for handling the corpse.

"Okay, boss... don't worry, we'll do our job well," Billy replied happily. Who doesn't like receiving a bonus?

"Don't worry, boss, I'll get it done right away," Jhon replied quickly, and quickly returned to fetch heavy equipment to bury the body.

Shortly, Jhon returned with a medium-sized excavator and quickly dug a hole more than 2 meters deep to bury the body near the lake.

After doing so, Akira nodded in satisfaction and asked Billy to take her back to her house.

What neither of them knew was that, as the body was placed in the hole,Completely covered by soil, Akira immediately placed the corpse into his space.

Soon, a system notification sounded, but Akira couldn't open it because he was still outside and this wasn't the right place.

So, after he returned home and asked to be left alone in his room,

Akira began to look at the notification the system had given him.

[A special creature has been discovered in the space. Will the host purify it?] the system asked.

Seeing the notification, Akira didn't hesitate and immediately answered.

"Purify the corpse," Akira ordered.

[Special corpse purified... extracting corpse's power... extracting memory... extracting ability... corpse has been extracted into the space]

[Congratulations... host has 200 space points] Then the system stopped talking.

"Ohh... there's an operation like this. Wait, this corpse has extracted so many things. And system, can I see the corpse's memories?" Jaya asked curiously as she saw what the space had extracted from the corpse.

[Yes... the memory was extracted into the host's mind] the system replied immediately.

A light beam appeared in Jaya's mind, and from there, a memory emerged from the corpse.

A few moments later, after Akira extracted all the memories from the corpse, he finally understood why the corpse was in his realm.

It turned out the corpse was a lowly monster from the demon world. He had fled after committing a crime and was being pursued by a demon.

Coming from a fairly well-known family, especially after seeing the figure who killed the corpse, Akira was reminded of several characters from the High School DxD universe.

He immediately recognized the figure, who turned out to be a pawn of the queen of the Sona family.

"Tsubaki!! So you killed this corpse! Interesting!" Akira became increasingly intrigued by his discovery.

But on the other hand, he also realized that he needed more power to survive in this world, even though he was now considered quite strong with his wealth and physical status.

But that only applies to the human world. When faced with the world of demons, fallen angels, angels, or even yokai and other creatures, he's clearly just a pushover.

So, in this case, Akira's desire to become stronger clearly increases.

As for the instant way to become strong by becoming a demon pawn with an evil piece, Akira is neither interested nor willing.

For this reason, he wants to see how much the system rewards await him after upgrading his space.

And only then will he determine whether or not he will stick with his decision.

"System, is this a way to accumulate dimensional points by putting strange creatures into the space?" Now, Akira, having a clear understanding of how to accumulate world points, asked the system.

[Yes, there are two ways to upgrade the space.]

[The first is to extract a special corpse from a special creature the host finds, and the system will award points according to the corpse's level.]

[Both hosts can subdue strange creatures beyond the human race by forming a contract with them, provided the creature voluntarily enters the host's space.] The system stopped explaining.

"Oh... there is such a way. It only shows me how to get closer to the power I desire.

But obviously, it's risky with my current power.

So what should I do... umm... well... I know it's all about money!!!" Akira was delighted to find a solution to accumulate points for his space upgrade.
