The boy who got rejected, his name is Shinra Kiyama a 26 six year old office worker who was always teased in office for not being consistent at anything, except making fun of himself.
He worked very late because he wanted to get his daily bones. He has a grandma and she passed away, she was a psychic. After her death he moved to Tokyo. He doesn't have any friends because of his unethusastic attitude. This has now become his daily life.
Aoi Nakamura, the girl who rejected Shinra is shown. Today is her wedding day. She is getting married to Riku Shinasumi, a kind men who always loved her and helped her.

At that night Shinra was working late at his office. He sees one of his classmates who was his added a story and after seeing it he realises Aoi has been married to someone else. The story was congratulating Aoi and Riku's marriage
A moment of silence....
Shinra just makes an emotionless face. He leaves without completing his work.
He is then shown in a bar drinking and drinking even though he is at his limits. A guy came and sat beside and say's to him given up? He looks at that guy but his vision isn't clear because of drinking. He asks him who are you? He tells him to go as he realises Shinra is drinking because his crush got married.
Shinra leaves.
Shinra is so drunk that he can't even walk properly. Suddenly he says beside the road and thinks about his past
What if he was more energetic
What if he never proposed to her directly
What if he had became friends with her before proposing
What if he had tried harder
What if he had gotten a second chance.
This is what everyone would think and Shinra did to.
Suddenly Shinra is pushed from behind. He look's back and realises that the guy who pushed him is the same guy from the bar. That guy smiles at Shinra and then a truck hits him.
Shinra thinks this is the end for him after his crush got married and never being able to forget her smile(still remembering it while deing) he thinks he is pathetic for running away to Tokyo after a rejection(He ran away to Tokyo from the same city as her after getting rejected) he recalls every memory with her and her possible future she having kids with other.
He was alone from start to the end and a failure....
