Natsuki Subaru opened his eyes. The intense light blinded Subaru.
" Screach--"
Before his vision recover, Subaru heard a low growl. Like a sickly beast. Low and predatory. Subaru blinked and turn towards the source of the growl.
A gaint dark shadow stood a meter from him. What's that thing??? Before he understood whats happening. A sharp pain peirce his chest, and he heard a faint sound of splashing. His body shook in pain like a man grip with extreme cold. His cheeks bloated and he vomited a thick pool of blood.
Next moment a sharp pull his body left, it felt like a construction hook yank his body away. His body flew in the air like a tennis ball after hitting a racket. Subaru's consciousness wavered for a moment before sharp pain crush his skull and vertebrae. The pain paralyse all his thoughts and emotions, only the sharp radiating pain filled his mind like thousands of thorny vines wrapping his whole body.
Subaru tried to scream, but another bloat of blood block the scream. Gurgling and churning the blood choked out his mouth.
Only a muffled scream escape his mouth like the cries of a drowning baby.
After a while Subaru's eyelids flutter lazily. His face twisted in pain and shock. Subaru looked up. Blood drain his body, his eye shook when he saw it.
A huge fat black abomination, twisting and squirming as the unevenly like a muddy swarm mimicking something human. The whole body pulse as if thousands of worms were crawling under the skin.
I have to escape? I have run? Why?? Please help me?? Subaru crawled, the rough rock and mud scratched his cuticles. His nail dug into the ground, dragging his body. His chest felt empty, as if admiring gaint hole is peirce through it. It made it ease Subaru's effort.
What is that thing?? I have to escape. That shadow. He tricked me. A intense wave of anger clouded Subaru's reasoning. His nails peal off his finger as Subaru glared with venom and dread as he crawl away and into the dark forest.
After a while strength return to his body. Only then did Subaru had the time to observe his body. A gaint pit dig into his chest. Edges of the pit squirm like tentacles twisting each other, making knots. The piles of tentacles fill the pit healing the wound. Subaru pressed his lips as look at it in a daze.
" This is crazy...," his Adam's apple bobbed as a crack whisper escape his mouth.
He rest on a tree. Soon the pit disappeared and a smooth skin took its place. All wounds on his body heal. He brought his finger in front of his eyes and saw a new nail grew where a nail was peeled.
Subaru felt conflicted. On one hand he was grateful that he survived because of this blessing, and on the otherhand dreaded the pain that accompanied it. It reminded him of return by death.
Subaru pressed his hand against his neck when an idea strike him. Why didn't the monster followed him. Maybe it taught that l was dead? So it didn't kill me to eat me. Did l entered its territory?
Subaru squinted his eyes as he observe the forest. The trees twisted and cross each other. Only darkness exist between the trees.
" This place is origin.... that damn shadow tricked me.... why did he send me to this forest."
He stared up at the blue sky. Sun still hung high on the sky, clouds swayed and twist it the warm wind. It looked peaceful. Subaru felt like he was back at Rosewald's mansion. All this was just a long painful nightmare and Emilia was waiting for him back in the mansion.
" Emilia....," he whispered her name with love and longing. His eyes closed and he drifted back into sleep.
