Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: Sam and the Next Destination: Mystic Falls

The Dean's ghost's hands flickered with azure electric currents and grabbed Shane's head. His face was brimming with a ferocious and angry expression. The electric currents in his hands became even more dazzling and irritable.

Then, his expression changed.

Rustle...

Papers danced, pieces of paper fluttered. Shane, who was originally grabbed by the Dean, began to peel off like a paper man. In an instant, he turned into a cluster of paper butterflies chasing the wind, gathering gracefully in another place.

The Dean was stunned, then turned around prepared to attack again, but what greeted him was a sky-high kick.

Bang!

The Dean was kicked straight into the air, then disappeared.

The friction sound of creak creak creak rang out. Not far away, a bloodstained hospital bed, as if controlled by some mysterious force, quickly smashed toward Shane. Shane leaped up and dodged easily. While in the air, his hands formed seals quickly. Opening his mouth toward the cabinet in the corner of the secret room, he unleashed a Wind Style: Great Breakthrough.

Bang!

The cabinet door was instantly blasted open, revealing the Dean's corpse curled up inside.

Seeming to guess what Shane wanted to do, the disappeared Dean's ghost appeared again, blocking in front of his own corpse. The expression on his face became more ferocious, and the electric current in his hand became more restless.

"It's useless. A ghost appearing is equivalent to having a physical body. You can attack me, and I can attack you too. obviously... you can't beat me!"

"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"

After gathering chakra in his throat, he spewed a huge fireball from his mouth forward. The blazing burning fireball easily passed through the Dean's ghost body, immediately hitting the cabinet.

Bang!

First a loud explosion, then flames wrapped the cabinet. The documents, debris, and the Dean's corpse in the cabinet burned slowly in the flames.

The Dean's ghost began to become illusory and flickering, finally disappearing with a poof.

The kill reward sounded accordingly.

It seemed the Dean's ghost had been eliminated.

Bang!

The office door was suddenly knocked open. Kat staggered, steadied herself holding the iron rod, looked at the unscathed Shane and the burning cabinet, and asked tentatively, "Is it over?"

Shane smiled lightly and nodded. "It's over."

Kat said somewhat apologetically, "Sorry I came late and couldn't help."

"Doesn't matter. What matters is that you came." Shane looked around. Those ghosts who originally followed him revealed relieved expressions one by one and disappeared. Presumably, they should finally be able to rest in peace.

"For you."

Shane raised his hand and threw a Flying Thunder God kunai. recently, when he had nothing to do, he almost marked all the ninja tools in the system with Flying Thunder God marks. "Keep it as a souvenir."

"What is this?"

"Kunai!"

Kat curiously fiddled with the kunai in her hand and looked up to ask what to do next, only to suddenly discover that Shane was gone.

She looked around subconsciously, finally determining that Shane should have used some mysterious method to leave here. The Dean's matter was solved, Shane left, which meant they could also leave.

"Kat... Kat..." Gavin chased up.

"Where, where is he?" Looking at the burning flames and the disappeared Shane, Gavin asked blankly.

"The matter has been solved. He left."

"Left? Then..."

"Let's go too."

Kat clenched the kunai given by Shane, turned, and left the basement with Gavin.

Strange to say, obviously it was the same environment, obviously knowing there really were ghosts here, but when going out, the mood was very calm, completely without the fear when coming in.

Maybe because the ghosts had been solved?

Or maybe because they had experienced it personally.

The two came out of the asylum, looking at the starry sky and the quiet dim street, each having their own thoughts for a moment.

"Gavin, let's break up," Kat turned to look at Gavin.

Gavin opened his mouth but surprisingly didn't ask for the reason or fight to stay. He himself knew that his previous various performances were indeed shameful. In fact, when he chased Kat to the basement, he had already thought about turning over a new leaf and being a responsible and brave person. Reviewing his performance, he looked down on himself a bit.

But Kat didn't give him a chance to express his heart. Gavin also knew that empty words were hard to make Kat believe he would change.

Empty words, then prove it with facts.

Gavin felt this "adventure" was his rebirth. He wanted to change his character, change Kat's view of him, and change his life.

Sam?

Gavin suddenly remembered the name Shane mentioned. The person who could make him remember the name should be someone approved by him, right?

From today on, I'll change my name to Sam. Sam Lawton!

Night passed quietly.

Early the next morning, Shane checked out and left the hotel, driving away from Rockford.

A few days later, he returned to the Hunter Bar in Wisconsin.

The originally dilapidated bar opened by the roadside was now completely new. Although the overall structure hadn't changed much, a three-story wooden villa had appeared behind the bar. besides, the exterior of the bar had undergone thorough renovation and design, looking much more high-end than before.

Dozens of workers were going in and out decorating the interior of the bar. According to the previously estimated time, it would take at least another month and a half to be officially completed.

In the villa behind the bar, everyone gathered together after learning of Shane's return.

Ellen, Ash, Olivia, Anna, and Jo, who had returned to the bar some time ago, were all staying at the bar.

Poof!

Shane took out a scroll, unsealed it. In an instant, white smoke drifted away, and then... piles of gift bags and packaging bags piled up like a mountain of gold.

"These are gifts brought for you. Choose for yourself."

Shane clapped his hands smiling very lavishly (like a tycoon). immediately after, he turned to Anna and said, "The renovation here doesn't need you, right? I'm planning to go back to Mystic Falls to make some preparations. Do you want to go with me?"

Anna was overjoyed immediately. "Of course. You... are you going to?"

"Try it first."

"Okay, when do we leave?"

"You go pack your things; we can leave afterward."

Anna went upstairs directly to her room to pack up with a whoosh at super fast speed.

Others were originally picking gifts. Hearing Shane was leaving just after coming back, they couldn't help being somewhat surprised.

Ellen asked Shane about the Yellow-Eyed Demon. Learning that the Yellow-Eyed Demon was really dead, she couldn't help sighing and lamenting. Then she reported the progress of the bar renovation.

Olivia asked if she should go to Mystic Falls together. Shane indicated it wasn't necessary. Going back this time was mainly to get familiar with the environment, buy a house to furnish simply, and leave a few Flying Thunder God marks. It shouldn't take too long. Instead of letting Olivia go with him, it was better to let her stay here and concentrate on cultivating chakra. He was still waiting for the Chakra Fruit from the mission reward.
