Chapter 7 - 7

Chapter 7: Back to Reality, Hot Pot Starts.

Chapter 7: Back to Reality, Hot Pot Starts.

Because of Luo Fan, countless alien species appeared around them.

Su Jinjin stood quietly in place, her breath almost frozen.

Luo Fan's wailing still echoed in the distance, accompanied by the roars of the alien horde, making the entire block seem like a playground for monsters.

"I was doing so well, and then they pulled this stunt in the last few minutes?!" Su Jinjin's forehead was covered in a thin layer of sweat as she cursed inwardly.

She glanced at the instance's end time—4 minutes and 37 seconds remaining.

If we can just hold on for these few minutes, we can return safely.

The problem is... there are at least a dozen Proris aliens roaming around. Their hearing is extremely sharp, and once they are discovered, she simply cannot fight them head-on with her combat strength.

Alien: We're about to return, and a whole bunch of aliens are giving us a big send-off. Aren't you touched?

Su Jinjin: I dare not move, I really dare not move!

She even breathed very softly, afraid that the sound of her heartbeat might attract those monsters.

Her fingers gripped the sonic vibration gun tightly, but Su Jinjin knew that while the high-frequency interference it released could frustrate the aliens and control one or two, the sheer number of aliens in front of her meant the sounds of battle would attract even more. The sonic vibration gun wasn't infinitely powerful either; what would happen when the energy was depleted? Faced with countless aliens, Su Jinjin didn't want to die.

However, the alien species was quickly attracted away by Luo Fan's roar from the sky.

Before Su Bai could even breathe a sigh of relief...

"Quick, Luo Fan has lured the monster away, let's move fast!" a deep male voice rang out.

"The alien eggs are in that underground parking garage up ahead. I heard that the people who killed the aliens said that you can get 'kill points' as long as you kill them!" another voice said, suppressing excitement.

"Although I don't know exactly what these kill points are used for, they're definitely valuable! Maybe I can exchange them for rewards after I return!"

Su Jinjin squinted and observed through the gap.

Four or five people were sneaking towards a shopping mall, carrying various weapons, clearly prepared for the occasion.

Su Jinjin used the [Eye of Resume] to observe, and as expected, these people were all players.

"I see..." Su Jinjin immediately understood. "Luo Fan was just bait. The real target of this group is the alien egg?"

Su Jinjin was somewhat curious about the heterozygous eggs and the so-called 'killing points'.

But she doesn't intend to get involved.

Kill points? Rewards? Sounds good.

But Su Jinjin knew even better that anyone who dared to provoke an alien species at this time was either crazy or had absolute confidence.

Su Jinjin was well aware of her own abilities.

She had used the sonic oscillation gun to deal with the aliens during those seven days, but the sonic oscillation gun alone was not enough to kill them.

She didn't want to die, and even though she was about to return, Su Jinjin felt it was best to stay put.

In a post-apocalyptic game, only the last survivor is the winner.

Just as she was preparing to quietly leave.

"boom!!!"

A deafening explosion came from the direction of the mall, followed by the furious roars of countless [Aliens]!

"Oh no!" one of the players shouted in terror, "How come there are still so many alien creatures guarding this place?!"

"Damn it, the intelligence was wrong! Retreat! Retreat now! Run!"

But it was too late.

Countless Proris mutants appeared from countless places, locking onto the group of players by sound, rapidly approaching, and slashing their scythe-like claws on their forelimbs.

"Pfft!"

One of the players didn't even have time to scream before he was cut in half at the waist!

Su Jinjin's breath hitched, and she immediately lowered her body and slowly backed away.

"As expected, I was right... It really is best to stay alive!"

However, fate seemed determined to play a cruel joke on her.

After killing these players, the alien head turned towards Su Jinjin.

Su Jinjin froze.

Alien: Stare!

Su Jinjin: Hold your breath, it has no eyes, it can't see me!

Alien: Slowly raises its claws and approaches!

Su Jinjin: Cold sweat dripped down her back.

At this critical moment—

[Ding! Dungeon time remaining: 00:00:10]

Seeing that there were only 10 seconds left in the countdown to her return, Su Jinjin, who had been worried, immediately straightened her back and was no longer afraid.

She wanted to make one last big splash and teach this guy a lesson with her sonic blaster, but before Su Jinjin could even make a move...

The return period has ended.

[Ding! Survival Game - Alien Apocalypse - Dungeon Completed!]

[Ding! Experience +200!]

[Ding! The "Worker Talent - Learner Agreement" ability is activated!]

Please choose one of the following abilities for the Scavenger profession: 'Scavenging Backpack' or 'Scrap Recycling'.

Su Jinjin had already made her choice.

Select the [Scavenging Backpack] directly.

After making her choice, Su Jinjin disappeared from the Alien Apocalypse instance in the next second.

The white light before her eyes dissipated, and Su Jinjin was suddenly dazed as the scene before her abruptly changed.

No longer the ruins of a post-apocalyptic world overrun by aliens, but a familiar office.

The overhead lights hummed, the computer screen in front of me was still lit, and the message bar displayed the boss's latest request—a "colorful black" design scheme.

There's also a new message from the boss right now.

Boss: The previous plan didn't work; I'd like something more upscale.

Su Jinjin: "..."

Su Jinjin looked down at her clothes, which were exactly what she was dressed for in the [Alien Apocalypse] instance.

"I'm back?"

Su Jinjin sensed her scavenging backpack again.

If she hadn't sensed this magical space, Su Jinjin would have thought her previous experience was a dream.

Su Jinjin glanced at the time on her computer again. Seven days of survival at home in the "Alien Apocalypse" felt like an instant in reality.

Su Jinjin did not hesitate.

I packed my things and prepared to go home.

She hadn't forgotten that the system had said that her planet, Blue Star, had begun to enter the apocalyptic era. No matter what kind of apocalypse it was, Su Jinjin needed to make some preparations as soon as possible.

"I don't know how many people have been selected by the system to enter the Natural Disaster game, or how long it will take to enter the dungeon next time."

As if sensing Su Jinjin's thoughts, the system's voice immediately sounded.

[Ding! The next escape dungeon will open in 7 days!]

Without hesitation, Su Jinjin headed straight for her residential compound.

The people around her and Su Jinjin looked flustered and anxious, as if they were unaware that the world had changed drastically.

Seeing the expressions of the people around her, Su Jinjin pondered in her heart.

"Could it be that very few people are selected by the system?"

But now is not the time to think about these things. Su Jinjin knows that this world is about to enter the apocalypse.

"What kind of apocalypse?" Su Jinjin didn't know yet, but it was never a bad idea to make some preparations in advance.

"But before we get ready, let's take care of our stomachs first!"

In the Alien Apocalypse instance, even eating something might attract the attention of the aliens, so Su Jinjin spent most of her time hungry.

"Now that I'm back, I must treat my stomach to something nice. Hmm, hot pot would be perfect."
