Chapter 29 Counterattack Plan, Base Defense

Chapter 29 Counterattack Plan, Base Defense

Realizing that Su Jinjin was a player and had no hostility, Lin Xia's eyes suddenly lit up. Thinking of her previous experiences, a possibility immediately came to mind.

"Are you collecting supplies?" Lin Xia asked tentatively, a shrewd glint in her eyes.

Seeing the backpack on Su Jinjin's back used to hide her space, they assumed that Su Jinjin was short of supplies.

"I know where there are plenty of supplies. How about we cooperate? If we join forces, we can split the supplies we seize."

Lin Xia had never suffered such a great loss in her life.

Of course, some people who saw this were furious that ordinary people were being used for experiments.

For some reason, she couldn't stand human experimentation, and she wanted to get rid of these people.

Lin Xia added through gritted teeth, "I know a small military base where supplies are piled up like mountains. We can go there and collect the supplies we need."

Su Jinjin was thinking.

Seeing that Su Jinjin did not respond immediately, her younger brother Lin Tian was worried that she would misunderstand, so he quickly explained, "Don't think these soldiers are good people. What they did... if you saw it with your own eyes, you would want to cut them into a thousand pieces."

Lin Tian felt a chill run down his spine when he thought of that place.

If he and his sister weren't players with special talents, they would have been treated the same as ordinary people...

Lin Xia picked up the conversation, her voice tinged with suppressed anger: "When we entered the instance, we initially pretended to be ordinary survivors, hoping to get through these ten days safely under the military's protection. Who knew..."

Her nails dug deeply into her palms. "They actually locked up captured survivors and parasitic monsters together for experiments..."

Su Jinjin listened quietly to the siblings' account, the image of the modified parasitic hound surfacing in her mind.

And those fully armed men.

It seems that the dangers of this apocalyptic instance are far more than just the parasitic monsters on the surface.

"So!" Su Jinjin slowly spoke, "you want to use me to take revenge?"

Silence fell immediately.

Lin Xia and Lin Tian exchanged a glance, and finally Lin Xia broke the silence: "Not entirely. We do need your strength, but it will also benefit you. There is plenty of food and weapons in the base."

Su Jinjin's gaze swept back and forth between the siblings.

The hatred in Lin Xia's eyes seemed genuine, and although Lin Tian was cautious, he showed no signs of lying.

More importantly... Su Jinjin really needs more supplies.

"It's possible, but let me state that beforehand."

Su Jinjin's silver needles suddenly materialized and were instantly pressed against Lin Xia's throat. "If you dare to betray me, I will make you die a more miserable death than if you had encountered a parasitic monster."

Lin Xia showed no fear whatsoever; instead, she revealed a relieved smile.

She was not afraid of Su Jinjin's threats.

Lin Xia thought that as long as Su Jinjin saw the footage of that small base, she would definitely do the same as them and eliminate everyone there.

"I know, and I also want to finish the mission safely and return home," Lin Xia said.

"Tell me about the situation and plans for that base," Su Jinjin asked.

To obtain the supplies from this base, we must first find out the specific details.

"Where is this base located? How many guards are there? What is its firepower configuration? Where are the supply depots?"

Lin Tian said, "The base is located in an abandoned chemical plant on the northern outskirts of this city. There's a ten-man patrol around it, equipped with automatic rifles. The laboratory is on the second basement level, where... many survivors are imprisoned."

Lin Xia added, "Most importantly, they cultivated a new type of parasite that can move in sunlight..."

Su Jinjin raised an eyebrow. It seemed that the siblings were not as reckless as Jing Ningyu; at least they had figured out the weaknesses of the parasitic variant.

Jing Ningyu, who was munching on a cookie, suddenly sneezed: "Who's insulting me?"

However, he didn't notice at all that the cookies he had finally found were expired.

"Indeed, while these modified parasitic variants are not afraid of sunlight, they still retain a weakness to water," Su Jinjin analyzed, tapping her fingers lightly on the armrest of the seat.

Lin Xia and Lin Tian exchanged a glance, their expressions suddenly realizing what was going on.

They were so focused on escaping that they didn't notice this detail.

"If we want to take down this base, we must first eliminate the threats inside."

A cold glint flashed in Su Jinjin's eyes. Since the "officials" here were so ruthless, she didn't need to hold back.

"Let's introduce our respective abilities so we can cooperate better later," Su Jinjin said directly.

Lin Xia coughed lightly: "My name is Xia Yu, and my talent is [Wind Whisperer], which allows me to manipulate airflow to form wind blades or barriers."

Lin Xia deliberately concealed her real name, demonstrating by swirling a faint stream of air between her fingers.

Lin Tian was taken aback, but quickly recovered and replied, "I am Xia Tian, and my talent is [Softening], which allows me to temporarily soften objects I touch."

As he demonstrated, he touched the ground, and the ground immediately softened as if it were putty.

Su Jinjin looked at them with a half-smile, but didn't expose their fake names. It's normal to be vigilant in the apocalypse, as long as it doesn't affect cooperation.

Suddenly, silver needles flashed in Su Jinjin's hand. She condensed the needles into a dust-like substance and used it to strike her sword. "Call me Su Su. My ability is [Tailor]. I'm skilled at...sewing. I can sew anything together."

He then took a stone and experimented by sewing it onto another stone.

After the three finished introducing themselves, they exchanged knowing smiles, each understanding that the other had held something back.

In this apocalyptic game, this level of precaution is perfectly normal.

Let's go.

"good!"

The three of them drove the barely intact SUV slowly into the industrial zone in the north of the city.

The tires crunched softly as they rolled over the broken asphalt.

Lin Xia gestured for her younger brother to slow down and pointed to a factory building encased in walls in the distance.

"That's it," she said in a low voice, "the entire factory has been transformed into an experimental base."

Su Jinjin put on her analytical glasses and remotely locked onto the gray-white building.

The footage shows a thick concrete wall three meters high, topped with barbed wire, and surrounded by armed soldiers patrolling the perimeter.

The entire base was impregnable and did not appear to be easily breached.

Seeing the base so heavily guarded, he was somewhat surprised.

How did you manage to escape back then?

Lin Tian's face turned deathly pale, and his fingers trembled involuntarily: "They...locked us and the parasites in the same lab...my sister used wind blades to cut through the ventilation ducts...I finally softened part of the wall..."

His voice grew softer and softer, clearly indicating that the memory was too painful.

"Ventilation ducts?" Su Jinjin's eyes lit up. "So, you're familiar with the base's internal structure?"

Lin Xia immediately understood her thoughts, but shook her head: "Because we escaped, they must have strengthened the defenses of all entrances and exits. Going back the way we came is too dangerous
