Chapter 6: The Art of Chakra Extraction

"Do you know what chakra is?"

Tsunade's tone turned serious, no longer teasing.

Ruo Feng fell silent.

The situation truly defied logic.

Jiraiya had peeked — whether he succeeded or not didn't matter. He had been beaten and blasted away. Tsunade's towel had been blown off by the wind, and Ruo Feng had unintentionally seen everything. Yet she hadn't cared, likely because he was only five years old.

Then she got angry, suspected he was connected to Jiraiya, learned his identity… and now she was offering to teach him chakra extraction — even the Senju clan's extraction method.

The contrast was absurd.

Even with the wisdom of two lifetimes, Ruo Feng struggled to follow her thought process.

Women truly were unfathomable.

Even if this woman was only a teenage girl.

After a brief pause, he replied calmly:

"Although I haven't enrolled in the Ninja Academy or practiced ninjutsu yet, I understand the basics. Chakra is formed by drawing physical energy from the body's 130 trillion cells and combining it with spiritual energy. I could have begun extracting chakra earlier, but I didn't want to use the Academy's ordinary method. So I continued strengthening my body through medicinal baths, planning to ask my grandfather to obtain a top-tier extraction method from Jiraiya once I enrolled."

Tsunade listened, then lightly pinched his cheek again before withdrawing her hand, green chakra fading from her palm.

"The swelling is gone. I checked your body just now as well."

She looked at him with mild surprise.

"I don't know how you train, but at five years old, your physique rivals that of eight- or nine-year-olds. The medicinal baths help, but you've clearly worked hard yourself."

She grew more serious.

"Your foundation is strong enough to begin chakra extraction. But you're right to be cautious about the method you choose."

"Jiraiya's method comes from the toads of Mount Myoboku. Even if he were willing to teach it to you, you wouldn't be able to practice it yet. That system is closely tied to natural energy. Your current body simply isn't ready."

She crossed her arms.

"I'll teach you the Senju clan's extraction method instead. It was created by my grandfather — the First Hokage."

The First Hokage.

That meant Hashirama Senju.

"The chakra refined through this method," Tsunade continued, "is not only high in quality, but also carries strong vitality. It enhances recovery and can even strengthen the body itself."

Ruo Feng stared at her, stunned.

She was just… giving it to him?

Wasn't that a core clan inheritance?

And all this in exchange for some damaged hot springs?

He looked up at her, confusion plain in his eyes.

"Why? The Senju clan's chakra extraction method should be extremely valuable. Why give it to me so easily?"

He knew full well that such a technique wasn't something money alone could buy.

Tsunade fell silent for a moment before answering.

"Consider it compensation for the hot spring's damage."

She hesitated briefly.

"And… an apology of sorts."

"An apology? For Jiraiya?" Ruo Feng asked.

Suddenly, a memory surfaced.

In the original timeline, Jiraiya once mentioned he had nearly died twice in his life.

The first time — after peeking into a women's bath — he suffered six broken ribs, fractures in both wrists, and severe internal injuries. He nearly died.

The second time — during Naruto's training, when the Nine-Tails' seal loosened and Naruto transformed into a four-tailed state. Holding back lethal force, Jiraiya was gravely injured while trying to stop him.

Only those two incidents had brought him close to death.

Ruo Feng glanced at Tsunade.

Could today be that first incident?

Tsunade gave an awkward smile.

"I lost a lot of money at the casino today. Then I caught Jiraiya peeking."

Her expression hardened.

"He didn't see much. But I was furious."

She exhaled.

"For an ordinary person, those injuries would be fatal. But Jiraiya has trained at Mount Myōboku for years. His physique is different. Six broken ribs, fractured wrists, ruptured organs — he'll recover in half a month."

She paused.

"But still… we're teammates. And I'm not going to apologize to his face."

She glanced at Ruo Feng.

"Your grandfather and Jiraiya are close. If I compensate you, it's the same as apologizing to him."

Then she waved dismissively.

"And besides, it's just an extraction method. What's the big deal?"

She truly didn't seem concerned about the technique spreading.

Ruo Feng shook his head, half amused.

"I always thought great clans guarded their techniques carefully."

"Some do," Tsunade replied. "It's their foundation, after all."

She leaned closer, eyes suddenly gleaming.

"But if I could trade it for some cash, that'd be even better. You're the hot spring tycoon's grandson, right? Lend your big sister a few tens of thousands of ryō to play with?"

Her gaze sparkled — unmistakably the shine of a gambling addict.

Ruo Feng nearly choked.

"So that's your real motive. You want to sell the technique."

"Heh."

Tsunade chuckled, then straightened.

"Enough nonsense. I'll guide your chakra circulation now."

Her tone turned instructive.

"With your physical foundation and steady practice, you should be able to extract chakra within three days. If your spiritual energy is strong, even faster."

She looked at him firmly.

"But remember — chakra is drawn from your cells. Over-extraction damages them. You must control the amount."

As she spoke, Ruo Feng felt Tsunade's chakra enter his body.

Warm.

Gentle.

It flowed through him like a clear current, tracing precise pathways.

He understood immediately.

Those were the chakra pathways — the network that allowed chakra to circulate through the body.

To extract chakra, one first had to understand these internal channels.

Of course, the chakra currently flowing wasn't his.

It belonged to Tsunade.

After one full circulation—

Ruo Feng suddenly felt a subtle tremor at the center of his forehead.

His expression changed.

"How is this possible…?"

His thoughts shook violently.

"The Three Thousand Worlds' Garbage Station… it's collecting new trash again!"
