The next day,I dialed the number. The last thing I wanted was being jailed and honestly, I'm afraid.
On the third ring,the number picked up.
"Hello",his voice boomed over the phone.
"Uhm.. hello. Hi,this is me. Iris. You asked me to call?"
"Oh yes,the disturber ",I heard him laugh darkly on the phone."How are you doing? I hope you slept well last night". This man! He knew his threat was affecting me , just who are you?! And he called me disturber as if it was a stain on me.
" I did sleep well last night", I lied.
"I want you to come over to my office to discuss business, I want you to be my secretary,since you want a job?"
"Wait how did you know?", I asked surprised.
"I have my sources, darling,now will you come over to my office,or you've got the one million dollars to repay me?"
"I don't ",he is teasing me.
"I'll meet you sooner. Come to Johnson TECH. Tell the receptionist that you have an appointment with me",he told me.
"Wait..... You work at Johnson TECH? I applied for a job there but I was not accepted, saying I lack experience!", I almost screamed o er the phone. "How do you get there? What did you write in the letter?"
"Miss Cole ,control yourself. I'll see you shortly
I hope you have money for transport"
"Hey... how do you know?!", I fumed. He was laughing at me.
"I do hope you have a few bucks on you,or you could walk your choice, see you and if you don't come before 10 am,o promise you, I'll alert the police"
"Hey,take it easy on me, I'm literally poor and magically , you seem to know me"
"See, you then , Miss Cole"
"Please just call me Iris",I grumbled.
"Yeah,bye",he said, cutting the call
I sighed and walked to my closet to search for the best appropriate dress I can find and I later find out about some white shirt and black skirt and of course I'm using my high heel pencil shoe to match with it and of course my bag.
Dressing up, I searched for the perfume. Great I misplaced it. I'll walk to the company. I have no other options.
I made my hair in a high ponytail as usual and take the last money I've got closing my door ,I headed out.
I saw a sleek black SUV waiting outside on my sidewalk.
The driver waved at me and motion for me to enter the car. Does he take me for a kid?! I won't enter the car, I was smart enough. You wanna kidnap me? Nope, no way! I took to my heels and ran very fast I hid in alley, hoping that I'd lost him,just then my stupid Nokia phone rang.
I picked it up , cursing. Who could have called me, I had only three contacts, one is from my landlord, the second from my colleague and the last from Mr Arrogant!
I looked at the caller ID, and it was him.
"I forgot to mention I had a drive to pick you up. The place is far from your house."
"How do you know my house?!", I was very shocked.
"He hasn't got all day, get to the sidewalk now !"
he cut the call before I could say anything. RUDE!!
I waved at the driver when I saw the sleek black SUV. The car stopped and I apologize so that driver and got in.
You must be wondering why I have only three contact numbers ,that's because I'm an orphan.I have no relatives and since I aged out of the orphanage system, I had to be kicked out, nobody was willing to adopt me.
The car stopped in front of Johnson TECH the most biggest company in the country. I still couldn't believe my eyes.
I got out of the car and made my way inside the building.
