Chapter 1 - Nayoma

Sebastian had never been known to be shy, and he couldn't remember a time that he legitimately was. When he moved into the neighborhood, about two weeks ago, one of the first things he did was take a shirtless jog down to a public park, one that he had scoped out on the drive to his new home. It had everything he could ever want in a public park. A trail, exercise equipment such as pull-up bars and even swimming pools. It was also surrounded by clear water ponds and lakes that plenty of people, especially two-piece bikini wearing gals, swam laps in. It was the third week living in the neighborhood, and Sebastian wanted to give swimming some laps into his cardio workout a try.

Already shirtless and in some fast-drying shorts, Sebastian jogged his way through the park until he found a pond that contained the least amount of people to get in his way. He finds one that was seemingly empty. As he took off his running shoes and prepared to jump in, a woman suddenly emerges from underwater. She whips her head back, throwing droplets of water in an arch over her head. Her hair was dark and he could see that is somewhat curly, but the water was weighing it down. The inner ends of her eyebrows pointed downward at the base of her nose and arched at the outer ends. Her dark hair brought out the glow of her pale tan skin and faintly pink lips. Her face was overall longish, but Sebastian was intrigued. He didn't know why. Usually, it was the features of the body such as a nice ass over some thick legs, or some jiggling boobs that drew him in, rarely did a woman's face capture his attention first, no matter how pretty she was.

The woman floated across the water in a reverse butterfly, periodically fluttering her eyes at Sebastian to see if he was watching her. He certainly was. He was now able to get a glimpse of her body. Her legs were long and thick, and her boobs stuck out over the surface of the water like jelly filled domes under her bikini top. A seashell was pierced at her belly button and there were tattoos at her waist of unknown designs. Sebastian was filled with a strong desire for this woman, and not just sexually which is a rare occurrence. So rare he had to check his reflection in the water to make sure he was still him.

Sebastian eases his way into the water shyly, even though he initially planned to jump in and immediately start swimming laps. For the first time, he felt shy in the presence of a woman. He swims over to a ledge comprised of large, moss-covered rocks and grabs hold of them, preparing to swim across the length of the pond and back. As he turned around, suddenly, the woman appears from under water beside him. He is startled at how fast she was able to swim from one side of the pond to the other, it was almost like she teleported. She looks at him and smiles, and Sebastian notices she had slightly crooked teeth and deep dimples in her cheeks. It was oddly cute.

"Hi," she says, and already Sebastian could make out a thick accent of unknown origin.

"Hey," Sebastian replies as his heart sank and he felt his body become weighed down into the water. Without another word, she swims on her side across the water in front of him, and closely too, so close her long skirt brushed up against his chest. He felt the urge to reach under the water and grab ahold of one of her boobs, just to feel it. He wanted to grab her butt and feel down her legs as she swam by. She turns onto her back as she got further away, and Sebastian could see clearly that she was wearing a very thinly transparent bikini bottom that he could see the line of her lips and a patch of short hair above it. She smiles at him before letting herself be submerged underwater, kicking her legs up and letting them sink. Sebastian could feel himself swell even while in the water. He had to make a move of some kind. She was giving him all the right signs he couldn't ignore.

Sebastian kicks himself from the rocky wall and shoots across the water. With nice form, he strokes to other side where the woman was already waiting, her back to him. Sebastian stops close beside her.

"What's your name?" he asks.

"Nayoma", She says with a smile.

"That's a pretty name. I'm Sebastian." He reaches his hand out of the water and she grabs it gently.

"Good to meet you", she says in her strange accent, pronouncing the word "you" as sort of like "yow", "meet" as "meht"and "good" with a strong ooh, like saying goo with a d.

"How you swim so fast?" Sebastian asks.

"Umm, I don't know. I just love to swim", she says.

"Want to race?" Sebastian asked, just to see if she was as fast as she seemed. She smiles and says, "Yeah!" excitedly. The two get ready against the rocks.

"Ready? Set…Go!" Sebastian kicks off the rocks and shoots across the water, stroking as fast as he could. Nayoma had submerged underwater so he couldn't see if he was ahead of her or her ahead of him. About halfway across the pond, Sebastian sees Nayoma appear from underwater at the other side, smiling at him.

"Damn you're fast!" Sebastian says upon reaching the other side. Nayoma giggled.

Before Sebastian knew it, the sun was already retreating behind the mountains in the distance and painting the sky a calamity of blue, pink and red, and revealing the bright glimmer of Venus. He really spent all day swimming and just hanging out with Nayoma, which surprised him more than anything.

Nayoma and Sebastian swim to the shore of the pond lake and sit at the edge of the water.

"Damn, I can't believe it's already getting dark," Sebastian says. "The day went by too quick."

"You been swimming with me all day." Nayoma says.

"Well, you know, time goes by faster when you're having a good time."

Nayoma smiled and drew something in the mud between them with a twig.

In the moment of silence, Sebastian gazed at her body. He had to force himself to not get a boner again like he did in the water because this time she might see it with his wet shorts stuck to his skin. But he couldn't take his eyes off her. He dragged his eyes from her ankles to her butt then up her side and to her head where her beautiful hair dangled passed her shoulders. She was calmly indulged in drawing shapes in the mud.

"So, where do you live?" Sebastian asked after a few moments of silence, "close by or…"

"Yeah, close by."

"Where you from?"

"Um…here." She replied.

"Really? Where's that accent from?"

"Uh…here," Nayoma laughed.

"Seriously? I've never heard an accent like that before. It's pretty," Sebastian says, and she smiled in reply. He couldn't believe she was from America. She had to be from somewhere else, somewhere he's never heard of.

"I'm going to have to go home soon," she says.

"Yeah, me too. Will you be here tomorrow?"

"Yeah." She answered.

"Cool," Sebastian didn't really want to leave yet. He was like a kid at an amusement park that was closing but he wanted to stay and continue having fun. It had been a while since he had this much fun with someone.

"I can walk you home if you want," he offered as he got up and started walking to his shoes.

"No, it's okay. I live close. I'll be fine."

"You sure?" Sebastian took out his phone. The time read 10:40 p.m.

"Yeah, I'm sure." Nayoma replied.

Sebastian trusted she would be. No girl is comfortable being out at night by themselves in a dark, secluded area of a park. Especially one as attractive as her. Maybe she didn't know how attractive she was? Sebastian thought, but he tried to sway any negative thoughts as he waved goodbye to her, and she waved back and he started the walk back home. He was already excited to see her tomorrow.

That night, all Sebastian could think about was Nayoma. He didn't know what it was, but he couldn't stop thinking about her and that smile and the glimpse of her bottom lips behind that see-thru underwear. He ended up beating off to her which felt weird, but he couldn't resist it. After he finished, he felt a stronger desire for her. He almost couldn't sleep because he couldn't wait to see her again.

The next day, just after noon, Sebastian jogs to the park and just as he hoped, Nayoma was there, swimming in the same pond lake, and just like yesterday, she was the only one. They spent the day swimming laps and getting to know each other even further. Sebastian told her where he was originally from and she seemed unaware of the place. Nayoma on the other hand remained vague about her family and friends and Sebastian got a gut feeling that she was lying. He didn't think too much of it, they were still strangers, after all. Maybe he just needed to give her more time to be open about that subject. It didn't matter much anyway at this time as all he had was a strong sexual desire for her, a desire that became increasingly more intense the more time he spent with her.

But like yesterday, the day escaped Sebastian and night was already falling. He had to make a serious move today. A move he conjured in his head during the jog to the pond lake.

"Hey uh, you wanna come over and have dinner? Maybe watch a movie or something?" Sebastian asks.

"Sure," She accepts.

"What do you like to eat?"

"I really love seafood," she answered as if that was something to be embarrassed of.

"Right on. I got shrimp and fish at the house."

Nayoma giggled in approval and the two get out of the pond lake and start walking the mile or so ways to Sebastians home. She walked barefoot. It was the middle of summer, so the heat of day carried over into the night, so neither were concerned about being cold. When they got to Sebastians house, he didn't waste any time and immediately started preparing dinner. It was shrimp, pasta noodles drenched in Alfredo sauce, white rice, Tilapia fillets and a side of peas and corn despite Nayoma expressing her dislike of vegetables. It took about an hour to finish, so Sebastian started a movie while they waited. One of his all-time favorites and one he was sure she never seen.

Once the food was done, with a glass of cranberry juice for each of them, they sat at the table and ate. Sebastian started thinking of what to say to talk her into staying the night as smoothly as possible, but for the most part, they sat quietly and ate. Nayoma was really going at the shrimp as if she hadn't eaten in days. Sebastian watched her suck a shrimp from its tail shell then drop the shell on the plate. She noticed him looking at her.

"What?" She says giggling. "Why you stare at me?"

"You really like shrimp," Sebastian says with a teasing smile. Nayoma sticks another shrimp in her mouth and flutters her eyes at him, gazing at him almost seductively as she sucked the flesh into her mouth and chewed gently. Sebastian plucked a shrimp from its tail with his teeth and gazed back at her. If it was going to happen, it was going to happen tonight. However, not all women move so fast, even one as provocative as this one. She was teasing him.

"So, you live close to the park, right?" Sebastian asked.

Nayoma nods her head gently as she chewed on her last shrimp.

"Maybe I can come visit you at your house one of these days," he suggests.

"No. You can't," She says with a smile as if she were joking.

"Why not?"

"Because…ummm…. just because."

Sebastian is now thinking she is hiding something. Why wouldn't she want him to visit her at her own home? Maybe he still needs to earn her trust. He considers it a trust issue and leaves it at that for now.

When they were done eating and finishing up a light conversation shrouded in vagueness, Sebastian put the dishes away. Nayoma was standing by the rear of the couch and looking around at the simplicity of Sebastians home. There was barely anything in it. The DVD menu was still playing in an endless loop on the TV. She was indulged in the sounds and graphics of the menu when Sebastian appeared behind her.

"So, uh—"

"I should be getting home now," she says before Sebastian could say anything.

"I'll walk you home?" Sebastian offers once again.

"No, it's okay. I can go by myself."

"You sure?"

Nayoma looks up into Sebastians eyes, and he gazed back into hers. She nods her head with a smile.

Even though it was a nice neighborhood and she seemed comfortable walking home alone, he didn't feel right just letting her walk home at night by herself.

The next day, Sebastian returned to the park where Nayoma was hanging out on the rocks. When she saw him approach, her face lit up and she waved at him. Sebastian jumped in the pond lake and swam to her and again they had another fun filled day, challenging each other in various water activities and getting more comfortable with each other. They were getting closer, and not just in a friendly sense, physically. Sebastian swam up to her as she sat on a rock outside of the water and put his hands on her knees. She moved her ankles to either side of his ribs and pressed against him firmly. She was too far up for a kiss but rubbing her gentle hands over his may have been just as good.

The following few days, Nayoma and Sebastian would return to Sebastians house, eat seafood, either cooked or delivered and watch movies. They showered together for the first time. She kissed him as the water beat down on their heads and ran down their faces. Sebastian grew excited, not just down there, but at the fact that he was finally able to not only see her completely naked body but embrace it against his and press his lips against hers. With the help of the hot shower water, Sebastian swelled. She felt it against her stomach and grabbed it in her hand. Slowly, she lowered herself to his waist, planting kisses on his neck, chest and abs on the way down. He closed his eyes and felt her warm mouth and tongue.

Each day that passed ended with Sebastian and Nayoma finishing the day in his bed before she made sure to return home before midnight. He still wasn't allowed to walk her home, even after asking and trying to assure her that it was alright, that he was alright. But still, she said he couldn't. A million things ran through his head as to why, but maybe it was for the better that he didn't know as there were a few things he could think of that would probably ruin any hopes for a future with her. Every day he saw her, the infatuation for her was even greater than the last. He couldn't help it, no matter how hard he tried, he may have been falling for her with the "L word". He wondered if she was feeling the same.

The next day, after playing in the pond lake, walking to his house, showering, and eating dinner, they fell asleep in his bed after finishing, the first time they did so. Sebastian thought it was a sign that he was finally gaining her trust enough for her to sleep with him. He is startled awake when she jumps up next to him, jumping out of bed and putting on her clothes.

"You alright?" Sebastian asks.

"Oh yeah, I overslept. It's already passed eleven, I have to get home." She says, slipping on her shirt. The alarm clock read: 11:47 pm. Sebastian gets out of bed and starts putting on some shorts too.

"I'll walk with you this time", he says. Nayoma let out a breath then walks up to him, meeting him at the foot of the bed and kisses him.

"I'm sorry. But we can't." She says. "I made a mistake again."

"Can't what?"

Nayoma cusps Sebastians jawline in her hands and presses her lips against his for a long while. He wrapped his arms around her ribs, savoring the moment.

"We just can't anymore," she said in a whisper, then hurries out of the room. Sebastian followed her to the front door where she hurried out, closing it behind her.

He wondered what in the hell was the problem. Why was she in such a hurry to leave and what couldn't they do anymore? They weren't official, not that he can recall, but it felt like she just broke up with him. He needed a better answer. He couldn't just let her go like that so suddenly without explanation. He had to see what was wrong.

Sebastian put on his hoodie and went out the door. On the lawn he could see that Nayoma was reaching the corner of the street. She jogged across, her skirt fluttering behind her. Sebastian jogs after her, trying to stay light on his feet and hoping she didn't turn around and see him following her.

All through the trail, Sebastian started to feel like a creep following her in the dark. He thought that she was taking the trail through the park to her home but started to realize that she was making her way back to the pond lake. Once it was confirmed that was where she was going, Sebastian thought that maybe she just wanted a quick dip, maybe to make it look like she was out night swimming. What he sees next didn't make any sense to his eyes. Suddenly, he felt as if he were in another reality.

Sebastian hid behind one of the trees and watched Nayoma jump into the pond lake. He now understood what she meant. Why they couldn't and why any feelings he developed for her couldn't stay. Anything he saw of them in the future swam away in the glittering water under the stars and the moonlight. He felt he loved her and seeing what he saw, amazed, confused and shocked him, and it also broke his heart. As she prepared to dive under the water near the far end of the pond lake, a large tail fin, one of a large brightly colored fish, shot up into the air behind her as she dove underwater before disappearing into its depths. Sebastians heart sank as she disappeared.

THE END.
