Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - God's one and only experimental subject -01

The weather had been bad all around the world. Always cloudy. The plants started to die long ago. Suicide became common. But electricity still worked. The wealthy bought multiple generators and built private greenhouses to survive. There is a so-called prodigy named "Alaric Dawn". The one who produced artificial sun. But the huge success and gaining lots of money after selling many the artificial suns, he quit producing artificial suns and stayed indoors and locked himself up. Despair settled into him like a permanent shadow. He feels despair, sorrow, grief. So, he rests everyday but still he doesn't wanna die while he rests, he researches and tries to become immortal and make everyone immortal. But was luck really on humanity's side… or not?

It has been 3 years since the artificial sun was invented. Alaric Dawn was drowning in his own research. He was about to give up but... In front of everyone, a blue window screen showed up. It has 2 options. One is "random ability" or "death". Under both of the options, there are descriptions for both options. Under "random ability" there said-

"You will be summoned into an RNG world. Everything depends on luck. You'll get an ability—you'll know some, but not all, of its details. Luck itself is random."

And under death option there said-

"You will meet god after death. However you died you will meet the real god. You will have to talk with him directly until you're satisfied and rest in peace forever"

Alaric Dawn's eyes widen at the window and instantly choose "random ability".

"I do not believe in god. So fuck yeah. If I am lucky I might become the thing I want to become. An immortal."

As the ability randomizer spun. He watched the screen. And it landed on a blank.

"What? Where is my ability? You fucking scammer. Where is my assigned ability?"

Without giving him an explanation, the window screen changed.

"Everyone has chosen their option. The transaction will begin now."

Every cloud started moving very fast. In just a split second a defining sound of thunder can be heard. The wind is rising very fast, everything goes silent, then...

"BOOM"

everyone in the world was struck by lightning. Everyone died in an instant but Alaric Dawn didn't. He felt the burning sensation for 10 seconds. That 10 seconds feels forever for him. It is like God is making him suffer. Each time his heart stopped, the lightning forced it to beat again until he burned down into ashes. And the old world reset to its starting point. Those who chose death to meet with god get to meet with the god. And those who chose to have a random ability were teleported to the RNG world.

After the lightning strike, everyone was scattered around the RNG world. Alaric Dawn woke up while screaming.

"Ahhhhh!!! Huh? I am alive. Wait... Where the fuck am I?"

He looked around. There is only a bed and a closet in the room.

"Fuck that god who made these things. Not giving me any abilities. And send me to the middle of everything."

Then, a young maid comes into the room. The maid looks like a young girl but her appearance makes the atmosphere heavy. Her voice was calm. Too calm. Like someone reading a verdict.

"You are awake. God's one and only experimental subject -01"

Alaric Dawn feels offended. But he controls himself and stays calm.

"What do you mean by God's one and only experimental subject -01?"

"Subject -01. You got a blank as your ability. That is an error that god never intended to have. But to ensure your survival, god has given you an ability to make you immortal. It is called "endless suffering"."

"I am immortal now? But why is the name like that?"

"I am taking my leave now. Once you're out of this room, please remember, you have already entered the RNG world"

As the maid left the room. He reached out and shouted-

"Hey! give me at least an explanation."

"You're no longer authorized to ask or talk to me now. As for doing something you are not authorized to do, you are now sentenced to die now."

"Wha-"

He shouted but he was not fast enough to dodge the instant death. The pain was not found but the fear lingered. As he died he started recalling himself dying by that strong lightning strike and the sensation of burning by that lightning feel for a brief second. Then he is back. Just one second back into the past. And he doesn't remember the pain and fear. But he is scared. He doesn't know why but he is scared. He remembers everything but he has forgotten 2 things. The pain and fear at that time. He realized his memories are altered now.

"Fuck! You fucking god. Making me a test subject. And altering my memories"

He shouted but he knew the god would only ignore him so he calmed himself down again. And he started trying to recall the pain and fear but he could only recall the surroundings and the feeling of surprise. He feels like he has to find the answer. So, he stepped outside the room in search of the answer. And wait something is wrong. There aren't any solid things he could step on outside the room. Having solid things outside the room is just an illusion. His eyes widen as he falls.

"What the fuck!"

As he hits the floor, he feels pain coursing through his vein but they all recover in a second. But when he looked up. He saw it staring at his soul. Under the huge tree, a pair of red eyes stare. He knows he is doomed. The creature heard his scream, and came to the place he fell. The figure stepped out of the shadow. The creature has a gorilla body but at his belly there is a huge frog head. Suddenly the RNG spin window showed up and began spinning. Blocking the view of the creature. As the RNG stopped it landed on an unbreakable knife that can be summoned to the owner no matter where. But as the RNG spin window disappears the creature is already approached and the frog's tongue has shot out and pulled him and swallowed him in one gulp. The foul smell makes him wanna vomit. But luckily he was just swallowed, he used the knife he just got to open the creature's belly with the knife and killed the creature at the same time. But the creature's stomach acid damages him severely. The acid burns him from every side. But the RNG spin window appears again and starts spinning again as the reward for killing the creature. And landed on "complete healing after death". And he started losing consciousness and died. Again. He recalls the sensation of lightning burn, acid burn and instant death pain and also recalls the fear he had at those times. He wants to scream but he can't.

He yelled, but deep down he already knew the god wouldn't answer. So he let the anger fade. Tried to remember the pain, or the fear, but honestly, all he could pull up was a blur—just the shock, the weirdness of his surroundings. The urge to figure things out kept nagging at him, so he left the room, hoping for some kind of answer.

But, hang on—something's off. There's nothing solid under his feet outside the room. No floor, no ground, nothing. The whole idea of solid ground out there was just a trick. His eyes went wide as he dropped.

"What the fuck!"

The ground slammed into him, pain shot through his body, but somehow, his wounds vanished in seconds. He blinked, dazed, and then looked up. That's when he saw it: under a massive tree, a pair of red eyes locked onto him. He knew right away—he was screwed. The thing had heard him. It stepped out of the shadows: a monster with a gorilla's body and, weirdly, a giant frog's head bulging from its belly.

Suddenly, a spinning RNG window popped up right in front of him, blocking his view. The wheel spun and spun, then stopped on "unbreakable knife—summon anytime, anywhere." Not bad. But the second the window faded, the monster was already there. The frog's tongue whipped out, yanked him in, and swallowed him whole. The stench inside almost made him puke.

Lucky for him, he still had that knife. He stabbed and slashed his way out from the inside, killing the creature as he went. But the acid in the monster's stomach burned him raw, tearing through him from every side. Then the RNG window spun up again, like a reward. This time it landed on "complete healing after death." He felt his mind slipping. Dying. Again.

He remembered the sharp crackle of lightning, the agony of acid, the split-second pain of dying, and the paralyzing fear that came with it all. He wanted to scream. But nothing came out.
