The battle between Amegakure and Sunagakure lasted the entire night.
There was no sign of the fighting dying down. Instead, more and more shinobi appeared throughout the canyon.
The situation grew increasingly grim.
Yubi instinctively guessed that Hanzo had launched a large-scale offensive. The Rain shinobi had used their earlier infiltration units to tear open Sunagakure's border defenses—then escalated the war while the line was broken.
He had expected Hanzo to start a war… but not this quickly.
The front-line outposts have probably already been scouted. But the rear area where we are… the enemy likely hasn't fully grasped our routes yet. Hanzo probably wants to catch us off guard before we can prepare.
Wind and sand whipped through the canyon as Yubi watched an explosion bloom on a nearby slope.
"Yubi, over here!"
Another medical ninja found a wounded shinobi and called out.
Yubi immediately rushed over and examined the patient.
"…This one can't be saved."
The Sand chunin's injuries were too severe. He was still breathing, but using antibiotics and nutrient injections would be a waste of precious supplies.
Yubi had expected a routine patrol mission and brought limited medicine meant to last months. After one night, most of it was already gone.
Medical resources couldn't be wasted. They had to be used on those who could still be saved.
Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh!
Several kunai suddenly flew toward them.
At the critical moment, the chunin escort knocked the weapons aside.
"Move!"
Rain shinobi were already approaching.
"Sasori isn't here…"
Yubi scanned the area and realized Sasori had vanished.
With more enemies entering the rear lines, encounters became constant. Even Sasori couldn't protect them everywhere.
Yubi and the other medic ran.
But the Rain ninja pursued.
Their chunin captain was quickly held back, and several Rain shinobi rushed toward Yubi.
A spinning surgical scalpel appeared in his hand.
He stopped running and turned to face them.
"You go," he told his teammate.
The other medic hesitated, then fled.
Three Rain shinobi surrounded Yubi in a triangle formation.
"A kid like you survived this long? Impressive."
"Medical ninja, huh…"
One sneered and threw shuriken.
Yubi dodged, but another enemy appeared behind him.
He slashed backward instantly.
The scalpel struck the opponent's armored gauntlet.
"Fast reflexes—"
The man's praise turned into shock.
Yubi's small fist slammed into his abdomen, striking a nerve cluster. Pain exploded through his body.
Before he could react, Yubi retreated.
Moments later, the man realized his lower body had gone numb.
Looking down, he saw a deep stab wound at his waist.
Blood pooled beneath him as he collapsed.
"Miura!"
The remaining two Rain ninja were stunned.
They chased Yubi.
"Watch out!"
Too late.
One stepped into a trap Yubi had set using the sandstorm as cover. An explosive tag detonated above, sending rocks crashing down.
The last Rain ninja continued chasing, assuming it was just an escape tactic.
But through the dust—
A silent shadow struck.
Yubi passed him in a blur.
Several seconds later, a thin line of blood appeared across the man's neck.
He fell dead.
Yubi didn't even look back.
Rain shinobi aren't used to the Land of Wind's terrain. Sandstorms reduce visibility, cliffs provide hiding spots, and my small size makes me easy to conceal… and easy to underestimate.
He returned to a nearby outpost.
These three were far weaker than last night's elite Rain ninja.
The battlefield situation was dire. Sunagakure had to hold out until reinforcements arrived.
Hanzo's surprise attack was working.
Yubi opened his system interface.

Battlefield experience was far more rewarding than hospital work.
Two types of EXP could be exchanged for different abilities.
His medicine supplies were nearly gone. From now on, he would need surgical skill and medical ninjutsu.

Creation Rebirth: Instant Healing – A-rank technique that heals wounds by preemptively focusing chakra before impact.
Poison Extraction Jutsu – B-rank technique for removing toxins or performing organ procedures.
Regenerative Healing Jutsu – A-rank.
Even higher-level techniques appeared—Tsunade's Strength of a Hundred Seal, Chiyo's Reanimation Jutsu, and more. But their costs were far beyond his current EXP.
"I'll exchange for the Chakra Scalpel and Mystical Palm Technique first."
His EXP was just enough—and these two techniques were essential.
