Listening to the System notifications ringing in his head, Shinji Akagi was overjoyed.

As a proper transmigrator, how could he possibly survive without a golden finger to rely on?

Due to an accident, he had transmigrated right into the middle of the Jashin Cult's "Descent of the Evil God" ceremony. The ritual brought this body back from the dead, granted him a slightly flawed version of immortality, and successfully activated his System.

It was just that the System he ended up with was a bit... unorthodox. Or rather, it was incredibly bizarre.

The activation requirement was literally 'Be cursed at least once.' If he hadn't conveniently "woken up" right in the middle of a demonic ritual—which counted as receiving the Curse of the Evil God—he probably would have gone his entire life without ever activating this ridiculous System.

Of course, the so-called "Descent of the Evil God" ceremony was really just a taboo human experimentation project orchestrated by the cult.

Logically speaking, an entity like an "Evil God" shouldn't even exist in the Naruto world. But since his bizarre System officially recognized it, Shinji wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth or dig too deeply into the lore. If he was getting a free power-up, he was going to take it.

After all, the Shinigami (Reaper Death Seal) existed in this world. Having an Evil God running around didn't seem too far-fetched.

What he hadn't expected was for this bizarre System to have so much ridiculous fine print.

Not only did his "Novice Starter Pack" inexplicably contain a literal curse, but the missions it issued were utterly exasperating.

Sure, there was absolutely no penalty for failing the missions. He could do them or ignore them.

The System's justification for this was that it 'refused to turn the Host into a puppet of the System, lest some self-righteous critics jump out to complain about it...' blah, blah, blah.

The excuse was invincible!

If he actually had any other choice, he would have uninstalled this freakish System on the spot! At the very least, he would have blown himself up and taken the System down with him!

Fortunately, he had restrained himself.

And after enduring untold hardships, he had finally completed the first phase of this garbage mission.

As a result, he had successfully obtained the Cursed Technique and Cursed Soul Points he so desperately needed. It was a perfectly timed lifeline.

"System, open my status panel."

[Note: 'Big brother abuses me a thousand times, but I treat big brother like my first love.' Sob, sob~]

Fuck you!

Truth be told, when Shinji first received this mission, he did try to get along with Hidan. After all, if your opponent didn't know the secret behind his [Immortal Body] and the [Death Controlling Possessed Blood] ritual, Hidan's lethality in the future was basically a cheat code!

Forget about Jonin—even if a Kage-level powerhouse showed up, as long as they fell for the trick, Hidan could kill them in minutes!

Furthermore, Hidan was essentially a character who debuted at his absolute peak. He didn't need any grueling training; as long as he learned his blood ritual, he was set.

Having a teammate like that by his side would naturally be incredibly reassuring.

That is, assuming you could tolerate Hidan's arrogant, motor-mouth personality.

But the problem was that Hidan, that idiot, inexplicably hated his guts. Forget about "getting along"—it was a miracle if they didn't immediately try to kill each other the second they made eye contact.

So, screw it!

Being a simp was out of the question. He would rather die than be a bootlicker!

'Big brother abuses me a thousand times, but I treat big brother like my first love?' Fine!

But he was going to reverse it!

He was going to beat Hidan until that idiot was molded into his exact ideal shape!

If the future Itachi Uchiha knew about this, he would probably call Shinji an expert in the field! He'd likely tap him on the forehead and give him a loving, brotherly smile.

Shinji had decided to emulate the Hidden Leaf's absolute best big brother. He was going to teach Hidan exactly what happened when you offended the 'Abbot'!

Of course, that was easy to say, but incredibly difficult to put into practice. Striking the right balance of physical and mental abuse was an art form.

Shinji had been provoking and beating the crap out of Hidan for a long time just to scrape together the measly 100 Bond Value points required for Phase One. It was truly a pitiful grind.

But Shinji hadn't given up on this "golden path"!

Over the past month of friction, he had started to figure out the tricks. He was confident that once he fully mastered the method, his mission progress would skyrocket.

Sooner or later, he would grind Hidan down into the perfect tool.

After all... the mission rewards were just too damn good!

Skimming past those three completely depressing Curses, Shinji focused his attention entirely on his newly acquired—and currently only usable—Cursed Technique.

Cursed Techniques were innate powers etched into a person's body and bloodline, fueled by their mental energy. They were typically powered by Cursed Energy.

Cursed Energy, as the name implied, was a special type of mental energy extracted entirely from the negative emotions of human beings.

When a Cursed Technique was fueled by Cursed Energy, it could cause catastrophic destruction or produce miraculous, logic-defying effects.

For example, Hidan's "Death Controlling Possessed Blood" ritual—killing the enemy by killing yourself!

Or the technique Shinji had just received... Blood Manipulation!

The moment Shinji acquired [Blood Manipulation], the System directly injected all the relevant knowledge on how to use it into his brain.

As the inherited Cursed Technique of the Kamo Clan—one of the Big Three Sorcerer Families in Jujutsu Kaisen—the potential of [Blood Manipulation] was definitely nothing to scoff at. Even if it seemed quite a bit weaker than the signature techniques of the other two families...

But for someone as currently broke and powerless as him, he had absolutely no right to be a choosing beggar.

More importantly, with this Cursed Technique, he could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Why?

Because...
