School life was more or less normal, everyone recognized her of course. A Selewyn couldn't go unnoticed for so long and that just means too much unwanted attention. In the first few weeks everyone was wondering why the daughter of Grace Adeltera Selewyn was in a medical training course when she should be in the army training.
So many questions "Why aren't you this?" and "Why aren't you that?" she found it highly annoying for her really. But it eventually died down.
Her course work was bearable for her, as expected of a significant character in a novel. Naturally Allicia Hera Selewyn was smart, tall, a beauty in their standards, she's an alpha too. Which of course she is, why wouldn't she?
She was too good just to be thwarted by a rival who has issues that would frightened any therapist. But alas alphas and their streaks.
She can't say she's an exception though, she merely submits to her biological needs but with limitations, training herself not to react too poorly if there is an unsuspecting omega passing by. Hell she even took one of those pheromone inhibitors.
She's now in the library ruminating the contents of the novel once again.
She remembered something finally! It would be just a year before the story would start, a country would attack there, and there would be a massive recruitment. But of course with an exception to a few medical students.
This reprieve is what gave her hope for a quiet life.
But this would be bad for their country as it lacks resources that they need to prepare for war, the government can't handle the fallout that well. As it was corrupt through its core. Even in a novel the political aspects are in dire need of help.
She supposed the author didn't put much thought into those things much as this was a typical romance story of course.
Anyway, she would just need to get top marks and be recruited to the best labs in the country for financial security. It's best to map out parts of the countries where the war couldn't reach for a peaceful life.
She needed to make a list of all the things she would do to avoid being in the plot, contingency plans to just to be on the safe side.
Her classes were in biology mostly which she is rather happy for, knowing how she works biologically it helps prevent accidents from happening.
This world was teeming with alphas and betas, omegas were a different case as they are only a few of them. 5:5:2 ratio to be exact, it's a small amount but the dominant genes of the Alphas overpowers the recessive omega DNA.
That goes without saying there is still a 50% chance an omega could be born from a family, but in this world only one to two children occupy per family which she finds incredibly weird.
There are certain cases though where the DNA shows up a few generations later. She sighs, the dissection of the ABO gene is giving her a headache.
She rested her head on the desk and closed her eyes for a few minutes.
