Chapter 424 - Chapter 434: Lulu's Magic

When he got polymorphed into a toad, Graves's entire brain short-circuited.

Although he knew Yordle magic was incredibly wondrous... wasn't being this wondrous a bit too absurd?

Although Polymorph seemed like a very simple concept and existed in many games, in reality, transfiguration magic was never something that could be casually mastered.

Especially like right now—transforming someone from the inside out, even morphing the weapon in their hands into a part of the toad's body. Let alone the completely dazed Graves, even Faen couldn't help but feel amazed.

Lulu's magic was truly miraculous. In the very beginning, Lulu didn't know this magic at all; she was just an ordinary, yet warm-hearted and kind little Yordle.

During one of her playtimes, she accidentally encountered something that looked like a bird with a broken wing—and that thing was none other than Pix, who now fluttered by her side.

Later, Pix took away Lulu's walking stick. Thinking it was playing a game with her, Lulu excitedly chased after him. By the time Lulu snapped out of it, she had already arrived in a magical realm she came to call the Glade.

Bandle City was already an intensely bizarre land of magic where logic didn't exist, time lost all meaning, and the natural laws of the material realm simply didn't apply.

However, the Glade was an even more wondrous place. According to the lore, it had existed long before the Yordles even appeared.

After arriving there, Pix first transformed Lulu's walking stick into the spiraling staff she wielded today, and then Lulu's own innate magic began to turn incredibly wild and unrestrained.

And this ability—to arbitrarily alter the shapes of surrounding objects, as well as her own form—was exactly the power Lulu acquired in the Glade.

Later on, Lulu somehow inexplicably ended up leaving the Glade. Although she constantly wanted to go back ever since, she could never find the path back.

Although she had left, Lulu's abilities didn't vanish. And through Faen's observation, the Polymorph spell Lulu mastered was absolutely not as simple as just using mana to forcibly and temporarily twist someone's appearance.

It was, in the truest sense, a reshaping of reality, altering the fundamental structure of the world, and remolding absolutely anything in this mundane material realm that made her feel restricted.

And now, observing the spellcasting process from such a close distance, even Faen couldn't help but click his tongue in awe.

Because Lulu's Polymorph didn't just act purely on magic and physical appearance; it directly altered Graves's very soul.

By reshaping the shape of the soul, it subsequently altered his form in the material realm, forcing every single aspect of him into a true, and potentially even irreversible, transfiguration.

And the scope of this transfiguration was limited only by Lulu's own imagination. If Lulu considered something to be part of the same entity, then whether it was clothing or a weapon, it would be treated as a single whole and polymorphed all together.

This reminded Faen of the long-tongued chameleon girl, Neeko. But Neeko's shapeshifting could only be applied to her own body, whereas Lulu was different. Lulu's Polymorph could forcibly turn others into completely different things.

It wasn't just a simple debuff either; if Lulu wanted to, she could even turn someone into an actual, literal dragon.

Of course, one couldn't speak in absolutes and say Lulu completely outclassed Neeko, because Neeko could also replicate the memories of the person she transformed into.

Lulu couldn't do that—but Lulu had more than enough power to use her magic to turn a nest of ants into her very own army of dragons.

And it would be turning them into dragons in the truest sense; the transfigured targets would possess every single ability of that creature as imagined by Lulu.

For example, the current Graves—whether it was his croaks or the way he hopped around—was utterly indistinguishable from a normal toad.

However... this ability also seemed to be constrained by the boundaries of Lulu's own mindset?

Faen theorized in his heart—because the very existence of this transfiguration magic originated from the whimsical thoughts in Lulu's mind. This unconstrained imagination and creativity were exactly what allowed the Polymorph to become reality. If Lulu were truly turned into a cold and ruthless person, this magic would likely vanish from her completely.

No wonder so many people viewed Yordles as lucky charms. These naturally lively, perpetually cheerful and happy little creatures truly did possess an inexplicable, mysterious kind of good luck.

Of course, it was also highly possible that precisely because they didn't stress too deeply over anything, they were blessed with such phenomenal luck.

Seeing Graves turned into a tiny little toad, Twisted Fate, standing off to the side, showed absolutely zero intention of stepping up to help his partner.

Instead, putting on the face of an utterly indifferent terrible friend, he said: "You see? What did I tell you? Don't go provoking Yordles for no reason; it'll drain every last drop of your good luck~"

"Croak! Croak!!" Graves croaked excitedly, perhaps calling for help?

But Twisted Fate still just looked helpless:

"Stop croaking, I genuinely can't understand a word you're saying. Actually, I feel like your luck is still pretty decent; after all, you managed to wait from noon all the way until nightfall before suffering the consequences. But I think you'd better figure out how you're going to apologize, otherwise, your suffering is far from over."

Saying this, Twisted Fate tipped his hat to Lulu and Faen in greeting, then said:

"Graves only wanted to sell these Yordles to those Demacian nobles; there was never any threat to their lives. So I hope you can be the bigger person and let this slide... Of course, if you're not willing to let him go, that's fine too. Just beat him up and leave me out of it, because I had absolutely zero involvement from start to finish. If you don't believe me, ask them."

Twisted Fate pointed at Tristana and the others locked in the cage.

Tristana nodded and corroborated, "This guy really didn't hurt us... He even tried to plead on our behalf, although it was completely useless."

To this, Faen simply gave an 'OK' sign, indicating there was no problem.

Afterward, Faen walked straight up to the cage, preparing to open the door.

Seeing this, Tristana frantically tried to stop him: "Wait a second! You can't touch this cage!"

"Oh?" Faen raised an eyebrow.

Tristana anxiously explained, "This cage is incredibly weird! It sucks away all magical energy! I tried to pry it open at first, but the moment I touched it, it burned my hands terribly! It's too terrifying!"

To this, Faen was not surprised.

Because in Faen's perception, not just Tristana, but every single Yordle had an absolutely massive, almost unimaginable amount of magical power within their bodies.

It was just that they only ever thought about playing and having fun, possessing zero interest in systematically studying magic, which was why they never truly mastered it.

However, for Faen, this runic iron was clearly of absolutely no use.
