Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The First Time Travel Simulation

Within his line of sight, there were only three solitary options: [Shop], [Map], and [Achievements].

[Shop] and [Achievements] were currently empty. Clicking into the map interface, there was only one selectable map:

[lost in the mist]: Transmigration Price — 1 Transmigration Coin.

Looking at his balance of 2 Transmigration Coins, he didn't really have a choice. He decided to spend one Transmigration Coin and go in to see what it was about.

He focused his attention on [lost in the mist], and several more messages immediately popped up in his vision.

[Preparing for transmigration...]

[Matching you in a parallel space...]

[Please select three talents from the following ten as matching conditions]

[1. Uneven Legs (White): Your two legs are not the same length.]

[2. Narcissus (Blue): You are handsome, but very narcissistic.]

[3. Doctor of Electrical Engineering (Purple): You are an authority in the field of electrical engineering.]

[4. Healthy Diet (White): Your diet consists only of vegetarian food; you never touch meat.]

[5. Minor Luck (Green): Your luck receives a slight boost.]

[6. Zidane (Purple): You possess ball skills as awesome as Zidane's, but as a trade-off, your hairstyle is exactly like his at 35 years old.]

[7. Literary Talent (Blue): Your literary talent is very high.]

[8. Fair-minded (Blue): You are very fair in your dealings.]

[9. Trendy (Green): Your fashion sense is very good.]

[10. Futa (Purple): Your reproductive system seems a bit different from others.]

[Please match talents carefully; each re-match requires 1 Transmigration Coin.]

Zhou Ning:...This game seems a bit silly!

What the heck are uneven legs? What the heck is Zidane? And what the heck is Futa?

Actually, there wasn't much to choose from; the best options were only 3, 5, and 7.

[You have selected Talent 3, Talent 5, and Talent 7.]

[Match successful. The you in the parallel world is a Doctor of Electrical Engineering, possesses high literary talent, and is very lucky, often winning free drinks with 'try again' on beverage purchases.]

[When you die in the simulation, the game ends.]

[Traveling in the time machine... 1%... 33%... 65%... 95%... Swoosh... Transmigration complete.]

A few seconds later, Zhou Ning, who was still waiting for transmigration, was dumbfounded. He had thought he could just 'biu' away and temporarily escape his predicament, but after all that, he was still in this dim, gloomy room! However, the blue subtitles in front of him began to scroll.

He'd been tricked; this was actually a text-based game!

[You have transmigrated to London in 1894. From this moment on, the wheels of history begin to turn.]

[December 18, 1894: As a Doctor of Electrical Engineering, you are full of ambition, hoping to invent a generator, but you are startled to discover that generators already exist in this world. Your professional knowledge tells you that the first generator was invented by the Frenchman Pixii in 1832, so the time of your transmigration should be the latter half of the 19th century. Oh right, you haven't eaten today and your stomach is very hungry, but it doesn't matter. As a researcher, forgetting to eat and sleep is common; you can definitely endure it.]

[December 19, 1894: You finally figured out the exact date. Still full of ambition, you want to invent a two-phase AC generator before Tesla, but you find that you have no partners, no research tools, no laboratory, and no one is willing to provide them. You still haven't eaten today, and your stomach is very hungry, but you can still endure it... Just kidding.]

[December 20, 1894: You are ravenously hungry, dizzy from starvation. Today, you start thinking of just finding any job to survive, but your English isn't very fluent. You can read but not speak, and you begin to regret not having studied English properly. Transmigration isn't that simple.]

[December 21, 1894: Your clothes were stolen by a homeless man, and you were beaten, sustaining serious injuries. You lingered outside a bakery for a long time. You seem quite lucky; a kind person across the street observed you for a long time. He bought you a few pieces of bread. You cried with gratitude.]

[December 22, 1894: Today was another day of failed job hunting, but your English communication improved quite a bit. At least you can understand some and exchange a few sentences. You gained skill: Basic English Proficiency.]

[December 23, 1894: You are too weak to walk. Ravenously hungry, you reached out your sinful hands towards the bread displayed at a roadside bakery. You were discovered, severely beaten, and several of your ribs were broken, making it impossible to walk. You gained expertise: Basic Endurance. You gained skill: Basic Pickpocketing.]

[December 24, 1894: On Christmas Eve night, it snowed. The aroma of turkey wafted from shop windows, and the atmosphere outside was harmonious. You lay in the snow, silently freezing to Death on the streets of London. Two days later, that same kind person eventually found a burial plot for you.]

[You gained achievement: Orphan of the lost in the mist.]

[Evaluation: From transmigration to Death, 7 days passed. Arrogant and incompetent are hardly sufficient to describe your uselessness. However, it's worth noting that the person who gave you bread and paid for your burial was named George Bernard Shaw. He drew inspiration from your unfortunate transmigration life and, in 1895, created the famous novel "The Wanderer's Lament," which went down in history. Your tragic character not only shocked all of Europe but also brought George Bernard Shaw fame and fortune, earning him the first Nobel Prize in Literature in 1895. It also sparked a wave of public outcry among the British people regarding their country's social welfare system. In a sense, this literary giant also profited from your misfortune.]

[Evaluation Level: F, World Exploration: 0.2%. Due to your profound impact on world literary history, you receive 1 Transmigration Coin, and you gain 500 experience points.]

"That's it?" Looking at this brief, boring, and monotonous life, Zhou Ning's expression changed from bewilderment to disbelief, then to extreme shock. He wanted to curse, but didn't know where to begin, and finally could only let out a long sigh:

"Alas!"

Although he was speechless and unwilling to admit it, if it were truly him transmigrating, it probably wouldn't have turned out much better.

He had disgraced his fellow transmigrators.

[Simulation ended. Host, please make a choice as soon as possible.]

[One, randomly acquire three skills and proficiencies obtained during your transmigration process.]

[Two, randomly draw three items obtained during your transmigration process.]

Upon seeing these two options, Zhou Ning unhesitatingly chose the first one.

[You have gained skill: Basic Pickpocketing.]

[You have gained expertise: Basic Endurance.]

[You have gained skill: Basic English.]

[Since you have mastered two or more foreign languages, you have unlocked a new sub-profession: Linguist.]

A moment later, Zhou Ning felt that some basic English knowledge and thieving knowledge suddenly appeared in his mind, and a new expertise also appeared in his skill bar.

[Basic Endurance: Stamina growth factor +0.13, Willpower +1. The influence of negative debuffs such as hunger, thirst, and cold is slightly reduced.]

——

In "Apocalypse," Strength determines physical attack and physical attack Upper limit. All melee DPS professions will have high Strength.

Agility determines movement speed, attack speed, Evasion ability, and additionally increases ranged attack power. If it's a ranged physical DPS, putting points into it is definitely not wrong.

Stamina increases maximum health. Every 1 point of Stamina adds 10 base health and 12 stamina points. Some proficiencies and skills can affect this coefficient and even slightly increase defense.

Willpower, on the other hand, determines resistance to abnormal statuses and maximum willpower. The higher the Willpower, the higher the resistance to abnormal statuses, and it can also increase learning speed.

Spirit is roughly equivalent to spellcasting talent and mana regeneration speed, determining the attack power and sustainability of magic professions. This is also the main attribute for magic professions. If this attribute is low, magic professions are basically out of the question.

Charisma affects initial favorability with characters and factions, and allows for discounts when trading with NPCs.

Looking at the newly added skills and expertise on his panel, Zhou Ning confirmed one thing:

That is, the two games have indeed merged, and things obtained in the transmigration simulator can be synchronized back to reality.
