Chapter 19 - Thunder Type Awakens

In the Ruined Town's core area, within a dilapidated residential complex.

Over a dozen ferocious beasts were divided into two camps, treating each other as prey for lunch and fighting fiercely.

The two camps were Unicorn Rhinos and Arm Blade Tigers. If their numbers were equal, the Unicorn Rhinos would completely dominate.

However, there were eight Arm Blade Tigers here, but only four Unicorn Rhinos.

In terms of strength, the difference between the two sides was not significant; the Arm Blade Tigers only had a slight advantage.

It was precisely because of this that, although both sides had been fighting for a while, tearing at each other and inflicting numerous bloody wounds, no beast had died yet.

Beasts are inherently brutal; once they start fighting, they won't stop until they've killed all their opponents.

However, just then, one of the Arm Blade Tigers sniffed its nose and suddenly stopped its charge.

It crouched low and let out a threatening growl towards the complex's main entrance.

This low growl, like a chain reaction, caused all the Arm Blade Tigers and Unicorn Rhinos present to stop their fight in a tacit understanding.

Then, they turned around, facing the entrance with fierce eyes, their bodies poised for a charge at any moment.

Under the gaze of the beasts, a tall human youth slowly appeared.

The youth wore a black battle suit and combat boots, with a slender and tall physique.

His eyes were clear and bright, yet his gaze was as sharp as a lone wolf's.

A thick, dark Black Obsidian Spear was casually slung over his shoulder, its sharp blade glinting with a chilling cold light under the sunlight.

"Twelve ferocious beasts, very good."

Astret nodded with satisfaction.

This wave of beasts was the largest he had encountered in the past hour.

He slammed the butt of the spear with his right hand, and the Black Obsidian Spear, which had flown up, fell into Astret's hand.

Just as he was about to charge into the beast pack with his spear, he suddenly frowned, stopped, and looked to his right.

There was a dilapidated old building there: "Come out, I've found you."

"As expected of the first-place student, his senses are indeed sharp."

A handsome boy with a long sword strapped to his back walked out from the shadow of the building.

"Zhou Mingyang?"

Astret raised an eyebrow.

This person was none other than Zhou Mingyang, the 'Light Wind Sword' who possessed a B-grade wind element ability.

Compared to his elegant appearance outside the Martial Arts college entrance exam venue, Zhou Mingyang now looked a bit travel-worn.

His hair was disheveled, and his battle suit was stained with dark red blood, whether his own or a beast's, he didn't know.

Of course, most of the examinees in the examination hall were in this state.

Astret himself was the same, but because he used a long spear, less blood splattered on him.

"But how did you know it was me?"

Astret was a bit puzzled.

He didn't think this famous star student would know him, a student from Second High School.

"Only a few people dare to enter the core area, and we're all old acquaintances."

"Now that a stranger suddenly appears, it can only be you, the first-place student."

Zhou Mingyang explained with a smile.

"I see."

Astret nodded.

During the Martial Arts college entrance exam, examinees could not attack each other; once discovered, they would permanently lose their examination qualification.

Coupled with the tracking drones above their heads, there was even less need to worry about Zhou Mingyang launching a sneak attack or anything of the sort.

So, Astret, holding his spear, was about to walk towards the beast pack not far away.

"Wait, are you planning to deal with this group of beasts by yourself?"

Zhou Mingyang was stunned and quickly reached out to stop him.

"What? Do you want to steal my kills?"

Astret's gaze became dangerous.

For him, beasts not only meant points but also ability points!

He couldn't give these beasts to anyone else.

Meeting Astret's gaze, Zhou Mingyang felt goosebumps rise as if he had been targeted by a powerful beast king.

What a fierce aura!

He marveled inwardly, then Zhou Mingyang quickly reacted and said:

"There are two first-tier mid-level beasts here; you can't handle them alone. If we team up, there might be a chance."

These were two different beast packs, and each pack had a first-tier mid-level king.

He had been hiding nearby, waiting for them to injure each other before making his move.

But now, although both sides of the beasts were injured, they hadn't lost any members and were in a furious, fierce state.

Going in at this time would essentially be seeking death.

"No need, I can do it alone."

Seeing that Zhou Mingyang wasn't trying to steal his kills but wanted to cooperate, Astret's attitude immediately improved.

He patted his shoulder, then charged out with his spear.

"Hey…"

Zhou Mingyang still wanted to persuade him, but seeing that Astret had already charged out, he could only give up.

"Alright, since you're so confident, let me see what methods you truly possess!"

Zhou Mingyang stood to the side with his sword, watching the battle, his gaze fixed on Astret.

If anything went wrong, he would quickly join the fight.

However, the next scene made Zhou Mingyang's eyes widen.

Astret, who had charged into the beast pack, was like a warrior unleashed.

The Black Obsidian Spear in his hand was like a phantom; each thrust took the life of a beast.

In less than three minutes, out of the twelve beasts in the arena, only the last four remained!

"This…"

Zhou Mingyang was shocked.

Two hours ago, he didn't even know such a person existed.

But then, the other party rose like a comet.

Not only did he quickly rush into the top ten, but just over ten minutes ago, he directly snatched away his first place!

Naturally, Zhou Mingyang was very curious about such a formidable person and even imagined what terrifying ability the other party might possess.

Was it some extremely powerful A-grade ability!

However, the other party simply used that Black Obsidian Spear to achieve a crushing victory that he didn't even dare to imagine!

Gulp~

Zhou Mingyang swallowed, feeling his mouth dry: "Does he have some kind of enhancement ability that I didn't notice?"

While he was secretly guessing and pondering in place, Astret quickly finished his harvest, and the last Arm Blade Tiger King fell to the ground.

'Killed a first-tier low-level Unicorn Rhino, ability points +12.'

'Killed a first-tier low-level Arm Blade Tiger, ability points +10.'

'Killed a first-tier mid-level Arm Blade Tiger, ability points +15.'

'...'

Listening to the series of notifications in his mind, Astret's expression was one of enjoyment.

This feeling was truly wonderful.

"But after the Martial Arts college entrance exam ends, there won't be such a good opportunity."

"So, I must seize the time…"

Astret came back to his senses, greeted Zhou Mingyang, and then quickly left.

By the time Zhou Mingyang reacted, Astret had already darted seven or eight meters away.

So he quickly asked loudly: "Astret, do you have an enhancement ability?"

"No, it's Lightning-type!"

Astret's voice came from afar, but his figure had already completely disappeared from sight.

"Thunder... Lightning-type?!"

Zhou Mingyang was dumbfounded; where was there any sign of Lightning-type just now?

"He doesn't want to tell me his ability type, but he shouldn't be so perfunctory with me, what a guy with a terrible personality."

Zhou Mingyang's expression was resentful.

"And that look just now, was he worried I'd steal his kills?"

"Who else but a freak like you could deal with such a pack of beasts?"

"Besides, with so many beasts in the core area, do you still need to worry about not having beasts to kill?"

"Speaking of which, I've been waiting here for over ten minutes, so if anyone's stealing kills, it's you stealing mine…"

Given Astret's poor attitude, Zhou Mingyang was still grumbling as he left.
