'Does equality truly exist?'
'No it doesn't?' A young man with short blonde hair, brown eyes with sharp brows thought to himself
'Equality is just a term people use to feel equal to others and to demand things of others'
He was lying on his bed his bed looked rigid and finished his room had cracks almost everywhere
He looked at his white ceiling as he thought over his life, his parents had died whilst he was only nine he wanted time to stop and let him cry over their deaths but the cruel world didn't even give him this
Relatives who he had never seen had appeared they offered him a place to stay once he accepted their help he soon realised that he had been scammed once he turned twelve they rented a broken down apartment for him to live in while sending money not even dogs would admire to him to sustain himself
Thinking of his relatives he gritted his teeth in anger
'Just you wait!'
He raised his right arm on closer inspection the were faint golden lines these lines were in a disorganised state
"My will has stopped increasing"
He muttered to himself he sighed after he said this he thought through some matters, he got up from his bed and left his room
His apartment had two rooms his bedroom and a living room
He used a public bathroom to freshen himself up
After leaving his room he directly arrived in his living room, He had a small black couch and a TV close to his TV was a two plated stove the was also a mini fridge in the living room which was close to his couch
He let out a yawn and reached for his phone which was on the couch checking the time he muttered
"I'll be late"
He left his apartment and went to the public bathroom after waiting for the person who was bathing to finish he entered
The water was cold he preferred bathing in hot water as such he bathed as fast as possible
Despite being raised in terrible conditions he was picky with what he does
He soon arrived back in his apartment there he went to his room and got a black tracksuit after putting this on he left the apartment
He walked on the uneven road a car would occasionally pass by but most avoided this road the were Street junkies loitering around looking for prey, people smoking and women who wore tight exposing clothes looking to sell themselves
"Adam!" He heard a voice call out to him from behind
He looked at where this voice came from and saw a young girl who was wearing the same black tracksuit as him she had slightly long brown hair and brown eyes she had a fair appearance
He stopped walking and waited for her to catch up soon she was three metres from him
"Morning" he said to the girl his voice sounded exhausted
"Morning" she replied to his greeting her voice had a hint of exhaustion in it
"Aren't we late?"he asked her
"Yes we are we should probably hurry" she replied nonchalantly
They both walked fast and soon arrived at a huge wall the wall was black the stood two large gates at the centre
They both walked up to these gates
They were two guards at the gates they guards looked at the two of them they were a few people walking in as well
They took out ID cards and handed them to the guards after inspecting the cards the guards let them in
After entering Adam first saw a huge forest filled with luxurious green plants they were a few large birds flying in the sky a distance away
"Which team are you on today" Adam asked
"Team four how bout you" she replied
"Team five, it seems we're on different teams"Adam said while looking at a group of people to his left
"Yeah see you when where done" she said,she walked to Adam's right and meet up with a group of people
Merlin walked left and soon met up with a group of people they were ten in total six men and four women
"You're late" a middle aged man told him once he arrived
"Sorry Captain" Adam said politely
After humanity was saved by they five Gods humans were granted will each person had a will corresponding to a colour
The colour your will corresponds to is the domain you use
If your will is black you're use abilities of the shadow domain which belongs to the Goddess of darkness
How well you use these abilities will depend on which rank your will is in ranks start from one and end at eight
Above the ranks one attains divinity
Adam is currently a rank two with a golden will belonging to the light domain which comes from the God of light
Humanity had once fought monstrous creatures they five Gods saved humanity from their fates at the hands of these creatures by giving them wills however these creatures still exist and are found in places called labyrinths
In these labyrinths those with wills can choose to fight inhuman creatures and obtain merit points with merit points you can buy swords, armour and alike or convert it to the current currency
Fighting in labyrinths has it's advantages and disadvantages, the main advantages would be in helps in increasing your rank the main disadvantage is that death is ever close
"Let's head out to labyrinth two" the captain said in a commanding tone and started to walk
Adam and the rest followed him while walking they would occasionally meet other groups the past through dense forests and avoid the inhuman creatures they found
The soon reached a cave like area in it they saw three green creatures these creatures had long ears and big eyes their skin was rough, they were each holding a weapon made of stone or wood
They didn't wear any clothes leaving their bodies exposed
They had a muscular build, some of them were tall while some were short
They group was a distance away from these creatures
The captain gave a signal
Shortly after he gave the signal two women pointed their arrows at the creatures
"Fire," the captain said, the moment he said this they shot their arrows at the creatures
They arrows pierced the rough green skin of these creatures
They creatures looked in the direction of where the arrows had come from
Adam sprinted at them they creatures looked at him with rage, they charged at him but he raised both of his arms as if hugging the sun soon a blinding orange light was seen
The creatures staggered and closed their eyes once they saw the light
Arrows continued to rain on them each of these creatures soon had grave wounds on them
Five other members including the captain had arrived close to the creatures they had weapons such as spears and swords
They mercilessly attacked the creatures untill the all creatures died
Once the creatures were dead they let out a sigh of relief, these creatures were called Xions they were a lesser version of Vixon
They had a low intelligence the Xions don't have females in them as such they capture women and do unspeakable things to them
The were worth about one thousand merits each they kill about three of them if the were to share equally each would get about three hundred merit after the reduction of fines for entering the labyrinth we would get two hundred each but that's assuming it would be shared evenly
"Let's check for hostages inside" the captain said
Rescuing the captured would give extra merits
They soon entered the cave deeper in the cave the heard heavy breathing,we carefully walked towards the breathing, in a secluded area we found three women tied up they were fully naked with blood all over them they each had a large number of bruises on them some of them had missing limbs
'Disguisting'
Such a scene wasn't rare this cave was small and belonged to a small group of Xions if it belonged to a larger group the scale of women would have been more
They group went to check up on them, they women each had lifeless eyes they were alive but unresponsive this condition was called a Xions curse, once a Xions fluids enters a humans body they enter a vegetable state
"One of them is pregnant" a woman from our group said her voice sounded saddened when she said this
Upon hearing these words we all looked at the captain
He was quiet for a while then said with reluctance
"Kill her"
Once a Xion impregnates someone the child would tear open their stomach to escape during pregnancy they would experience extreme pain and would occasionally hear whispers most people go insane it's advised to kill someone who has a Xions child
The woman close to her took out a knife before killing her she whispered a prayer
"May the Goddess who reigns over darkness embrace your soul and welcome you in her kingdom"
The captain then whispered
"May the God who reigns over life and death guide your soul in finding salvation"
Adam then whispered
"May the God who reigns over light embrace your soul and help you find peace"
In the party the were ten people, five of them believed in the Goddess of darkness, four believed in the God of war while only Adam believed in the God of light the prayers they gave were to help her soul find salvation in death
The pregnant woman's throat was sliced as she soon lost her life throughout the whole precess she had not regained her cognition
After ensuring she was died they cut her stomach open in it a small green fetus was seen
Xions can still live even if their mother dies as such the child had to be killed
With eyes carrying hatred the woman killed the young Xion
Adam's fingers touched his head then his left shoulder then his right shoulder
