Chapter 50 - Chapter 50 — The First Divine Descent

The sky did not simply darken.

It collapsed.

Clouds twisted into massive spirals, folding inward as if dragged by an unseen gravity. Thunder cracked like the breaking of ancient bones, and streaks of cosmic light tore through the heavens, carving glowing scars across reality itself.

Across the shattered plains of Astra Prime, every warrior felt it.

The pressure.

The fear.

The arrival.

Kael Arden stood at the center of the ruined battlefield, his cloak snapping violently in the rising storm. The Radiant Core burned within his chest, pulsing faster, brighter, screaming warnings into his veins.

This was no ordinary enemy.

This… was divine.

Around him, the surviving heroes of the Radiant Vanguard tightened their formation. Blood stained their armor. Some leaned on broken weapons. Others fought to stay standing. Yet none retreated.

They all knew.

Running was no longer an option.

A tremor rippled through the land. Mountains in the distance cracked. Entire city ruins sank into glowing fissures. From the heavens, a colossal circular sigil ignited ancient, complex, and incomprehensible, layered with thousands of rotating symbols.

The Celestial Gate.

It opened.

A beam of blinding golden light slammed into the battlefield, blasting a massive crater into the earth. Shockwaves exploded outward, flinging soldiers across kilometers. Kael skidded backward, barely anchoring himself by driving his blazing blade into the stone.

The air screamed.

From the crater, something rose.

At first, it appeared humanoid.

Tall.

Slender.

Wrapped in flowing armor sculpted from living light. Six radiant wings unfolded from its back, each feather composed of glowing sigils. Its face was masked, carved from crystal gold, bearing no emotion only judgment.

Behind it, the Celestial Gate shimmered, threatening to unleash more.

A voice thundered across the battlefield, echoing inside every mind.

"Mortal defiance has exceeded acceptable limits."

"By decree of the Celestial Throne, eradication begins."

The pressure intensified. Several warriors collapsed instantly, blood leaking from their eyes. The air itself became suffocating.

One of the heroes, Liora, dropped to one knee, gasping.

"Kael… that thing… it's not just strong…"

Her voice trembled.

"It's law."

Kael clenched his fists.

His power flared.

"No," he growled. "It's just another tyrant."

The divine being extended a single glowing hand.

Reality warped.

A beam of annihilating light erupted toward the Vanguard.

"MOVE!" Kael roared.

He launched forward, Radiant Blaze erupting around him in a storm of crimson-gold fire. His blade intercepted the beam, detonating in a blinding explosion that vaporized everything within a kilometer radius.

The ground vanished.

The sky split.

Kael slammed into the earth, carving a burning trench as he skidded backward. His muscles screamed. His bones cracked. Smoke poured from his armor.

But he stood.

The divine entity tilted its head slightly.

"Interesting."

With a flick of its fingers, the battlefield transformed.

Dozens of luminous portals opened, and from each descended towering celestial warriors armored constructs wielding spears, blades, and cannons forged from condensed starlight.

The Celestial Army had arrived.

Instantly, chaos erupted.

Explosions tore through the land. Energy beams ripped across the battlefield. Titans clashed. Magic collided with divine force, warping space itself.

The Radiant Vanguard surged forward.

Blades met halos.

Steel clashed against starlight.

The battlefield became a living apocalypse.

Kael cut through three celestial soldiers in a single motion, his blade burning through divine armor like molten steel through ice. He twisted midair, dodging a lance of holy energy that obliterated a mountain behind him.

Yet for every enemy he felled, two more took their place.

They were endless.

A massive explosion erupted to his left.

Astra the lightning commander crashed into the ground, blood pouring from her mouth.

Kael blurred to her side. "Stay with me!"

She coughed weakly. "They're adapting… every time we strike… they recalibrate…"

His stomach tightened.

That was bad.

Very bad.

High above, the masked divine general raised both hands.

The Celestial Gate expanded.

And something far worse began to descend.

The pressure multiplied tenfold.

Even the divine soldiers retreated.

A colossal presence stirred.

From the heart of the gate emerged a second being — vastly larger, armored in obsidian and gold, its eyes burning like twin suns. Chains of cosmic scripture wrapped around its body, humming with unimaginable power.

A Celestial Executor.

A god-killer.

Its mere arrival fractured continents.

Entire oceans evaporated beneath its aura.

Kael's vision swam.

This wasn't a fight.

This was extinction.

The Executor lifted its weapon a massive greatsword forged from condensed laws of reality.

And swung.

The world split.

A vertical line of annihilation tore across the battlefield, vaporizing everything in its path. Thousands died instantly. Entire sections of land ceased to exist.

Kael barely reacted in time, throwing up a Radiant barrier as the attack slammed into him.

Pain exploded.

His shield shattered.

He was hurled backward, crashing through three mountain ranges before slamming into a collapsed city.

Blood filled his mouth.

His vision blurred.

The Radiant Core dimmed.

For the first time since awakening his power…

Kael felt fear.

He pushed himself up.

The battlefield was in ruins.

The Vanguard was broken.

Their numbers reduced by nearly half in seconds.

The Celestial Army advanced relentlessly.

And above all, the Executor raised its blade once more.

Kael's mind raced.

This was not winnable by strength alone.

He reached inward deeper than ever before past the blazing surface of his power, beyond the roaring inferno of Radiant Blaze.

Into the silent core.

There, something ancient stirred.

A memory not his own.

A presence vast beyond comprehension.

The First Flame.

His blood ignited.

Visions tore through him primordial wars, fallen gods, shattered dimensions, the birth of stars through violence.

His soul screamed.

Power surged.

Kael roared.

A pillar of crimson-gold fire erupted from his body, piercing the heavens. The pressure forced even the Celestial Executor to step back.

The sky warped.

Time trembled.

A burning sigil unfolded behind Kael enormous, ancient, and terrifying.

The Mark of the Sovereign Flame.

Every surviving warrior felt it.

Hope.

Fear.

Awe.

Kael floated into the air, his eyes blazing like twin suns.

His voice echoed across the battlefield.

"Enough."

The Executor charged.

Kael vanished.

Their collision detonated like a newborn star.

The explosion shattered entire dimensions. Shockwaves rippled across planetary systems. Space folded and unfolded violently.

Kael struck once.

Twice.

Three times.

Each blow tore chunks of divine armor apart.

The Executor retaliated, slamming Kael through collapsing realities, crushing him beneath the weight of cosmic law.

Yet Kael rose again.

And again.

And again.

Their battle became legend in seconds.

A clash that rewrote physics.

A war that fractured destiny.

Finally, Kael drove his blade directly into the Executor's core.

The divine giant froze.

Cracks of blazing fire spread across its body.

With a thunderous scream that echoed across existence itself, the Celestial Executor exploded.

The shockwave annihilated the remaining celestial soldiers and sealed the Celestial Gate in a storm of collapsing energy.

Silence followed.

Heavy.

Absolute.

The battlefield smoldered.

Kael descended slowly, his power fading.

He collapsed to one knee.

His body trembled.

The Radiant Core flickered dangerously.

Astra rushed to his side, catching him before he fell. "You did it…"

He shook his head weakly. "No… this was only the beginning."

Above them, the sky slowly stabilized.

But far beyond mortal perception…

Eyes watched.

Thrones stirred.

And gods whispered his name.

Kael Arden.

The war had begun.
