Chapter 3 - What Is She Waiting For?

9:07 PM — Ten Days Later

It's been over a week.

She's still keeping her distance.

...Measured.

He's quieter lately.Less frantic.Or maybe just more careful.

They still talk sometimes.

She mentioned that casually.

"We called earlier."

Like it didn't mean anything.

But it means something.

I keep wondering what those conversations sound like.

Is he promising change? Is she encouraging him?Are they pretending everything is normal?Or are they finally talking honestly?

She once told me that change takes time.

That she's been working on herself for years.

Years.

You don't rebuild emotional patterns in a week.

So what is she waiting for?

Is she secretly hoping he'll prove something?

That he'll stabilize.Regulate.Show up differently.

Is this distance a test?

Or is it closure in slow motion?

I don't think she's the type to linger for nothing.

If she's still talking to him, there's intention behind it.

She doesn't do things halfway.

But I also know she won't sacrifice herself to wait forever.

So where's the line?

How long do you give someone to grow before you accept who they are right now?

That's what I don't understand.

I always thought relationships were about choosing someone and sticking with it.

But maybe it's more complicated.

Maybe sometimes you choose someone…

and then wait to see if they can choose themselves.

I don't know what her plan is.

I don't know if she even knows.

But I have a feeling this isn't over.

Not yet.
