Chapter 98 - Chapter 118: The Abyssal Anchor and the Seed of Malice

The transition from the high-tech, metal-ringed orbit of Kuat to the verdant, watery jewel of Naboo was a localized environmental relief that Revan Shan met with a lightweight silk tunic, a fresh batch of Gungan-style kelp rolls, and a very particular brand of 12th-Doctor-esque grimness. As 81 BBY progressed, the Black Pearl submerged into the planet's vast, interconnected oceans, its Automatic Stealth Generator tuned to mimic the background bio-luminescence of the deep-sea fauna.

Revan sat in his Sovereign's Command Chair, which was currently reclined at a forty-two-degree "Deep-Sea Audit" angle. He was biologically seventy years old now, though the mirror—and his Force Immortality—still reflected the sharp, unlined face of a man in his early twenties. Calculus was curled into a ball on the dash, his orange fur twitching as he watched the massive Opee sea killers through the viewports. Theorem, the sleek juvenile, was industriously supervising the four kittens—Log, Eni, Para, and Axio—as they practiced stalking shadows in the ship's lounge.

"You see, Chewie," Revan murmured, his voice carrying the weary rasp of a man who knew exactly how the next century would play out. "Naboo is a masterpiece of 'Surface Beauty' hiding a very untidy basement. According to my 2nd Doctorate in Planetary Ecology, the core of this planet is a porous maze of water and power. According to my heart, it's the perfect place to bury a secret that the Gungans won't find and the Sith won't sense. It's statistically magnificent and remarkably wet."

The Sovereign Strategy: The Naboo Abyss

Revan tapped his gauntlet, projecting the holographic roadmap of The Safe House Project. The list was nearing the 70% completion mark.

"Status check, Cortana," Revan noted. "Kuat is secure. Now, we build the Underwater Bunker in the Gungan abyss."

Unlike the 'Purchased' sites on Corellia or Chandrila, the Naboo site was a 'Built' fortress. Revan guided the Black Pearl into a lightless trench miles away from the bioluminescent bubbles of Otoh Gunga.

The 'Built' Safe House Specs (Naboo - Abyssal Bunker):

* Construction: A pressurized dome of Beskar/Phrik/Cortosis alloy, anchored directly into the obsidian bedrock of the trench floor.

* Stealth: A full Stealth Array (Optical and Digital) that absorbed sonar and sensor pings, making the bunker appear as a natural volcanic vent.

* Security: 10x HK-51 units stationed in the airlock and perimeter, their combat sub-routines set to "Absolute Silence." Five hidden laser turrets were embedded in the surrounding coral-rock.

* Power: A 5 Kyber/3 Rakatan power unit, stabilized with Kyber resonance stones, providing enough energy to run the Capital-class deflector/thermal shields for a century.

* Sustainment: An Industrial Fabricator programmed for survival needs, water purifiers, and a high-end atmospheric recycler.

* Armory: A heavy cache of Westar 35s, sniper rifles, slug-throwers, timed explosives, vibroknives, and Thermal Detonators.

"Perfect," Revan grinned, watching the mechanical arms of the ship finalize the pressure-seal. "Adventure is the journey, D6, but the journey is better when you have a secret base at the bottom of the world."

The House of Palpatine: An Audit of Evil

While the droids finalized the bunker, Revan took the Star-Sass to the surface. He wasn't there to sightsee; he was there for a "Personnel Audit." Under the cover of a localized Force Stealth shroud, he infiltrated the sprawling estate of the House of Palpatine in Theed.

He was there to witness the birth of a shadow.

According to his 3rd Doctorate in Sentient Sociology, behavior is the primary metric of intent. Revan watched from the shadows of the estate's private gardens. There, he saw a four-year-old child—Sheev.

The boy wasn't playing. He was conducting a "Kindness Audit" of his own, though his version of kindness was a localized nightmare. Revan witnessed the child systematically tormenting a small, flightless bird with a cold, rhythmic precision that was far beyond his years. There was no joy in the child's face—only a chilling, intellectual satisfaction.

"Rhythmic cruelty," Revan whispered, his 12th Doctor gravity settling over him. "He isn't just a spoiled brat. He's a statistical anomaly of malice. The seed isn't just planted; it's already sprouting thorns."

Avoiding the Sith Gaze: The Plagueis Variable

As Revan observed the child, his Force Precognition began to scream. It wasn't a warning of an attack, but a rhythmic "Surge Detection." He felt the cold, clinical gaze of Darth Plagueis—not directly, but as a lingering echo in the Force. The Sith Master was already watching this boy, nurturing the darkness like a localized experiment.

Revan didn't reach out. He didn't ignite his blades. He utilized Force Barrier and Force Meld with the local flora to mask his own signature, effectively becoming a statistical ghost in the Force.

"Right then," Revan muttered, backing away into the shadows. "Plagueis is gardening. And he's growing a localized apocalypse. If I intervene now, I break the timeline before I can audit the results. Try to be nice, little Sheev. Because according to my heart, your retirement is going to involve a very deep shaft and a lot of lightning."

The Sovereign Assessment: Phase Three Complete

Back on the Black Pearl, Revan sat with Chewbacca and the cats. He held up his datapad, the blue text shimmering in the dim light of the bridge.

"The Naboo Bunker is finished," Revan announced. "Phase Three of the Strategy is complete."

| Planet | Type | Status | Strategy |

|---|---|---|---|

| Kuat | Purchased | 81 BBY | Orbital Hangar; Alias 'Smith'. |

| Naboo | Built | 81 BBY | Underwater Bunker; Hidden. |

| Nar Shaddaa | Built | Pending | Revanite Vault; Sub-basement. |

"Every house is a brick in the wall," Revan explained, the 11th Doctor's manic enthusiasm returning. "We've got the masks for the high-society Galas, and the bunkers for when the Sith decide to stop playing in the garden. Eleven, ensure the Kyber-Quantum computer in the Naboo bunker is synced to the Black Pearl's navigation charts. If we need to disappear, I want to do it at Class 0.5 speeds."

HK-47 whirred, his photoreceptors glowing orange. "Statement: Master, I have noted that the Palpatine meatbag possesses a remarkably high 'Malice Quotient' for such a small unit. Request: May I return to the surface and conduct a 'Final Audit' of his organic integrity?"

"No, HK. We don't touch the variables. We just document the mess," Revan sighed. "Try to be kind to the timeline. It's fragile enough as it is."

The Sovereign's Nap: End of 81 BBY

The year concluded with the Black Pearl hovering in the silent, dark currents of the Naboo abyss. Revan was slumped in his chair, Calculus sleeping on his chest and the juvenile Theorem supervising the kittens near the 'Vintage' spice-latte machine.

"Status, Cortana," Revan whispered.

"Naboo Bunker is 100% operational and invisible to Gungan sonar," Cortana reported. "The data on young Sheev has been encrypted and moved to the Personal Holocron. The 3.75 billion credits are stable, and the Trade Federation is still confused by the Kuat data-leak."

"Brilliant," Revan yawned, the chair reclining to the Calculated Nap Angle of 134.5 degrees. "Adventure is the journey, D6. And 81 BBY was a masterpiece of abyssal real estate and witnessing the birth of a monster. Try to be nice, 80 BBY. I'll see you in the Smuggler's Moon."

He closed his eyes. The Maverick was seventy, but he was building a galaxy-sized safety net—one secret, one bunker, and one cold-eyed child at a time.
