Chapter 147 - Chapter 166: The Senator’s Smile and the Underworld Chase

The transition from the blood-soaked altars of the Bando Gora to the sterile, high-frequency politics of Coruscant was a localized sociological whiplash that Revan Shan met with a freshly pressed academic robe, a carafe of Chandrilan blue-tea, and a very particular brand of 12th-Doctor-esque cynical observation. As 37 BBY etched its name into the galactic archive, the "Prodigal Knight" decided that if the shadow was moving into the light, he would simply have to be the one holding the most blindingly honest lantern.

The Audit of the Lost: Bringing Vosa Home

Revan's return to the Jedi Temple was not a quiet variable. The Black Pearl breached the atmospheric traffic with a rhythmic hum of Beskar-Phrik engines, carrying a cargo that the Council had long ago written off as a statistical loss.

In the High Council chamber, Revan stood before Masters Yoda and Yaddle. He didn't wear the mask today, but the weight of the mission was still present in the sharp lines of his face. Behind him, Komari Vosa stood in a localized Force Stasis field, her eyes vacant but no longer glowing with the yellow heat of the Gora madness.

"Master Shan," Yoda rasped, his eyes auditing the broken woman. "Return, the lost has. But changed, she is. Dark, the path she walked."

"According to my 12th Doctorate in Metaphysical Bio-Logistics, Master Yoda," Revan said, his voice dropping into a weary rasp, "the Dark Side isn't just a choice; it's a rhythmic infection. I found her at the center of a localized tumor on a jungle moon. She was draining the 96% to feed a 1% delusion."

He activated his Gauntlet's Kyber-Quantum display, projecting the horrific records of the Bando Gora rituals.

> "I didn't bring her back with a blade," Revan noted, clicking his Sonic Screwdriver to play the audio log of the encounter. "I brought her back by auditing the logic of her fall. I used the Sonic to short out her sabers and Force Stasis to pause the rhythmic rot in her mind. She's guilty of unspeakable variables, but she's also a symptom of the Council's 'Nice' policy. She needed kindness and a firm wall, and she got neither."

>

Yaddle's eyes softened. "Rehabilitate her, we must. A debt, the Order owes to this variable."

The Political Audit: A Meeting of Shadows and Light

By midday, the "Maverick" was required to attend a senatorial gala—a localized disaster of silk and lies. Revan and Knight Jaro Tapal stood on the balcony of the Senate rotunda, auditing the crowd.

"Jaro," Revan whispered, sassing a passing waiter for a lemon tart. "According to my 3rd Doctorate in Sentient Sociology, 90% of the people in this room are currently lying about their tax brackets. But look there. That's the variable we're looking for."

Senator Sheev Palpatine, now 45 years old and radiating a masterpiece of "Quiet Competence," was engaged in a rhythmic conversation with a diplomatic delegation from Naboo. Beside the delegation stood a small, remarkably poised child—a two-year-old Padmé Amidala.

"Senator Palpatine," Revan chirped, stepping into their orbit with a brilliant, 11th-Doctor-grin. "Master Revan Shan. According to my audit, your recent speech on trade-route security was 15% more eloquent than the statistical average. Tidy work."

Palpatine's eyes narrowed for a micro-second—a localized stutter in his mask—before he offered a serene smile. "Master Shan. The 'Prodigal Knight.' Your reputation for... unconventional auditing precedes you. This is young Padmé, a ward of the Naboo delegation. She has been quite insistent on meeting a Jedi."

The two-year-old Padmé looked up at Revan, her eyes already auditing him with the precision of a future Queen. "Are you the ones in the stories?" she asked, her voice a small, steady chime. "The ones who fix the broken stars? My governess says Jedi are just legends who live in the sky."

Revan knelt, his 12th Doctor eyes softening into a fierce, weary kindness. He pulled his Sonic Screwdriver from his sleeve, making it trill a friendly Cyan melody.

> "Stories are just history that hasn't found its rhythm yet, little one," Revan whispered. "We aren't legends. We're just people who try to be nice and do good. But according to my heart, the most important thing a Jedi does isn't living in the sky; it's making sure people like you have a safe place to stand on the ground. Keep asking questions, Padmé. According to my audit, you're going to be the most important variable in the ledger one day."

>

He winked at her, then stood and gave Palpatine a look that was 100% clinical. "Try to be nice, Senator. I'll be auditing your next committee report."

The Underworld Audit: Rooftop Tag

To bleed off the "Senatorial Sludge," Revan decided the evening required a localized release of kinetic energy. He invited Jaro Tapal and a few adventurous young Masters to the rooftops of Level 1313.

"Right then!" Revan cheered, hopping onto a durasteel ventilation pipe. "According to my 1st Doctorate in Theoretical Physics, gravity is a choice! Today's game is High-Velocity Tag! Jaro is 'It', and the rest of you are 'Variables'!"

The chase through the neon-drenched Underworld was a masterpiece of Form II and Form IV integration. Revan moved like a rhythmic ghost, leaping over fifty-meter gaps and utilizing Force Enhance to run vertically up the side of a processing plant.

"Watch the footwork, Jaro!" Revan yelled, backflipping over a hovering speeder. "This is the core of Form II Makashi—precise weight distribution! Combine it with the kinetic aggression of Form IV Ataru! If you can't audit your own center of gravity, you can't audit the enemy's blade!"

Jaro, a wall of purple fur and Beskar armor, was surprisingly light on his feet, his massive leaps shaking the rooftops as he chased his Master through the static. It was 100% untidy, remarkably loud, and the most fun the Temple had seen in decades.

The Sovereign's Nap: End of 37 BBY

The year concluded with Revan slumped in his Sovereign's Command Chair in the Jedi Archives. Calculus was asleep on his lap, and Theorem was curled around his feet. Across from him, Grandmaster Yoda was dozing in his own chair, a lemon drop still tucked in his cheek.

"Status, Cortana," Revan whispered into the salty air.

"The Maverick Trust is stable at 16.1 Billion Credits," Cortana reported. "Komari Vosa has begun her first stage of rhythmic rehabilitation. Padmé Amidala has requested a book on 'Galactic Logistics'. And Master... Sheev Palpatine has been seen auditing the Archives for records on the 'Old Republic Crusaders'. He is 45 years old."

"Let him look," Revan yawned, the chair reclining to the Calculated Nap Angle of 134.5 degrees. "Adventure is the journey, D6. And 37 BBY was a masterpiece of baby queens and rooftop tag. Try to be nice, 36 BBY. I have a feeling the audit is about to get remarkably complex."

He closed his eyes. The Maverick was 109, the ledger was balanced in secret, and the Auditor was dreaming of a galaxy where the light finally learned how to dance in the dark.
