Chapter 1 - Urban cultivation;ch 1 the garbage tier king of luck

The last thing Xiao Fan remembered was tripping over a loose charging cable while trying to grab a limited-edition energy drink. Now, he was standing in the middle of a crowded plaza, staring at a giant floating holographic screen that displayed his "Soul Stats."

Name: Xiao Fan

Aptitude: 1-Star (Low)

Cultivation: Mortal (0-Star)

Status: Unemployed, Family-less, Trash-tier.

"Bro, seriously?" Xiao Fan muttered, scratching his head. He looked around. Tall skyscrapers pierced the clouds, but instead of planes, he saw people flying on glowing swords and mechanical wings. "I get reincarnated into a world of immortals and gods, and I'm basically the human equivalent of a dial-up modem?"

He checked his pockets. Empty. No parents to leave him a mansion, no secret inheritance. He was a 1-star talent student at Blue Mist Academy—a school famous for being a dumping ground for people who couldn't even light a candle with their Qi.

Suddenly, a cold, mechanical voice echoed in his brain.

[Ding! Luck-Maxing System Initializing...] [Binding Host: Xiao Fan] [Current Luck Stat: ∞ (Infinite)] [Passive Ability: 'Fortune's Shield' — Any intent to harm the Host will result in a Backfire Event for the aggressor.] Xiao Fan blinked. "Luck? Infinite? System, you're joking, right? I just died because of a charging cable. My luck is literally underground."

[Warning: Host's talent is too low to handle the System's power. Physical growth will be gradual. Please survive.]

The First Test

As Xiao Fan wandered toward the academy, he accidentally bumped into a tall, muscular student wearing a Black Iron 3-Star badge. This was Li Wei, the local bully who enjoyed practicing his "Iron Palm" technique on 1-star students.

"Hey, trash! You blinded?" Li Wei growled, cracking his knuckles. "You just ruined my focus. Give me your merit points, or I'll break your ribs."

Xiao Fan's heart hammered. He wasn't invincible yet; he felt weak as a kitten. "Look, bro, I've got zero points. How about I just walk away and we pretend this never happened?"

"Not a chance!" Li Wei roared. He lunged forward, his palm glowing with a faint metallic light. He was going for a full-force strike to Xiao Fan's chest.

Xiao Fan closed his eyes, bracing for the pain. I'm going to die twice in one day, he thought.

CRACK.

A sickening sound echoed, but Xiao Fan felt nothing. He opened one eye.

Li Wei wasn't hitting him. In his rush to attack, Li Wei had slipped on a small, discarded banana peel. His foot slid out, his body twisted at an impossible angle, and his "Iron Palm" slammed directly into a nearby reinforced steel lamp post.

The lamp post didn't break. Li Wei's wrist did.

"AHHH! MY HAND!" Li Wei screamed, collapsing to the ground. As he fell, a small jade bottle popped out of his pocket and rolled perfectly to Xiao Fan's feet.

The "Slow" Realization

Xiao Fan stared at the screaming bully, then at the banana peel, then at the bottle.

"Did that... just happen?"

He picked up the bottle.

[Item Found: Low-Grade Marrow Washing Essence] > [Effect: Slightly increases 1-Star Talent toward 1-Star Middle.]

Xiao Fan's eyes widened. This was worth thousands of dollars! To a 1-star student, this was a life-changing treasure.

"Wait a minute," Xiao Fan whispered, a grin spreading across his face. "He tried to hit me, he broke his own hand, and then he paid me for the privilege?"

He looked up at the sky. A bird flew over and, at that exact moment, dropped a small, shiny gold coin. It landed right in Xiao Fan's open palm.

"Okay," Xiao Fan laughed, his comedic tone returning as he realized he was the most dangerous man in the world—simply by existing. "I might be the weakest guy in school, but apparently, the universe is my bodyguard. Life is going to be fun."

He didn't rush to become a God. He took his time, pocketed the jade bottle, and headed toward his dorm, whistling a tune while three more people accidentally tripped and fell just by looking at him the wrong way.
