Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Rin's Death! Obito Falls into Hell

[In the footage, Uchiha Obito is sprinting toward the location of the incident.

On the way, he asks another White Humanoid Creature that has been following him:

"Where is Konoha's Yellow Flash? What is he doing?"

The White Humanoid Creature replies:

"He seems to be on another mission."

"Of all times, it had to be now..."

Uchiha Obito's expression turns grim, and his gaze becomes somewhat cold.]

Minato Namikaze takes in Uchiha Obito's expression and can't help but sigh in his heart.

He can understand Uchiha Obito's state of mind at this moment.

But this was clearly a trap set by Uchiha Madara.

The fact that he was tied down by Hidden Mist Ninjas at the time was obviously also Uchiha Madara's arrangement.

It was all to throw Uchiha Obito's mind into chaos.

[Uchiha Obito continues to accelerate; he can feel it.

Rin and Kakashi are not far ahead.

Even within his Sharingan, he vaguely links up with Kakashi's Sharingan.

He sees the scene as it unfolds.

Finally arriving, Uchiha Obito lifts his head in excitement.

But what he sees is Kakashi's Chidori piercing through Rin's chest.

His most trusted brother, killing the person he loved most with his own hands, right before his eyes.

Uchiha Obito originally had many things he wanted to say to Rin and to Kakashi.

But at this moment, he cannot utter a single word.]

"Obito..."

As the painful images from his memory reappear before him, Kakashi Hatake's eyes redden.

He has woken up from many midnight dreams, struggling between the dreamscape and reality.

He regrets killing Rin and is distraught over his inability to fulfill the promise he made to his best friend.

But such is the life of a Ninja; at that time, he had no choice.

["What happened, Kakashi?"

"I personally entrusted Rin to you, and you promised me you would take good care of her!"

Uchiha Obito lowers his head and mutters to himself, his entire being devoid of life.

Uchiha Obito's pupils contract, and even the Tomoe of his Sharingan distort from grief.

He cannot understand this; he cannot understand anything before him.

The armor formed by the White Humanoid Creature shifts, turning into a spiral-shaped mask that conceals Uchiha Obito's face.

He lets out a long, painful howl toward the sky:

"What kind of place is this? I refuse to accept that this is the world I live in!"

His Mangekyo awakens, Wood Release erupts from his body, and his immense power shatters the ground!]

"What kind of Sharingan is this? And that... it's actually Wood Release!"

Seeing the power Uchiha Obito uses in the footage, Minato Namikaze cries out in shock.

Is this Uchiha Madara's handiwork?

That guy actually managed to give Uchiha Obito the power of Wood Release?

[The footage continues; Uchiha Obito charges straight at the enemies, and all attacks pass through his body.

"Wood Release: Cutting Technique!"

With Wood Release used effortlessly, he ruthlessly slaughters the Hidden Mist Ninjas like crushing ants.

"Everything really is fake!"

Uchiha Obito mutters to himself, the light gone from his eyes, replaced only by dead silence.

A Hidden Mist Ninja tries to snatch Rin away, and Uchiha Obito immediately rushes forward and hammers him into a pulp.

All the enemies are terrified by this bloody scene, but it is far from enough to vent the pain in his heart.

"What are you afraid of? Where is that predatory look you had just now?"

Uchiha Obito's body twitches slightly as he utilizes a Ninjutsu:

"Wood Release: Advent of a World of Flowering Trees!"

Everything goes quiet, and amidst the crimson rain of blood, Uchiha Obito whispers to himself:

"Ah, I see. I am in... hell."

He steps over Kakashi's body and picks up Rin.

Uchiha Madara's words echo in his mind:

"In a dream, everything can be as you wish; even reviving the dead is possible."

"Rin, I will create a world where you exist. As for this world, let it turn to ash!"

Uchiha Obito returns to Uchiha Madara's side and asks coldly:

"Tell me how to create that world in a dream."

A triumphant smile finally appears on Uchiha Madara's withered face:

"Ah, that method is called the 'eye of the moon plan.'"]

The footage pauses, and Ye Chen's voice rings out:

"This is the reason Uchiha Obito launched the 'Nine-Tails Attack.' Are you satisfied?"

Minato Namikaze and the other two look at each other, all trying their best to digest the information they just received.

Uchiha Madara wasn't killed by the First Hokage Senju Hashirama; he survived and had been plotting all along.

Uchiha Obito didn't die in the Battle of Kannabi Bridge; instead, he was saved by Uchiha Madara and fell into a conspiracy.

He awakened Wood Release, and his Sharingan evolved; he seemed to have become something extraordinary.

"Sir, what exactly does the 'eye of the moon plan' mean?"

Kakashi Hatake asks aloud.

He vaguely understands that the 'eye of the moon plan' is related to Uchiha Obito wanting to revive Rin.

But he still hasn't figured out what specifically needs to be done.

Ye Chen says helplessly:

"No comment. This involves many secrets; it's not yet time to tell you."

This system is really annoying!

It could clearly reveal everything, but it insists on being vague and withholding key information.

"Shikaku, what do you think? What exactly is this 'eye of the moon plan' supposed to do?"

Minato Namikaze asks; he feels his chief strategist must have his own views.

Nara Shikaku nods:

"I only have some conjectures right now, but since you're asking, Minato, I'll share them."

He clears his throat and speaks while thinking:

"Obviously, this 'eye of the moon plan' is Uchiha Madara's idea, and Obito was just forced to accept it."

"Literally speaking, 'Eye of the Moon' must be related to the moon."

"And 'being able to do as one wishes in a dream world,' even to the point of reviving the dead..."

"It sounds like Genjutsu, or some mysterious Ninjutsu or Barrier."

At this point, Nara Shikaku seems to have discovered something; his expression shakes as he exclaims:

"Could it be using the moon to amplify the Uchiha Sharingan's Genjutsu to create a 'world within a dream'?"

Holy crap, give you an inch and you'll take a mile, won't you?

Ye Chen is full of praise for Nara Shikaku's reasoning.

To be able to deduce the general idea from just these few clues—it's very close to the actual answer.

Truly worthy of being the second-smartest in the Nara Clan and the Hokage's chief strategist.

Seeing that Ye Chen doesn't refute it but instead looks at Nara Shikaku with an appreciative expression,

Minato Namikaze knows that Nara Shikaku's deduction is close to the truth.

He admiringly pats Nara Shikaku on the shoulder and smiles:

"Impressive. Truly worthy of you, Shikaku."

At the same time, his heart is greatly shaken by the facts Nara Shikaku deduced.

Using the moon to power Genjutsu and create a 'dream world.'

What a grand scale; truly worthy of the asura of the ninja world, Uchiha Madara.

The scope of it is truly breathtaking.
