Chapter 2 - Part II.

" You... "

...

....

.....

Like a ghost, she was here. She looked like her, but, it can't be.

She's gone.

A memory of a long forgotten past, or so I'd like to say.

So...

' Who are you exactly? '

" It's me, Celia! your best friend for life, manager, and professional wingman! "

' Ma'am, I'm not friends with scammers. '

" You're funny when you aren't trying. Anyway, what's up with the ' when will it be my turn roleplay? ' "

' It's nothing; you wouldn't understand the pain of being rejected 27 times within less than a year. How would you ever!? '

" Jeez, you're overreacting. I've been just as single as you've been. The only difference is that I'm the one doing the rejecting. "

' Right, we're both good-looking, so how is it that I'm the one who has absolutely no one confessing to me? '

" I won't deny that you look good, but you're pretty gloomy. Y'know that? "

That's the first nice thing she's said, like, in forever. What best friends are for, huh?

' What's the deal with you anyway? How'd you know I was here? '

" You thought I wouldn't know? People talk a lot, the word spreads pretty quickly. It's nice having connections, something you clearly avoid... "

' Are you here to make fun of me or make me feel bad? Clearly you're doing a good job at both. '

Well, ignoring her for now, let me tell you all a quick backstory on my friend here. She's a bitch, that's all. A person who's always there for me when I'm at my worst.

Someone who always knows what to say when I'm struggling to find the words to say. Celia, the third most important girl in my life.

The first has always been my mother. The second, I hope she's doing well wherever she may be.

" You thinking about her? "

' Yeah, thanks for reading my mind. I miss her. I really do. '

" Well, don't you miss me? From what you say, I'm pretty much exactly like her, right? "

' What's there to miss when you're right there? Besides, we're best friends; there's no way I'd miss you when you're always in my heart? '

" Er... When you put it that way, it's like you're telling me memories are enough to replace me when I'm gone... "

' That's not true. But they're all I have; you're all I have. That counts, no? '

" ...Stupid. "

Anyway, like she mentioned, she's the spitting image of her.

They act the same too.

My first love.

The one I'd never forget.

The one I made an oath to never replace, no matter how long.

Clearly, I haven't broken that rule.

Now, before you tell me otherwise, that I've been trying to date other people, let me explain. I'm only human after all, don't put the blame on me.

Even I would get tempted if every lady around me was so beautiful.

Also, it's been 10 years when I last saw her. I was around... 15 years old? She disappeared a few days after I was sent to the hospital for a head injury.

Never saw her ever since. It was around the time that Celia came along, who was almost exactly like her, but I knew they were different, even if did seem like she was the same person hiding her identity.

She wasn't her.

We got along pretty well.

Watched movies, ate breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even went to a few carnivals here and there. And yet, we're just friends. I can't bring myself to move on.

So, I'm sure she'll find someone who can do these things with her and make her happy.

' ...I better get going; who knows, maybe I'll find her around the streets. Cya— '

Solid contact.

A sharp pain comes across my cheek as I turn to see Celia's hand shaking, as tears run down her cheeks.
