Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 Heavy Casualties

With the arrival of humans, the war between the two sides intensified. The corpses of humans and dragons littered the ground, rivers of blood flowed, and explosive magic cracked the ground, creating abyss-like fissures that stretched as far as the eye could see.

In just two days, both sides suffered heavy casualties, with more than 300 dragon corpses and 60,000 human deaths.

Even the aftershocks of the battle could kill a large number of people; human life was as worthless as grass. If it weren't for the benevolent dragon leading the human race, the death toll would have been several times higher.

As the evil dragons gathered in greater numbers, the pressure on both the human and benevolent dragon factions increased. Even the Fire Dragon King Igniru was seriously injured and forced to withdraw from the battle, unable to continue fighting.

However, after fighting for two days and two nights, both dragons began to tire and unanimously chose to retreat and rest.

"Damn it, all my family members are dead. I'm such a useless piece of trash. I can't even learn dragon-slaying magic. I don't even have the right to avenge them."

A young mage's eyes were red; his teacher and family had all died in battle, having been killed by a mere breath.

He had never hated the dragon as much as he did today, nor his own powerlessness!

The person next to him sighed, "Don't be sad. We may not even live to see the end of the war. Thirty-two of the good dragons have already died, and the human race has lost more than one hundred thousand people. The pressure will be even greater next time we fight."

The dragon faction also suffered heavy casualties, roughly estimated at fifty, mostly low-level dragons. Without human assistance, they might not even be able to get up and would die instantly.

The Fire Dragon King Igneel, covered in wounds, sat on the ground recovering. Beside him were the four dragons of Grandine, and his friend, the Hellfire Dragon Atlasfrem.

"Igneru, I never thought you'd get beaten up like this, it's awful!" Grandini lay sprawled on the ground, looking utterly defeated.

"The Red Dragon King Osta is very strong, even stronger than me. I'm afraid only my teacher can outclass him."

Fire Dragon King Igniru touched the wound on his abdomen, a hint of lingering fear in his eyes.

He was previously pierced by a claw from the Red Dragon King Osta. If the human army hadn't arrived in time and a space mage hadn't saved him, he probably would have died on the spot.

"Only you and I remain as the Dragon King of the Benevolent Dragon faction. Can we win?"

Water Dragon King Tasia strode over, her enormous feet causing the ground to tremble with each step. She lay down on the ground, her expression showing exhaustion.

Although she did not encounter the Dragon King, she was surrounded and attacked by ordinary dragons. If her own defense had not been strong enough, she would probably have ended up like the Heavenly Dragon King.

The Fire Dragon King Igneel lowered his head and remained silent. In truth, he knew without a doubt that the chances of losing this war were greater.

Although there was a constant stream of aid from human mages, the evil dragons also had over ten thousand reinforcements, including at least twenty dragon kings.

Iron Dragon Medalicana picked up a large iron block, took a bite, and said, "Humans actually have magic to create iron blocks, how convenient!"

White Dragon Perslokia agreed, "And there's healing magic. It can even reattach my broken arm, something Grandini can't do."

It's important to know that dragons have extremely high resistance to magic, so being able to heal dragons is truly remarkable.

Grandini said weakly, "Hey, I'm a Celestial Dragon, healing isn't my main ability."

She possesses ancient lost magic, which has its own strengths compared to the healing magic of the new era. She is definitely not weak; she has healed many dragons, you know.

Shadow Dragon Shkiadora prefers to ambush others, hiding in the shadows, making him the most relaxed of all the dragons present.

However, this means that the Shadow Dragon on the evil dragon's side has not yet arrived. Once the Shadow Dragon arrives, his good days will be over.

There is probably no place for him in the shadows anymore.

He sighed and said, "If only Professor Acnologia were here. With his infamous reputation, just his presence would make many dragons wary."

Just then, a terrifying magical force rushed in from the distant sky, filled with violence and ominousness.

"Who goes there!"

Everyone looked up abruptly, their expressions changing drastically. What an exaggerated magic this was, that even the sky seemed to change color.

"Teacher Acnologia!"

The five dragons, including the Fire Dragon King Igniru, showed delight. After nearly a month of getting to know each other, they had all gained a deep understanding of this ominous magic.

Atlas Freym, the Flame Dragon, exclaimed in surprise, "You call him teacher?"

He had heard of that monster's infamous reputation; he didn't seem like a good person. So why did Igneel and the others seem so happy?

Fire Dragon King Igneel paused for a moment, then casually said, "Don't worry about it, it's just a habit. Teacher Acnologia isn't as fierce as you think; he's actually very gentle."

They didn't really understand the meaning of the word "teacher," but Acnologia said that a teacher is someone who imparts knowledge, teaches skills, and resolves doubts; it's a respectful title, and he liked it very much, so that's how they called him.

In fact, all told, Acnologia had only taught them for half a month, which was not a long time, and they had forgotten most of what he had taught them.

gentle?

Atlas Freym, the Flame Dragon, seemed to be deep in thought, then looked up and asked in confusion, "It seems he's gone?"

The terrifying dragon in the sky showed no sign of stopping, sweeping across their position and heading straight for the dragon's camp.

Is it impossible to stop the car?

Fire Dragon King Igniru and the other five dragons were dumbfounded. What was their teacher doing? Had he gone mad?

They quickly spread their wings and took to the sky. Then they saw Acnologia unleash a devastating roar that sent ten dragons flying, half of them dying instantly.

He then charged into the dragon horde, tearing half of a blue dragon's body apart with a claw and crushing the head of a giant dragon with a stomp. No dragon survived his passage.

Atlas Freym, the Flame Dragon, watched as the monstrous dragon laughed maniacally, tearing apart the wings of evil dragons, even kicking the Red Dragon King Osta to the ground, forcing him to scramble away.

This horrific scene left the entire dragon family dumbfounded.

He couldn't help but look at the Fire Dragon King Igneel, his wide eyes seeming to say, "Is this what you call gentleness?"

You must be kidding me!

The Fire Dragon King Igneel was also shocked, but he remained calm on the surface: "Excuse me, let me add that he is only gentle to benevolent dragons."

Seeing that the Flame Dragon Atlas Flame might say something, he hurriedly said, "Stop talking! Teacher's gone berserk! Let's hurry up and join the fray! Dragons that can still fight, come with me!"

Having said that, he led the Grandini Five Dragons to charge forward.

The other benevolent dragons also took action, quickly following after them.

Knowing that an extremely powerful dragon king had arrived on their side, the Water Dragon King Tasia was immediately invigorated: "Human warriors, prepare to attack!"

"Lord Acnologia has arrived! Warriors, follow me and fight!"

"kill!"

Except for a few disabled and unconscious soldiers, everyone stood up. The opportunity to counterattack had arrived!

Acnologia's ferocious reputation serves as a great deterrent to the enemy dragon, but for its own side, it represents immense hope and the foundation for victory.

As long as he hasn't fallen, the war isn't necessarily lost!
