Chapter 8 - Chapter 9: The Camera That Sees Everything

Mumin sits staring at the broken pieces of his phone.

The camera is still in his hand. A tiny device. One that has been watching him the entire time. His crying, his prayers, his conversations with Musa-everything.

But how did this device get into his room?

Mumin stands up. Carefully searches the entire room. To see if there is anything else. No. Just this one.

He looks toward the door. Other people live in the house too. His father, mother, and younger brother Masud.

Masud is 15 years old. Mumin doesn't talk to him much. Masud is busy in his own world. Mobile, games, friends. No time to look at Mumin.

Father goes to the office. Mother is a homemaker. Do they know? Or are they involved too?

A storm of suspicion rises in Mumin's head. He knows-it's his overthinking. But he cannot stop it.

Musa whispers, "Ask them. See how they lie."

Mumin leaves the room. In the living room, Masud is sitting with his phone.

Mumin stands in front of him. Masud looks up from his phone and says, "What happened?"

Mumin shows the camera. "Do you recognize this?"

Masud looks at it. Surprised. "What is this? Why is it so small?"

Mumin stares into his eyes. No sign of lying. Masud truly doesn't know.

Mumin says nothing and walks away.

In the kitchen, his mother is cooking. Mumin stands there. Mother says, "What is it? Did the adhan call? Did you pray Maghrib?"

Mumin shows the camera. "Ma, this was in my room. Someone installed it."

Mother takes it and looks. Frowns. "What is this again? Are you sure this is a camera?"

Mumin nods. Mother says, "I didn't give this. I didn't see your father give anything either. Are you sure?"

Mumin stays silent. She doesn't know either.

He waits for his father. When he arrives, he asks the same question. Father is tired. Just returned from office. He looks at the camera, doesn't understand much. Says, "Are you sure this is a camera? Maybe some electronic thing was lying around?"

Mumin understands-they don't know. They are innocent.

Then how did this camera get here?

After dinner, Mumin returns to his room. Sits on the bed. Thinks.

Imolodia. How did they install this camera? No one came to the house. Through the window? But this is the third floor.

He opens the laptop. Searches for more information about Imolodia. This time he goes deeper. Hacks their secret documents.

What he finds makes his eyes freeze.

Imolodia National Defense Project-Codename: "The Last Sun."

The objective of this project-to create a weapon capable of destroying all life on Earth. A special type of wave. If deployed, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions-everything will begin simultaneously. The Earth will become ruins.

They want to become the only superpower in the world. Force all other countries into submission through fear of this weapon.

Mumin's hands tremble. He has discovered a world-destroying weapon.

And they want him. They want Musa.

But why?

He reads further-

Project Musa: Analysis of the target's brainwaves shows that his second personality (Musa) is capable of generating extremely stable and controlled rage. This rage-wave can strengthen our "Last Sun" weapon. We want full control of the target. We want Musa on our side.

Mumin closes the laptop.

He understands-they want to use him. They want to use Musa to destroy the entire world.

Musa begins laughing loudly. "Did you hear that? I'm that big? I can destroy the world?"

Mumin shouts, "Shut up! You are part of me! You are nothing!"

Musa doesn't stop. Instead laughs louder. "I'm part of you? Then why do they want me? Not you-me! Because I am powerful. I am fearless. I am ready to do anything."

Mumin presses his hands over his ears. But Musa's voice does not stop.

Suddenly tears fill his eyes. He remembers Zara.

Zara-the one who believed in him. The one who understood him. But he himself ruined the relationship with his overthinking.

He thought-maybe Zara was lying to him. Maybe she loved someone else. Maybe she was deceiving him. These thoughts drove him mad. One day he said some harsh words to her. Zara went silent. After that, they never spoke again.

Mumin picks up his phone-the broken phone. It doesn't work.

He wants to see Zara's picture. He cannot.

Musa says, "She left. Because of your overthinking. You lost her yourself. Now only I remain."

Mumin sits on the floor. Cries. Whispers, "Zara... I am sorry."

In the corner of the room, another hidden camera-one he still hasn't found-watches this scene. Imolodia's agents are watching Mumin's tears. Recording his weakness.

The phone is broken, but a message appears on the laptop-

"We see your tears. We see your weakness. We know everything. Musa will be ours. You are only waiting for time."

Mumin closes the laptop. Shuts his eyes.

Maghrib adhan has ended. Night is falling.

Today has ended. But tomorrow another day will come.

And Imolodia will wait. For Musa. For the destruction of the world.

Mumin goes into sujood. Crying, he says-

"Rabbana Allah, 'alayhi tawakkalna wa ilayhi anabna." (Our Lord is Allah; upon Him we rely, and to Him we return.)

Darkness fills the room. The marks on the wall remain silent witnesses.

Musa is silent.

And Mumin waits-for Allah's help.
