Chapter 17 – The Invitation

Jiang Cheng gave a casual nod. "Yeah, quite the coincidence. I just got to the capital and figured I'd pick up a run-around car first."

"You call this 'casual'? A ferrari laferrari for a run-around—talk about Versailles." Wang Zheng sounded sour.

The Male Manager, hearing that Wang Zheng knew Jiang Cheng, asked with a smile, "A friend of Mr. Wang?"

Wang Zheng perked up, tiptoed, and slapped Jiang Cheng's shoulder. "Met him only yesterday—Brother Jiang Cheng. Look at that Richard Mille MR056 on his wrist; he bought it for ¥18 million at the Luxury Hotel auction. Qin Fen wanted it too, but this Tycoon snatched it away."

Everyone nearby drew a sharp breath.

This… Jiang Cheng is loaded?!!

And he barely looks over twenty.

The manager's eyes lit up; his expression turned instantly respectful and humble.

Anyone who can drop ten million plus on a watch can certainly handle a ¥50-million laferrari.

He immediately bowed, extending his right hand warmly. "Good afternoon, Mr. Jiang. I've just heard the details from Xiao Yun. Thank you for choosing Ferrari."

"I hear you have to verify funds to buy a Ferrari?" Jiang Cheng asked.

The manager waved it off. "Normally yes—it's standard procedure, nothing personal, please understand. But Mr. Wang says you can swing ten million for a watch, so the laferrari's no problem. Usually you'd order one, yet Mr. Wang recently commissioned a laferrari and now wants us to resell the slot, so we can transfer it to you."

Jiang Cheng glanced at Wang Zheng.

Judging by the manager's attitude, Wang Zheng wasn't simple either.

After all, a normal laferrari purchase requires prerequisites: Wang must own at least five Ferraris registered to him.

Jiang Cheng looked at him curiously. "You don't want your bespoke laferrari anymore?"

Wang Zheng laughed heartily. "Old Qin provoked me, so I impulsively ordered it. Qin Fen—he was with me yesterday—has a laferrari that looks wicked cool. But the custom build drags on; months passed and it's still not ready, so my enthusiasm wore off. I figured I'd try to resell the slot; if no one bit, so be it. Then you showed up."

Jiang Cheng nodded. "So when can I collect the car?"

Hearing that, the manager replied at once, "Young Master Jiang, roughly two months. A normal custom order takes at least six, but if you take over Mr. Wang's slot, you can have it in two."

After chatting a while longer, they sealed the deal.

Jiang Cheng's main goal was to trigger his Super-Car Crit Card; buying any random super-car wouldn't reach this price.

So he finally decided to purchase Wang Zheng's bespoke super-car.

Seeing Jiang Cheng really taking over, Wang Zheng beamed. "Thanks, bro. Honestly, finding a buyer isn't easy. Sure, the car's gorgeous, but the price is insane—just the interior custom work cost me over twenty million. That figure alone scares most people off…"

Jiang Cheng understood what he meant.

With that money, why not buy property? Dropping twenty million on an interior is hard for most to swallow.

"The color and trim you picked happen to fit my taste—call it fate."

Wang Zheng's eyes lit up; he gave Jiang Cheng a thumbs-up. "Good eye. Let's have Old Wang handle the paperwork."

When the two stopped chatting, the manager respectfully produced Wang Zheng's original order documents and contacted the notary office to process the formalities.

After the transfer, notarization, and signatures, the bespoke laferrari fully belonged to Jiang Cheng.

The manager then led the entire staff to say, "Dear Mr. Jiang, from today forward you are our esteemed Ferrari owner. We'll upload your details to Ferrari HQ; should there be events or new releases, we'll notify you immediately."

Wang Zheng grinned. "Buddy, you can't collect the car yet. I've a few spares; if you don't mind, you can borrow one."

Jiang Cheng shot him a surprised look—only their second meeting and Wang Zheng was offering to lend a car?

After all, wife and car are famously never lent out.

Wang Zheng read Jiang Cheng's expression.

"Truth is, you solved a huge headache for me, so I'm grateful. If you don't mind, let's be friends and hang out in the capital?"

Wang Zheng's words raised Jiang Cheng's opinion of him—he liked straightforward people who didn't beat around the bush.

"Sure, I'll be in town for a while. As for the car, no need—I'll just pick up something in stock."

When Jiang Cheng declined, Wang Zheng didn't push. "There's a car expo on the Bund these days—Ferrari, Lamborghini, porsche, mclaren, you name it—and you can drive your pick home. Want to swing by?"

Seeing Wang Zheng take the initiative, Jiang Cheng nodded casually.

"Sure, when?"
