(MMA Arena)
The crowd roared as the lights in the arena dimmed, and the announcer's voice echoed through the stadium.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to tonight's main event! In the red corner, we have the challenger, standing 6 feet tall, weighing 185 pounds, Baek! And in the blue corner, the defending champion, 190 pounds, standing at 6 feet 2 inches, known as 'The Beast' – Derek!"
Baek walked to the center of the cage, his face calm but focused. The cage door slammed shut, and the referee gave the signal.
"Fight!"
The bell rang, and both fighters moved quickly to the middle of the cage. Derek threw a fast punch, aiming for Baek's head. Baek stepped back just in time, dodging the blow. He circled around, keeping his distance.
"Derek starts off strong with a big right hook, but Baek moves out of the way!" the announcer called out.
Baek threw a quick jab, landing it cleanly on Derek's jaw. The crowd cheered. Derek looked angry and rushed in, trying to take Baek down. Baek stayed calm, using his footwork to avoid the attack.
"Baek with a solid punch! He's keeping his cool, moving fast!"
Derek managed to grab Baek's leg, trying to bring him to the ground. But Baek countered, hitting Derek with an elbow to the side of the head. Derek stumbled, but didn't fall.
"Great defense from Baek! That elbow rocked Derek!"
Now, Baek saw his chance. He moved in with a series of punches, left and right. Derek raised his arms to block, but Baek was too fast. One punch broke through Derek's guard and hit him hard in the nose. Blood started dripping.
"Baek is on fire! He's landing those punches, and Derek is in trouble!"
Derek tried to fight back with wild swings, but Baek ducked under them. Then, Baek moved in close, grabbed Derek's waist, and threw him down to the mat. The crowd went wild!
"Baek with the takedown! What a move!"
On the ground, Baek quickly took control, getting on top of Derek. He threw down a few more punches, hitting Derek's face. The referee moved closer, watching carefully.
"Derek is in danger! Baek is dominating on the ground!"
Baek wrapped his arms around Derek's neck, locking in a chokehold. Derek struggled, but Baek held tight. The crowd stood up, shouting and cheering.
"He's going for the choke! This could be the end!"
Derek's face turned red as he tried to escape, but it was no use. After a few seconds, Derek tapped the mat, signaling that he had given up.
"It's over! Baek wins by submission!"
The referee stepped in, pulling Baek off Derek. Baek stood up, raising his arms in victory as the crowd chanted his name. The announcer's voice boomed over the cheers.
"Your winner, by submission – Baek!"
Baek smiled, looking around at the roaring crowd. He had trained hard for this moment, and now, he was the champion.
The crowd cheered, but suddenly, the screen went black. The sound stopped, leaving the room in silence.
"I told you, Dad. Stop watching your old videos. It will just make you more sad," a woman said softly, her voice gentle but firm.
She had short black hair and wore a simple dress. She walked over to the bed where an old man lay. His eyes were fixed on the now-blank TV, his body weak and frail. His hands, once strong, rested on the blanket.
The woman tucked his blanket carefully around him, making sure he was comfortable. She looked at him, her expression a mix of love and sadness.
The old man tried to speak, his lips moving, but no sound came out. His throat was dry, his voice lost over time. The woman, his daughter, noticed this and quickly took his hand in hers, giving it a gentle squeeze. She sat beside him, close enough for him to feel her warmth.
"I know, Dad," she whispered, her voice almost breaking. "I know you miss it. I miss it too. But watching those fights... it's not good for you anymore."
The old man's eyes softened, showing he understood. His gaze drifted to his daughter, and a small tear formed at the corner of his eye. He had been a champion once, a fighter who never backed down. Now, he couldn't even speak.
The daughter brushed a tear from her cheek and smiled softly at him.
"You're still a fighter, Dad. Just in a different way now."
She looked at the TV remote, lying on the table, then back at her father. "You don't need those videos to remember who you are. I remember, and I'll always be here for you."
The old man's eyes slowly closed, his breathing becoming soft and steady. His daughter watched him for a moment, making sure he was asleep. She gently let go of his hand and stood up, quietly walking out of the room. As she closed the door behind her, she let out a deep sigh, her shoulders heavy with worry.
She leaned against the wall, staring at the floor, trying to hold back her tears. It was hard watching her father like this once so strong, now so weak.
Just then, she heard footsteps approaching. She looked up to see her husband walking toward her, carrying their two children in his arms. The twins, a boy and a girl, both had bright blond hair and big blue eyes. They looked just like their mother.
"Hey," he said softly, his face filled with concern. He set the children down, and they ran to their mother, hugging her legs.
"Mommy!" the little girl said, her voice cheerful. "We were playing!"
Her mother smiled weakly and bent down to kiss the top of her head. The boy, quieter, looked up at his mom with wide eyes, sensing something was wrong but not understanding what.
The man gently put his arm around his wife's shoulders, pulling her close. "How's your dad?" he asked, his voice quiet and careful.
She sighed again, shaking her head. "He's... he's not going to be here much longer," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I can feel it."
The man's face tightened with worry. He pulled her closer, letting her lean on him. "I'm so sorry," he said softly, stroking her back. "I know how hard this is for you."
She nodded, wiping away a tear. "I just... I don't know how to say goodbye," she said, her voice breaking.
The man hugged her tighter, offering what little comfort he could. The twins, not fully understanding the sadness around them, stayed close to their parents, holding onto their mother's legs as she tried to stay strong.
