Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: Thanks to Miss Bulstrode for the Assist

"Millicent Bulstrode, you dare stand in my way?"

Alexandra's voice was bone-chillingly cold, as if it could freeze the surrounding air.

Her sharp eyes were locked onto Bulstrode, emitting a terrifying aura.

Millicent Bulstrode met Alexandra's gaze without fear, a sneer appearing at the corner of her mouth: "Malfoy, others might fear you, but I won't! Our Bulstrode family is also one of the sacred twenty-eight; I have no reason to follow your orders!"

With that, Bulstrode straightened her body, showing off her figure which was much taller and sturdier than Alexandra's.

"I'm blocking your way to tell you not to be so self-righteous. Don't think that just because you've entered Hogwarts, you're the Slytherin first-year leader; everything is determined by strength. Let's wait and see—"

Before Alexandra could respond, Pansy, standing to the side, suddenly let out a contemptuous sneer.

She mocked, "Bulstrode, do you really think that picking up two pieces of trash discarded by Alexandra and keeping them by your side makes you invincible? Hahaha, you brainless Trolls who were abandoned actually have the gall to clamor in front of Alexandra. It's truly the height of absurdity!"

As Pansy spoke, she glanced disdainfully at Bulstrode and the two behind her, Crabbe and Goyle. Bulstrode's face turned extremely ugly, and Crabbe and Goyle behind her were even more furious.

They glared fiercely at Pansy, their fists cracking as they clenched them, seemingly ready at any moment to teach this arrogant woman a lesson.

Goyle and Crabbe were originally the type to follow orders blindly, and the families behind them were also subordinate to the House of Malfoy. But who could have expected that the utterly detestable Alexandra would disregard their history and take the initiative to draw a line between them—simply because she felt they were too incompetent!

This was simply a profound humiliation!

Both of them were strong and powerful, and they were invincible in a fight among their peers. To think they didn't even have the qualification to be Alexandra's dogs?

Faced with such treatment, Goyle and Crabbe were filled with resentment and indignation, turning instead to follow the eldest daughter of the Bulstrode family.

Both Bulstrode and Malfoy were pure-blood families of the sacred twenty-eight; what did it matter who they followed?

They secretly swore to make Alexandra suffer, to let her know the consequences of underestimating others!

But Alexandra didn't care about Goyle and Crabbe at all, not even deigning to give them a glance.

For the proud Alexandra, only those with exceptional talent were worthy of being her companions or friends.

Pure-blood trash like Goyle and Crabbe, who had nothing but brute strength and no brains, were simply beneath her notice. Recruiting them into the Snake Heart Society would only lower the organization's prestige.

In contrast, although Harley Snape's background wasn't great (half-blood), her talent was extraordinary, and her looks were presentable. Keeping her by her side brought prestige, clearly fitting Alexandra's criteria for an ideal partner.

Pansy, being stared down by Goyle and Crabbe, showed no fear at all, pulling out her wand with a cruel grin.

"You two idiots, what's the use of just growing fat? We're Wizards!"

Seeing that a small skirmish was about to break out, Alexandra raised her hand to restrain Pansy and Daphne, who were eager to jump in behind her.

"The Sorting Ceremony is about to begin; it's not the time to look for trouble."

Pansy and Daphne obediently put away their wands. Bulstrode, on the opposite side, smiled triumphantly, believing Alexandra was showing weakness.

Bulstrode stopped paying attention to the 'cowardly' Malfoy. Her intervention to block Alexandra wasn't just to provoke her; it was mainly for Dean Snape's precious daughter, Harley Snape.

She turned and squeezed a somewhat terrifying smile out of her fleshy face, saying to Harley:

"Miss Snape, I know you went to Malfoy's compartment on the train, and I know you didn't return after leaving halfway through—you must have been disgusted by Malfoy's pretentious attitude as well, right?"

"I want to invite you to join our side. I guarantee we won't discriminate against your half-blood status and will give you the same treatment as other pure-blood Wizards. What do you say?"

Harley was stunned. She looked at Bulstrode, then at Goyle and Crabbe behind her. These three, who looked like they were raised on livestock feed, wanted her to join them? And even talked about not discriminating against her half-blood status? It would be good enough if she didn't discriminate against these three idiots!

Alexandra stood opposite Bulstrode, staring straight at Harley, her fists clenched. If this girl—

Harley's eyes darted around, suddenly realizing this was a brilliant opportunity.

With a face full of righteousness, she said, "Miss Bulstrode, I think you've misunderstood something. Alexandra and I felt like old friends from the moment we met, like sisters. I am already completely captivated by Miss Alexandra's exquisite beauty; there's no room in my heart for a second pure-blood Witch."

Hearing this, Bulstrode glared at Harley with some annoyance. She hadn't expected this half-blood to be so ungrateful as to praise Alexandra's looks to her face!

She had intended to charge forward and teach Harley some manners, but considering that Professor Snape was currently sitting in the Great Hall just a wall away, Bulstrode hesitated for a few seconds. She only dared to shake her fist at Harley threateningly before leading her two lackeys further away.

Stupid as Bulstrode was, she understood that if she threw that punch, regardless of what happened to Harley, given Professor Snape's protective nature, there was a 50% chance she, Goyle, and Crabbe would be expelled. The other 50% involved being force-fed poison by Professor Snape, and there was even a small chance she wouldn't see the sun the next day. It wasn't worth it.

The trio of idiots left. Though Alexandra's expression on the opposite side looked a bit strange, she didn't approach again. Harley could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Until just now, Harley was still worrying about how to explain things to Alexandra. Now it was all settled—thanks to Miss Bulstrode for the assist!

But before Harley could relax, she felt a sudden sharp pain in her lower back. Then, Hermione's somewhat eerie voice drifted into her ears:

"'No room in your heart for a second Witch'? Miss Snape is quite the romantic. It seems Senior Cho and I were both being sentimental for nothing."

Harley quickly explained, "I said there's no room in my heart for a second pure-blood Witch—actually, I'm also fallen for your charms, Hermione. There's no room in my heart for a second Muggle-born Witch; and at the same time, I'm very infatuated with Cho Chang, so there's no room for a second senior."

Hermione glared fiercely at Harley. This girl really was dishonest, making her philandering sound so fresh and refined!
